Update 17.04.13
Good evening Tumblr!
So we’ve kinda neglected this blog a little bit. We’ve been so busy that I’ve literally had no time to do it – or have I avoided it because there’s so much to write? I don’t know, but I’ll try and keep it short.
What’s new?
Well, first of all, we’ll introduce the newest member of the TCL family – our new bassist/rock star Josh Peacock. He joined us just before the New Year and played his first show with us in Worksop in late December. As expected he’s absolutely killed it so far and bought a massive amount of low-end groove that was missing before and has proved to be the last piece of this strange and bizarre puzzle we have going on. So here’s a belated welcome aboard Josh!
Outside of all the shows we’ve played and the mini tours since November, we also landed a deal with Destroy Everything Records and are now signed alongside a bunch of amazing bands such as Black Dogs, Azriel, I Divide, The First, We Are Fiction and many, many more that are yet to be announced. Destroy Everything is brought to you by various ex and current staff members of Basick Records and Small Town Records and in conjunction with Hype Clothing- we’re absolutely over the moon with this and we can’t wait to show you all the material we’ve been writing for our upcoming album. If you enjoyed the material you’ve heard so far from us then you’ll absolutely LOVE this! Because of this all of our PR is now handled by Hold Tight! PR, who you can contact at [email protected] should you want is in your magazine/interview us/review us/complain about us.
We also have a bitchin’ new website (www.thecolourline.com) which is almost ready to be launched along with new contact email addresses for bookings & tours ([email protected]), merch enquiries ([email protected]) and everything else ([email protected]). Sorry for the unimaginative email addresses, we tried to do better…
What else? This coming Friday (19th April) we will be supporting Welsh post hardcore giants Funeral For A Friend and Polar in our hometown of Hull at The Welly Club. It’s a huge honour to be even considered for such a support slot and cannot thank everyone enough for recommending us – FFAF got most of us into playing music and our instruments and it’s an incredible feeling knowing that we’ll be supporting them, and more so that we’ll be doing it not even eighteen months into TCL’s lifespan. It can’t come quick enough!
Aside from FFAF and Polar we’re supporting various amazing bands in the coming months such as The Algorithm, Aliases, Red Seas Fire and ExistImmortal (as well as some things we can’t announce yet), and going out on a bunch of weekenders and tours with Our People Versus Yours, Carving A Giant, Gratitude and Cold Night For Alligators, with a whole lot more being talked about and planned as I type.
We’ve restocked some merch and also put some oldies up for preorder on our online store (http://www.bigcartel.com/thecolourline) so please go pick something up so we can afford to run our brand new (old) van! You won’t regret, the tees are proven pussy magnets.
So to finish off – thank you so much to everyone who gives a shit about us. We’re so grateful for every single opportunity that we receive and it’s all down to the support from you, one day we’ll return the favour we promise! Here’s a video of one of our recent tour dates with Dead Harts:
