Tim Drake is simply so dear to me because what do you mean you stared abandonment in the eye at seven and said, “I can rise above this”
What do you mean you heard the biggest secret in the world at the age of nine and instead of telling everyone said “I will now guard and protect this with my life”
What do you mean you saw the sting of grief from a boy you watched grow and thought “I can fix this”
What do you mean you watched another adult fail you and endured endless cruelty and thought “I am helping”
What do you mean you were attacked by your childhood hero for replacing them after enduring constant rejection and abuse from his father and thought “I can forgive you”
What do you mean you watched the closest thing to a father die and had the rest of your family abandon you when you argued he was still alive and thought “I can prove them wrong”
What do you mean your entire life people held you back and yet you still pushed forward

None of the YouTube compilations of McCoy have this scene and it's so dissapointing, it's one of my favorite McCoy moments.

SPOILERS for Spider-Man: No Way Home
I just saw an article speculating about the name of the Spider-Man 4 movie and I had a thought... I want MJ to figure out what happened in No Way Home and who Peter is. We've always known she is observant and smart, but her character and just how smart she is has been developed over the 3 films. Originally I thought Peter would be the one trying to figure out how to reconnect with MJ and Ned and make them remember him, but I don't think it should actually go that way. The way the last movie ended, I can totally see Peter thinking his friends are better off without him and deciding to stay away and just watch over them from a distance. MJ starts noticing there are some things about her life and the world around her that don't add up, small details most people wouldn't notice or would brush off. Maybe she meets Dr Strange again, and even though he doesn't remember Peter, he might mention something about some spell or principle of magic that sticks in her head because it feels like it somehow connects with all these other things she has noticed. Eventually she figures it out and she is just FURIOUS that Peter would hide this from her and Ned and does the whole "How could you possibly think we are better off without you, you idiot" spiel, and "you weren't important to me because you're Spider-Man, you're important to me because you are Peter Parker," the brilliant, kind teenager she fell in love with, because having lost his aunt and his entire support system I can see Peter falling into a rut where he really needs to hear that. Meanwhile Peter is focusing on getting his GED/getting into college, keeping his head down, and being a friendly neighborhood spiderman dealing with whatever new crisis is threatening humanity. Maybe there could be an initial conversation between them where she hasn't quite figured out what happened but she knows something is up and he is involved somehow, so she tracks him down and questions him and he deflects; she leaves but can tell he is deflecting (because of course she can) and keeps searching for answers before it all finally clicks, and she goes back to confront him as I described above. Since she is one of the few people who figured out he was Spider-Man before, it seems fitting she would figure out who Peter Parker is.
That's how I want to see this play out. Make it happen, Marvel.

not a week goes by where I don’t think about how the six of crows adaptation managed to find six actors who looked, embodied, AND GENUINELY CARED about their characters only for the show to get canceled before they could properly execute the ice court heist :( aka the oceans 11 of fantasy heists…

So I first read Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom and was super impressed with the quality of the writing. Then I read the Shadow and Bone Trilogy, and while it was still enjoyable, the writing quality was not what I was expecting after reading the Crows Duology. I'm psyching myself up to read the Nikolai Duology- how does it compare with the other two series in terms of overall writing quality?

Does anyone know of any good fanfics about Nikolai Lantsov's childhood? It's alluded to in both the books and the show (the army of nannies, Dominik being brought to the palace, Nikolai hearing the whispers about his parentage), but I want to see it fleshed out. I was intrigued by Dominik referring to Nikolai as "a quiet whisp of a thing" and how he must have changed over the years.

Still mad that the Shadow and Bone show cheated us out of seeing Nikolai being turned into a twisted demon version of himself by the Darkling from Ruin and Rising. That could have been cinematic gold and they just dropped the rope.

that scene in season 2 when we think nina’s betrayed kaz is so accurate to the books (reminiscent of wylan’s “he gave them everything”), because it was another instance of “omg a plot twist that wasn’t orchestrated by kaz!” only to realize that it was, in fact, orchestrated by kaz.
