Name: Ridley Stark-Lancaster. Age: 22 [Physically 16]. Species: Demi-Demon/Undead Hybrid. Sexuality: Homosexual. Faceclaim: Sabrina Carpenter. Personality: Ridley has spunk and is always very outspoken and charismatic. She is the type who can get anyone to follow her if she tries hard enough, a trait she shares with her mother. She also has a knack for saying the wrong things at the wrong time in uncomfortable or awkward situations. A sort of awkward babble she starts up with when she’s nervous. She has trust issues, having trouble opening up and letting others in because of her troubled past. The dark life she led changed her, even more so after she learned of her true past, although she remains straight-shooting, sarcastic and funny. She is tough and closed off, but she can occasionally show warmth and overbearing compassion, especially to her siblings, mother and Miranda. Biography: At twenty-six, not too long after her sister had given birth, Jessamine Love learned that she too was pregnant. The father of the child was James Lancaster, her longtime secret lover. When she realized she was pregnant, it was too late to take any action to protect the child because Lucifer’s witch had found a way to subdue her. For months, she was held captive by Lucifer and the witch, until she gave birth. Lucifer feared that her having an heir may give her the power to take her throne back. So when the child was born, he used his witch to alter Jessamine’s memory, putting a block between her memories of her first pregnancy and her other thoughts so she couldn’t remember it. He took the child to the human world and dumped her off in the foster system. Ridley never met her biological family. She was given up for adoption when she was a still an infant and was forced to go from one foster family to another. Growing up like that, it could be said that it "messed" her up pretty bad. She never had a place to call home, people to call family, she was always alone. That's why, at the age of fifteen, she ran away from her foster home with nothing but a stack of cash she had saved by working part time jobs. However, things were a lot worse for her on the run. Ridley got involved with a bad, very bad crowd and as a result, she got hooked on oxy. After that, she did everything to get another fix; slept with people for money, stole from passerby etc. In a few words, she became someone living only to satisfy her addiction; the artistic, funny and at times sweet and compassionate self was gone. She died at age 16 from an overdose. Ridley didn't go neither to hell nor heaven but found herself becoming an undead, stuck on Earth. Upon arriving to Henderson Asylum she learned the truth of her mother and father. She grew close to her mother and learned more of her father. When they were released, she went back to the Underworld with her mother, but ended up running away as she feared her mother might abandon her in favor of her younger siblings.

Name: Roland Ayres. Age: 24. Species: Phoenix. Sexuality: Heterosexual. Faceclaim: Ryan Kelley. Personality: Roland is the opposite of what most phoenix are known to be. As opposed to dark and destructive he’s considerably lighter and compassionate, caring about the well-being of others more than his own. He’s got a noble side, with a strong sense of duty and honor. His moral compass is strong and paired with a desire to protect people makes him incredibly careful with his powers. He’s very resourceful, diligent and adaptable. He’s laid back, and most find it easier to open up to him as he doesn’t hide much about himself, as well as having a calm and open minded nature. Roland is determined when he sets his mind to something and can be a little stubborn when it comes to shaking his moral compass. He’s very perceptive and tends to send things about people fairly easily. Biography: Roland was the result of an odd coupling of species. His mother was one of the witches responsible for hunting down the phoenix and bringing an end to their disastrous species. And his father was one of the phoenix responsible for being so disastrous. When his parents collided it was catastrophic. Catching her in a weak point, his father took advantage of his mother, and impregnated her with Roland in the process. She survived the attack, barely and her coven nursed her back to health before realizing the monstrosity she carried inside of her. The pregnant witch had only animosity for Roland, even when he was an unborn child. For her he represented all things terrible. She decided that she’d wait till he was born and give birth in the water so she could end the life she’d been forced to create. Her plan went well, until she began to hemorrhage. She died trying to murmur the incantation to end Roland’s life. It didn’t kill him, but instead handicapped his powers indirectly, causing him to be for most purposes, human. He and his mother’s corpse were discovered by campers only a few hours later. They brought him to a hospital and paid for all the medical bills of getting him looked over by a doctor, as he was weak and frail from the spell work done to him. They grew attached to him, and in the end they adopted him, gaining guardianship after five months of waiting. He was put in their care, and they loved him deeply, more than his biological parents would ever be capable of. Despite his fragile start, he grew to be strong, participating in plenty of sports growing up. Though he never became like the typical jocks who were rude to everyone. Sometimes he was even teased for his gentle nature. His parents were his rock. They supported him through all of his endeavors, including going to the police academy to become a police officer. They stood by him through every test and stood at his side when he eventually graduated and got his first job at their local police station, even though it was purely a desk job. His parents were more than could ever be asked for in parents, and he was always grateful to them, and incredibly protective. It wasn’t until he was twenty three were any of his powers evident to see. Ironically, his true nature caught up to him when his father brushed through town with two other phoenix. They sensed another of their kind and realized he was living completely unlike any other phoenix, going against what they believed was their true nature. They decided to rob some of the things he held dear by burning down his house. The fire was small at first, starting on the outside of the structure, though it quickly spread with the help of his biological father’s fire abilities. Determined to rescue his adoptive parents, his true parents, he tried to fight through flames in the upstairs hallways. At first it burned, but the fire activated his phoenix nature, and he was able to fight through the flames without a scratch, only to find he was too late. His mother was still breathing, just a little and he managed to get her outside, just long enough for her to tell him she loved him, no matter what he was. He hadn’t even realized the half of what he’d done, or what he was until she mentioned it. His biological father and his friends were gone before they could answer for their crimes, or before they could answer the questions of Roland’s untapped nature. He was lost, only knowing that he was different, that he was strange. After he was cleared at as a suspect, he moved to a new town for a fresh start. The town was smaller than the one he’d been raised at, and he felt like an outsider still, even though he was finally off the desk job. There weren’t many answers about his true nature, even though he scoured books and the internet for some clue. One night, he was working the graveyard shift, one that included double duty as an emergency responder and his regular duties as deputy. He got a call in the early AM, from a girl who was home alone and had hurt herself. She seemed faint, so he rushed out and found redheaded Juliette Harmon, an eighteen year old high school senior at her home, covered in blood. He managed to bandage her up even though she refused to go to a hospital, and when he pushed to tell her parents what had happened, she fought him with such a fire, astounding him by quoting a law regarding her age and parental involvement word for word. They had a few more encounters, ones that made him speculate he was not the only supernatural. However before he got to learn more, what turned out to be the worse day of his life happened. He responded to a call from her house number, only it was her mother and it was after Juliette had committed suicide. He was heartbroken that he couldn’t save her. He took a leave from work, and during that three week leave he turned twenty four. During a nightmare, his powers were triggered and he ended up setting his couch on fire. It was contained quickly, chalked up to a freak accident, but still made the papers, which got the attention of the asylum. They found him and captured him, taking him to the asylum, and locking him up. He was never given any straight answers, and still believes he’s a human with odd abilities.

Name: Clara Adams. Age: 19 [Real age: 174]. Species: Demon/Angel Hybrid. Sexuality: Heterosexual. Faceclaim: Nina Dobrev. Personality: Sly. Clara is quite the manipulator, she can easily deceive people into thinking that she can be trusted, when in most cases she cannot be. In the grand scheme, she lets very few into her life from a mix of trust issues, general annoyance and the fact that she was raised to be as cold as possible. To most, Clara will seem cold, punishing and not at all soft. This was exactly what Lucifer wanted of his “daughter.” Deeper down, she’s got a loving, compassionate side that she covers up as a result of being hurt repetitively by people in her life, mostly her father. She avoids showing affection or love because to her those feelings are often torn away from her by her father. One of her greatest soft spots are for her siblings, her children and Austin Bailey. Biography: The first child in a family was always supposed to be one of the most cherished milestones in a family. This was not the case for the Adams however. For a King even, the first child was crucial to the Reign. However, there is no worse time in a King’s life when he discovers his heir to be is not his. Lucifer was still unsure about his first wife as it was. She was not a native to Hell and he only had one child to trap her in staying with him. That plan had been going well, at least for a while. However, it didn’t persist as he desired when Diana became pregnant after an assault. He decided to keep Diana locked up, paying a demon who specialized in pregnancies to help him keep her around. The plan began to spin in his head. He would have to have something to account for all the missing time. He didn’t even want one child around, but when he found out she was expecting twins, he knew he’d have to pick one to raise as his own, although he wasn’t sure which one. He also knew he’d have to find a way to keep the child from being his heir. Finally, when the babies were born, both girls, it became evident that both were weighted to different sides. Clara was born obviously dark. And the memory of her was allowed to remain with Diana, although he ensured that she would never be in power by basing the next ruler off a test of power and sabotaging it so he could ensure his blood would be placed on the throne. He locked out any angel powers Clara had, closing the wing slits in her back to ensure she never knew what she was. Clara was raised as the oldest of the three Adams siblings. She is Lucifer’s oldest child and tends to act like it. She is proud of her bloodline, unlike her youngest brother, Jake. She has always been extremely boastful of where she comes from, and reminds others of her authority above them most times, especially being the oldest of the three Adam children. The only thing different between her and them is that she never wished to go to earth. Her brother being head demon bothered her slightly, but she knew what Lucifer said went, and there wasn’t much purpose in arguing with him. She took a similar attitude with Freya. Much like her mother, she saw right through the woman, but kept her cool, pretending to hold a respect for her. The act was near perfect, fit for her incredibly sly and manipulative personality and it played well, but still, the situation of going to Earth was ridiculous to her. She didn’t want to go to earth and have to mix with humans and angels who didn’t know who she was. Of course, most angels and faes would probably fear her. But vampires and werewolves, or whatever other species probably wouldn’t even know who she was. In the swarm of the asylum, she would have been considered a no one, and not being the top of a situation is something that she could not comprehend. She speaks to everyone in the asylum, simply to maintain her queen bee status, but she is rude to most of those around her. She has never been afraid of telling others what she thinks of them and was not afraid to stop at this point in time. Clara lives off of other’s resentments for her. Clara keeps any emotions that she feels far away from anyone else. She would not consider even telling an angel, who understands emotion, how much she struggles with being on Earth sometimes. With her long-term boyfriend back home, in a place where she was respected, she is struggling to control a grip of who she is in a world where no one achieves the same status as her but a small selection of demons who were chosen to attend with her. After her brother left the asylum, she took over as Head Demon, alongside her old plaything Zach Maxwell. When Jessamine started her campaign against Lucifer, Clara was initially unsure. But finally, the weight of what had happened to her daughter Lacie, and the weight of what her siblings had gone through weighed her hand and she struck against the man she believed to be her father. However, the blade she used to end him also ended her. While she was brought back to life, she found herself becoming depressed, tired, and sluggish. Part was because the man she had held up as her father had killed her, the other part, although she didn’t know it at the time was that she was finally coming into her powers. She only knew there were two odd red scars on her back, ones she assumed were from the battle. Clara ended up sleeping with Austin Bailey, falling pregnant once again with twins. When they were freed from the asylum, after Bradley’s death, she became pregnant with the twins.

Name: Charlotte Strange. Age: 22. Species: Angel. Sexuality: Bisexual. Faceclaim: Melissa Benoist. Personality: Charlotte is like most angels. She has a light about her that attracts people. She is kind and caring and simply good. She’s sweet to everyone she meets, even if she acts shy at first. Once a person gets to know Char, she is bubbly and upbeat; a smile is always on her face. She can be awkward at times. Charlotte is also independent and has strong morals. She stands up for people and offers them a safe place. She tries her best to befriend everyone she meets. Biography: Charlotte’s life was mostly normal. She lived in a big city with her parents and her older sister, Jada. Her parents worked as scientists for the government, studying the possibility of supernatural creatures. Charlotte and Jada never knew of their parents’ work; they grew up just thinking their mom and dad worked in a lab. Growing up, Charlotte was the golden child. She was always happy and ready to help with anything and everything. She would drag her mother down to the pet store to read to animals or to the nursing home to care for the elderly. As she entered school, Charlotte’s willingness to help people often got her ridiculed for being a teacher’s pet. Her favorite subject throughout elementary and middle school was history. She absolutely adored the Renaissance Era, and she loved learning about the presidents. Freshman year was when everything changed for Charlotte. Her father disappeared on an assignment set up by an agency with the government. To keep her mind preoccupied, Char started throwing herself into school activities. She had joined the theater club and glee club, and she started tutoring. One of the popular girls in the theater club got jealous of Charlotte and started bullying her. When Jada, her sister, found out, she put a stop to it. Charlotte and Jada grew closer after that. During her junior year, Charlotte joined the school newspaper, where she met her best friend Shawn. The two were inseparable, even in after graduating high school. They both obtained their bachelor’s degrees in journalism, and Shawn even helped Charlotte get a job at the magazine he interned for. Charlotte started out as the editor’s assistance but moved up to reporter. The night of her congratulatory dinner for her promotion, Charlotte was walking Jada back to her apartment. A guy dressed in all black stepped in front of them and fired a shot at Jada, but Charlotte stepped in front of her sister and took the bullet. She died in her sister’s arms before being brought back as an angel for her heroic deed and pure life. The few couple of months into life as an angel, Charlotte was assigned to watch over the people in her city. From time to time, she would check on her mother and sister, make sure they were okay. But Jada wasn’t. She spent her extra time figuring out why her sister was killed and who was behind it; and one night, she got a breakthrough. A few weeks before Charlotte had died, Jada found out that before their father disappeared, he had released one of the creatures being experimented on in the lab. What he really did was disrupt the experimentation of finding a mutated gene in humans with “super powers.” The government tried covering it up with making Charlotte and Jada’s dad “disappear.” The director of the agency her father worked in discovered that Jada knew about the experiment and sent a hitman to kill her to keep her quiet, but Charlotte was the one that payed the price. The information upset Charlotte so much that she was reassigned to a better purpose. She was the new guardian angel over different people of different species. Charlotte was being a guide to a werewolf when the asylum caught her.

Name: Leah Witts. Age: 22. Species: Vampire/Werewolf Hybrid. Sexuality: Heterosexual. Faceclaim: Phoebe Tonkin. Personality: Leah is a challenging type of person. She’s stubborn, fierce, and has a natural sort of charisma that inspires people to follow her. When Leah has her mind set on something, it is hard to talk her out of it, but she’s not beyond listening to reason. Growing up on the run, she became hard to access and had to learn how to become comfortable with being on her own. In a lot of ways she’s almost become too comfortable with this way of living, and has learned to rely purely on herself. This often makes it difficult for her to let another person in, or allow them to help her with anyway. For a while, she improved in this, but since Mark left not long after the birth of their son, she’s gone more so back to who she once was. Leah has the Witts’ family temper. She’s quick to snap and have her temper flare up. The easiest way to trigger this temper is to press her too hard or threaten someone she loves deeply. She’s protective as hell over her family and those she cares about. The time she’ll fight the hardest is for her children, and for those she loves deeply. Leah is blunt, quick witted with a sharp tongue. She doesn’t hold back in what she wants to say, and often has the tendency to do so in sassy manner. Her blunt attitude often leads to people thinking she’s bitchy, but she doesn’t care much for the opinions. Since the departure of Mark, Leah has experienced a numb sort of feeling. Most emotions are numbed all together for her, and those left are barely there compared to what they are. The only thing she feels is dedication and love for her children, but even they don’t make her feel as alive as she once would. She’s been chasing feeling just about anything, which has caused her to lash out at most people and pursue a sexual relationship with the father of her children, Caleb. Despite the gruffer exterior, Leah has a compassionate heart, she wants to help others, but has trouble letting her walls down. Biography: Leah was born to Leanne and Gregory Witts in 1997. She was completely doted on by her parents and her elder brother Vincent. She got along incredibly well with Vincent, and they were inseparable for the first few years. A few years later, her younger brother Ryan and sister Mary came along. Not long after that, tragedy struck, or so Leah was led to believe. She was told her elder brother Vincent had died. There was no funeral, no chance to say goodbye, and Leah could never figure out the reason for all of it. She was heartbroken, but her parents acted as if Vincent had never even existed, leaving her alone in her mourning. Leah refused to forget him, but grew adjusted to not bringing him up, instead she honored his memory by being a good big sister to Ryan and Mary. She took on a leadership role, ensuring they were well taken care of and did what it was they had to do. She was a natural in that aspect with a charisma that just encouraged people to follow her. Six years later, tragedy rocked her life once more. The car crash happened. They were driving home after her parents had had a late night get together with their friends when something caused the car to crash. It killed Mary and Ryan, as well as Leanne and Gregory. It nearly killed Leah as well, but before she fully succumbed to death, she was bitten by what she had believed to be a wolf. When she woke up in the hospital however the bite was gone and she was told the crash impact made it appear to be a hit and run. She vowed revenge on the person responsible. The funeral was held and because she had no living relatives left that she knew of, she was sent to live with a foster family. By then she was already withdrawn. Her foster parents offered no help in that regard. A month after the crash, on the next full moon, she changed for the first time. She had been playing in the wooded area behind the foster home, where she often found solace, when it happened. It was terribly brutal and painful, and when she woke up, she was human again, but knew she could never return to the foster family after that. So she left. She lived in the woods most of the time, spending her days hiking through them. She went town to town like this. Occasionally she’d go to gas stations, stealing food where she could. For three years this went on, until Bryan found her after her shift on the full moon. Though she didn’t want to, she agreed to meet his parents simply because they too were like her, and she wanted to know more about her kind. They wanted to take her in as soon as they met her. And after a while, she agreed to stick around, but didn’t fully adjust for a long time. They taught her about being a wolf, mastering herself and her powers, learning how to not succumb to the beast inside, even on a full moon. She and Bryan fell in love along the way. Along that time, Leah and Bryan became the alphas when the previous alpha died during a brutal fight. Four years later, when Leah was nineteen, her and Bryan had an argument and briefly broke up. She went to drown her sorrows at a bar, which resulted in a one night stand with a stranger named Caleb. She had no idea what significant place he would later hold. She and Bryan got back together two days later. Not long after, she, Bryan and her pack were captured by the asylum. She found out she was pregnant two weeks after being captured, this causing another break up between her and Bryan, as the child she carried belong to Caleb. Eventually, she met Mark, a friend of Caleb’s who put two and two together to figure out how she’d gotten pregnant. They grew close and fell in love. She also reunited with Caleb, who she at best held an antagonistic relationship with. Later on, she gave birth to twin girls, Roseclear and Pixie. Things in the asylum became difficult during a feud with Freya, and after threats to her twins, she decided to poison the woman in hopes of stopping the threat she posed. This led to her own eventual death, but because of ingestion of vampire blood not long before, she did not stay dead. She died in Bryan’s arms, and he brought her back to Mark who quickly deduced she was somehow in transition. When she awoke, she had some difficulties adjusting that Bryan helped her with. Having grown closer to him again, she ended up breaking things off with Mark and going back to Bryan. While things were good, both Bryan and Leah ended up deciding they just needed to go through something to realize they weren’t right for each other, even though they loved each other, and she ended things with him. She soon found out Mark was being held prisoner and freed him from the confines the asylum had put him in. However, this resulted in them both being chased by the asylum. They were killed and buried on the property, with Leah leaving the twins to her brother Vincent, who she’d reunited with after becoming a hybrid. The barrier dropped and many months later when it went back up, she too was brought back to life, but carried a struggling darkness from the months dead. She ended up having a son with Mark, and once more, they were freed from the asylum. Then Mark left, and she fell into something of a spiral, going back to her older habits.

