Just because you understand someones behavior does not mean you have to excuse it. Compassion is not permission. It is one thing to understand the rationale behind someones actions, and another to excuse or sweep them under the rug.

Reminder that if you're leaving Christianity to embark upon a new spiritual path, your new spirituality doesn't have to answer or even acknowledge Christianity at all. You don't owe Christianity any kind of justification; you can just say "nah I'm not into you" and leave it there.

everybody supports disabled people until we’re inconveniencing them.

everybody supports people with chronic pain conditions until we have to cancel plans because we’re in immobilising pain.

everybody supports people with brain damage until we need extra support, until we have memory issues and forget basic information, until we have immobilising migraines.

everybody supports disabled people until we are disabled.

Encountering The Sacred as compassionate space-holder fills me to the brim every time They remind me to just sink back.

The Seasonal Wheel turns: we transition, transform, expand, contract. Personally, I can feel myself slowing down (even more). And I am reminded: “You are held. You are home.” And so it is.

Very random but when you feel like you are starting to hate the religion you’re in, remove yourself from the community you interact with. Like, cut ties and see if your feelings change.

Faith can be the issue but isn’t always one. You just might have gotten into a shitty or toxic group.