Name: Kayalayna Ikelos. Age: 24 [Real Age: 2,446]. Species: Eroseelie. Sexuality: Pansexual. Faceclaim: Emily Bett Rickards. Personality: Karalayna has always felt like the outlier. Her world was surrounded by those who were crueler, didn’t value life and didn’t understand things like empathy and sympathy. She had always been different, even from the start. Where others of her kind were selfish, holding out for only themselves and being shocked when someone extended kindness or sympathy to them, she was kind, selfless, and tried to help those she came across, even though they were more likely to stab her in the back than they were to return to favor. She always felt compassion was its own reward, and was never the type to ask for anything in return for the good deeds she did. In the world innocence went to die, she held onto a wonderment in the world, and had an optimism that most others didn’t possess. Things changed as she grew older. The kinder she acted, the more she was greeted with cruelty. She was called weak, told that loving others made her weak. She had to try and internalize what she felt so she wasn’t singled out. She learned to disguise what she felt. The acting and pretending that she was like the others taught her how to lie and deceive, though she’s not proud of this side of herself. She’s better at construing larger, more elaborate lies, but when it comes to tell white lies she often falls short and most can tell she’s lying. Karalayna typically only uses her more deceptive side when it comes to hiding what she is and who she is, otherwise she prides herself on honesty and tries her best to be open with others. She’s very moral and has a strong compass that guides her actions and makes her try to fight for what she believes is right. She’s very compassionate. She cares about others deeply and is the type to try to protect those who can’t always protect themselves, especially the humans who know so little about the supernatural around them. She’s incredibly defensive of humanity, and holds a high regard for human life and those within it. When it comes to those she cares about, she’s incredibly kind, and always puts those who she cares about above herself, even if it means danger to herself. Karalayna is rather awkward, nervous and clumsy. She doesn’t do so well when it comes to first meetings, and if she’s particularly intimidated by a person, whether it’s by their beauty, their skills, etc. she has the tendency to stumble over her words, or blurt things out without truly thinking about what she’s saying. Karalayna is often over-apologizing for when she’s in her more bumbling and awkward state, especially when she’s nervous about something. She’s got the tendency to babble, and quickly becomes embarrassed by what she says when she forgets to censor herself. While she’s confident in her abilities of things like learning and technological savvy, she can be rather insecure about herself. Karalayna is intelligent, determined and hard-working. She’s got a creative, crafty mind and does well with problem solving. She’s a fast learner, and has a high capacity for learning and picking up on things. When she’s determined to do something, she battens down and always strives to bring out the best of herself and her ability. Her problem solving nature also makes her rather curious and her penchant for learning things and piecing together mysteries has the tendency to lead her into trouble. She’s not the type to back down or hide even when she’s in a dangerous situation, and knows how to be brave and strong. Karalayna is patient, and knows how to wait for things. When she is comfortable with somebody she has the tendency to be somewhat sarcastic and witty, but typically doesn’t go above and beyond to a level that would hurt someone. She’s often the type to use humor, even in dark situations. Despite her past, Karalayna is trusting, and believes in giving others the chance to do the right thing. She isn’t afraid to stand her ground, and will hold up what she believes in. At times she can be rather stubborn about what she’s thinking, and it can take a great deal of sway to try and change her mind. Though her mind isn’t easy to change, it can be changed. When she makes decisions though, she does try to follow through with them. Biography: Karalayna was the fifth and last child born to King Kian and his favored concubine Odelle. She was conceived during one of Odelle’s fertility periods, in which the King serviced her. Like his other children with Odelle, he had every intention of acknowledging the children and accepting them in his line of heirs. However, unlike his other children, he was not expecting Karalayna to be a girl. For many months, Odelle and Kian were told that the child that Odelle carried was a boy. The King was overjoyed, another son. He’d had a particular distaste for women since his mother and his experience with her. And with his bravado and certainty he would not face death, he could laugh about the fact if somehow someone did manage to bring him down, he would have five heirs to back up the throne and continue in his practice. Two months before the due date, Odelle went into labor. It was a long labor, and while many healers of their kind tried to prolong the labor so the child had a greater chance for survival, after about thirty hours, not even the strongest magic could hold back Karalayna. And so she was born. She was born on the Summer Solstice, in Odelle’s chambers. Because of the particular case of the birth, even the King was present for it, something unseen even with his four prior acknowledged songs. It was a shock to everyone to find the child that came from Odelle was not a boy but a girl. The king was undoubtedly frustrated that he did not have another Prince, but a princess. However, he took stock that he already had four possible heirs, and in part his own arrogance made him think he did not need even one, so he came to terms with the fact that his youngest was a daughter and acknowledged her as well. Karalayna’s birth was not without lasting effect, as her mother was left unable to bear children after her birth. Karalayna was spoiled and pampered. She was a princess, and was given no less than the best. She had the finest food, the most elaborate clothing, the only thing she was truly missing was the one thing she craved even as a little girl, true affection and love. It was clear from even her birth, she was different, and it showed as early as her toddler stage how. She didn’t have a muting on her emotions, no watered down version of feelings. She could feel things more deeply than those around her, possibly even more deeply than humans. Yet she was trapped in a world where emotion was not just frowned upon, but made one weak. Her brothers – being as in depth in their nature as they were – ignored and rarely ever paid the slightest drop of attention to her. They were indifferent to her existence. She didn’t provide a threat to the throne they wanted, as nobody truly took her seriously for being in line for the throne, and they didn’t take her as worth their time. Her father, while he paid attention to her at times, showering her with pretty jewels and gowns, he showed no true love, and at the slightest sign of having her own mind he’d cut down those thoughts. Her mother was the closest she ever to true care. The woman had affection for all of her child, but clearly favored Kara. She’d often spend time teaching Kara how to do different things she often said she had been unable to teach her sons. She wasn’t so outright with it, but Karalayna was certain there had to be something there, more than what she saw. Her mother was also the one who taught her to fly when she was three. Karalayna reached maturity in her mid-twenties, ceasing the aging process and becoming immortal like all the eroseelie did. The difference was still there, the depth of emotion, a heart that she clearly had where others might not have so clearly. She struggled in her world, with the coldness of it, with the constant motion and how everything seemed to matter so little. So many seemed to just waste away their immortality, and while she disdained the fact that she often felt so alone, she almost envied those who didn’t have to feel as strongly as she did, because then they wouldn’t have to feel the pain that came with being so truly lonely. She did her best to hide it, so she could blend in and not face the wrath of her kind. She spent many years of this, blending in, forcing herself not to show everything she felt. She took lovers into her bed during her fertility periods, pretended to enjoy the lavish nature of her life style, and acted as if she was a normal eroseelie. It was not easy, and all the years she had to do this for slowly chipped away at her, haunting her. When Karalayna was in her early first few centuries, she and her mother were having a brunch when her father’s men stormed the room, dragging her mother away from her. Kara couldn’t remain stone faced during this and ended up fighting as hard as she could to defend the woman she cared about. She managed to incapacitate three of her father’s men, but soon she was also brought down. When she awoke she was in her chambers, under heavy guard. Weeks passed, and supposed information poured in about her mother committing infidelities. She was not allowed to leave her room, but she could hear the guards gossiping while she wondered what would come of her mother, and what would come of herself. About six weeks after her mother’s arrest, Kayalayna awoke in her room when guards came in with a gown for her. She was ordered to dress and accompany the guards downstairs. She had hoped it meant the end of her bedroom arrest and that the gown and invitation was her father’s way of making peace. It wasn’t as if he was the type to apologize for what he did. So she dressed, she walked down to the throne room where her father sat. And she was forced to watch as her father drove a sword carved from rowan wood through her mother’s chest. Karalayna tried to get to her mother, but she was restrained as she watched those last agonizing moments. Karalayna was haunted by the death. The one woman who’d come the closest to affection was gone, and she was left in a cruel world with a father who had enjoyed as he skewered the woman he’d once been rumored to love. She put herself on a house arrest of sorts, locking herself away in her chambers. For years she stayed in the solitude, rarely leaving. When she did leave it was for food, and she didn’t speak to anyway. She spiraled into a depression, haunted by nightmares of what she had seen, reliving the horror of her own helplessness over and over. Eventually, her depression drove her to a sort of madness, and she wanted to erase all the memories of her mother. She destroyed items given to her by the woman, yet the memories still remained. She somehow came to get it in her head that her wings were just another reminder of her mother and the fact she was no longer there. She obtained an iron blade and attempted to carve her right wing from her back. She passed out before she could complete the process, but was left with a nasty scar along her shoulder blade to show for what she’d done to herself. It was after that when healers started drugging her, so she wouldn’t be such a danger to herself. Two weeks into the drugging, she forced herself out of her depression, or at least found the foundation for trying to climb her way out of it. The drugging had only meant she was asleep and weak more often. And when she was sleeping and weak, she was vulnerable to the awful nightmares of her mother. It was torture, constantly seeing the repeats of her mother’s death, or seeing memories she’d shared with her mother contorted by the awful horrid event. It was enough that she at least pretended to be better long enough to make the steps to actually recovering somewhat from the entire incident. It took decades for her to find any true peace with it, and even then there was so much unrest it would only take something painful to trigger the horror of it. Months turned to years, and years turned to decades and decades turned to centuries. So much time blurred together, but Karalayna was still the same person she had always been, a fish out of water among her own kind. She was different fundamentally, with the powers and the looks of those around her, but not the soul. She tried many things, even tried immersing herself in the culture of her people to escape what was inside of her. But nothing seemed to work. She could not shake what she had been born with. Her father had tried to some degree, recognizing her softness. Anytime she would grow someone attached to anyone that seemed beyond that of something physical, she would be forced to watch them die in the same manner her mother had killed. Three lovers of her went like that. Convenient crimes popping up that gave her father grounds to execute them. Not that he needed those grounds. He was a king. She often imagined he did such things to mock her. Some of the eroseelie left their realm, escaping through worn holes in the fiber of the wards holding them in place. They had tried to escape into the seelie realm, only to be face with death and torture as a result. Instead they found themselves in the human world. Some would bring back stories of the humans, and the world they lived in. It was one of the things that always intrigued Karalayna. The times she felt most alive was when the latest eroseelie would return with news or artifacts from the human realm. She busied herself by speaking to those eroseelie, learning the ways of humans. She felt a kinship to them more so than she did her own people, though she passed off her interest as a clinical curiosity. It was always believed that Kian’s line would be incapable of leaving the realm, because of the fact Kian’s very blood bound the warding that held them in place. It wasn’t until the early 1990’s in the human realm did Karalayna’s brothers discover otherwise. It happened on one of those rare days where Karalayna was actually with those who were her blood kin. They were spending at one of the lakes down by the warding edge. It wasn’t anything special really. A normal day. Her brothers roughhousing and wrestling about in the water, closer to each other than they’d ever be to Karalayna. And Karalayna laying at a distance, flipping through the pages of a book. She wasn’t entirely sure what had happened, but as things often did with the colder nature her brother’s held, the lack of care caused one thing to escalate to another. Her brother Oryn telekinetically threw her other brother smack into the warding. Only he didn’t slam into the invisible force field, he passed through. For moments, panic gripped them all. Soon enough, Dax decided to investigate. The ward was in place where he touched below where Averett had been thrown. When he touched where he’d been thrown, his hand passed through. And so Dax used his powers to push through that tear. One by one her other brothers followed. Karalayna was the last. The tear opened in Virginia in the human world. Cautiously, they explored what they could of the human world, being smart enough to use their glamor so they appeared to be humans, rescinding their wings and dulling their powers. Karalayna, despite her cold relationship with her brothers, stuck by their sides for the better part of the day, breaking off only two hours before they were pulled back. Those two hours were some of the best of her life. Finally, she didn’t have to hide her soul from others. She could smile, and she could be genuine. Those things had been so long dormant she felt stiff calling up the behaviors that were part of her. Yet it brought her the feeling of being alive. She craved it. And then she was pulled away, pulled back into Vankila. A blast of power dragged her back, an extension of the warding. She found herself back in the woods that had been near where she and her brother’s had lounged earlier. When she got back to the castle, her brothers were there. Her father seemed completely tickled that his blood and flesh had gotten through the warding, even if it had been only temporary. He assumed that it was because of their mother’s blood that they could have been able to escape for that short time. It became a regular thing. Sometimes one brother went out, sometimes two, sometimes three and sometimes four. Always with a fleet of guards, often testing out the different rips in the warding. Sometimes she was also allowed to leave. She was allowed to accompany her brothers out into the human world. She never quite got to venture away from them though. There was no more going off on her own. Instead she was forced to watch the chaos those of her species put onto the world. She had to see their loose morals and inability to feel allow them to commit such horrid acts as unleashing their power onto the poor unwitting humans and forcing them into their control. She watched the creatures she felt so attached to willingly march to their death just to get what the power of her species made them crave. A few times she had tried to intercede. She was often punished for that. The first time she tried to intercede, she had been whipped five times. The second time she’d been locked away in solitary confinement. And the third time her father lanced power debilitating crystals through her hands. The latter left her weak for two weeks. Once more, she was forced into silence, into being quiet. Her whole life in her world had been spent muting who she was, but now her time in this world of promise she had to spend muting what she was as well. Her breaking point soon came. It had started relatively normally, she was attending one of her brothers to the human world in the early 2000’s. He had been on the hunt for a human woman to turn to his ways and contort to what he wanted. He found a girl he was interested in, and decided to partake in a game of genuinely trying to draw her in before he unleashed his powers on her. He managed to get her back to an apartment that was one of many her family was renting so they had a temporary residence in those few hours they could spend in the human world. Karalayna under her usual orders was to attend him where he went, so she too returned. She went to one of the two rooms, not wanting to see what came next. Only when her brother went to unleash the power, it didn’t work. The woman was resistant to the magic her brother could access. Karalayna left her room when she heard the woman screaming. Her brother, with that limited eroseelie comprehension forced the woman into being with him, and the moment Karalayna had left her room she was locked in place by a guard. They returned home immediately after, and Karalayna was resolved on what she had to do. Weeks, Karalayna spent weeks trying to come up with a plan. She knew she had to get out. She knew that if she could not stop each of her brothers, she could no longer support what they were doing by watching as a bystander. She would find a way to try and stop it when she got out. The plan was not an easy one to form at first. There were many obstacles, such as the fact she could only leave for a few hours at a time. She knew leaving was something she would only be able to do once, even then she would be chased after. That was just another of the obstacles she would have to face. It was not an easy task. Eventually the answer came when she had been looking at the vacant crystals her father had had crafted into a set of earrings, the ones that had one held the power to debilitate her powers long enough for her punishment to be served, the ones that had become earrings as a reminder of her father’s will. She realized that if she used enough of the power muting and perhaps a weaker one of those crystals, she could trick the barrier into thinking that she was not one of her father’s bloodline. All those of her father’s bloodline who had passed through had been strong and powerful, and it was not the blood the barrier looked for to track the person down, but their power. It was purely a theory at first. But she eventually tested it through observing the people entering and leaving the realm, and observing the spellwork in the ward itself. Slowly, she gained enough evidence to believe that her theory was right. Next she located her own crystal, one that had not been enriched by power yet, but also not one that had been burned out of such power. She took the crystal and brought it to one of the ‘thugs’ of her kind. She paid the person handsomely to enchant it with a far weaker version of the spell on the crystals her father had impaled in her hands. It was enough to compliment her own power muting, but not enough to completely drown and weaken her like her father’s crystals had been. She chose the night, the busy night of the Winter Solstice. Most of her kind would be wrapped up in celebrations. That night she packed a few things, mostly her journals from over the years, and then headed off. She used a bracelet that had been composed with the crystal she’d had enchanted and a combination of her muting power this time. She didn’t have to escape through a tear. This time she walked right through, and felt the true freedom for once. She knew people would come looking for her, but she kept her powers muted enough so they couldn’t send people that way. Slowly, when she felt less paranoid and inclined to skip towns every few weeks, she started to settle in. Karalayna found a home in the human realm. She acclimated, learned to fit in. Even though her species was different, and she had to hide that, she felt more at home in the realm than she ever had in her world. She adapted to the new world, learned how to keep herself safe. For a while, she had become so wrapped up in that new buzz of finally feeling at home somewhere that she forgot what had driven her there in the first place. It wasn’t until the eroseelie invaded the city she had come to call home. It was only a few of them and she’d barely caught them out of the corner of her eye. She knew what they were going to do. She became driven to do what she could to stop it. She couldn’t use masses of her powers because of the constant muting she did, but she became driven to learn another way to defend the precious gift she felt was humanity. Karalayna started to attend school in the human world. At first she was dawn towards law enforcement, surely they would be the best option. But she soon realized she had an aptitude for computers. From there, she learned more. She used her intelligence and dedication to learn as much as she possibly could about technology and how to use it as a weapon. A few years later she had set up a unique web that allowed her to detect the movement of the eroseelie. It alerted her of apartment rentals, purchases. At first just under the names her family had used. But soon she picked up on more eroseelie aliases, and used those as well. During the day, she spent her time immersed in her human realm, working as an IT girl at some company in Los Angeles. But when she wasn’t doing that she was tracking and searching down every possible member of her kind and doing whatever it took to drive them out from the human world.

ORIGINAL CHARACTER
Name: Winifred Beauregard. Age: 19 [Real Age: 37]. Species: Demon. Sexuality: Bisexual. Faceclaim: Madelaine Petsch. Personality: Winnie has two sides to her. One she shows more than the other: the side that creates chaos. Upon meeting her, this redhead can be cold and quite snarky. She thrives off fear and intimidating others. She can be shallow and quite selfish, going so far as to manipulating people to get what she wants. She can be described as devilish. But Winnie does have a softer side. She loves her friends and family more than anything. She would die to protect them. She also has a kinder side to animals. She’s even stated that she is more empathetic to animals than to other people no matter the species. Why doesn’t she show the softer side more? Because being cold and being a mean girl means she has a lesser chance of being hurt. Biography: Winnie was born Winifred Edith Beauregard, but if you call her Winifred, she will snap you in half. Winnie grew up in a family well respected by other demons. She was very close with her twin brother growing up, even though their parents favored him more. The older she got, the more her parents started to abuse her. It wasn’t enough for them that she was the perfect demon. When she was thirteen, Winnie’s parents sent her and her brother, Charles, down to Earth, to collect human souls. But Winnie fell in love with the power and chaos she exhumed on Earth while Charles fell in love with a fae. Word got back to her parents about who he chose as a “mate,” and Winnie covered for him, helping him run away from their parents. Months after that, her brother’s body was found, and she had a break down. She made a friend in Finn Devereaux, a dragon she met on Earth. He knew the fae that her brother was with, and he helped her figure out who killed Charles. Finn also helped Win cope after her breakdown, giving her the support she needed. After Finn was captured by the asylum, Winnie focused on finding her brother’s killer and getting revenge.
