It's time to talk about Garbage. I know I'm not the only one who laughed when they saw this title. I'm sure the song is going to be beautiful and heartbreaking, but the name is admittedly really funny.

Of course it reminded a lot of us of Trash the dragon from Scaled and Icy. That makes me wonder if we'll actually get to see them again. Unfortunately I don't feel that it's likely, but it would be really cool.

Based on the lyrics we got so far, "Would you move closer?", it sounds like this is another one that could have something to do with Josh. It reminds me of when Josh moved to LA. Maybe this song is Tyler expressing some of his feelings about Josh not living close to him anymore and dealing with the complications of long-distance friendship. If this is the case, it'll definitely hit very close to home for me. (⁠╥⁠﹏⁠╥⁠)

For now that's all I have to say about this song. We don't have much info to go off of yet.

#3 on the Breach tracklist is Drum Show. Now I've talked about this in other posts that I believe we'll get a song on this album where Josh will sing. Of all the songs on the tracklist, I think this is our strongest contender for that to happen. I mean, what better song would there be for Josh than one with drum in the title? If I'm delusional and Josh doesn't sing at all on this album, I think we'll at least get the reference to him during this song and some crazy drum beats.

The lyrics we received for Drum Show are, "I've been this way. I wanted to change". Like with the other songs, I've been reminded of lyrics from other TØP albums. In this case it made me think of the line from Snap Back, "I have seemed to run out of excuses of why I am this way".

Honestly, as excited as I am for Drum Show, I don't have a whole lot of theories yet for it. My best guess for now is just that Josh or Torchbearer will be important to this song. Fingers crossed that we'll get his vocals on this one. 🤞

Next up we've got the song RAWFEAR. There are several things to pick apart with this title. Like I briefly mentioned before, it's the only song that's in all caps. No other song in TØP's discography is stylized this way, not even in Tyler's album No Phun Intended. Another interesting thing about RAWFEAR is that it's stylized as being all one word instead of two separate ones. It's not a real compound word like Cottonwood or Downstairs are, so this definitely stands out as being different.

Why is it written this way? Well, I've seen several people point out that RAWFEAR is an anagram for WARFARE. The title being capitalized could've been an indication that there was something about it that was significant and that we needed to decipher it. Warfare would definitely make sense with the lore, especially since the Banditos are actively at war with Dema and Tyler has always had a war going on in his own mind.

Another possibility I just considered is that this song could have something to do with Blurryface. Consistently when Tyler posts, his style is to have all his words in lowercase. On the opposite end of the spectrum, we have Blurryface, who posts in all caps. I'm not totally confident that this is why there's capitalization, but it's just a thought I'm throwing out there.

The title being all one word immediately reminded me of Heavydirtysoul. That's our most clear example of a TØP song being written like this. I think it's very possible that these two songs will relate to each other somehow. Consider the line "Death inspires me like a dog inspires a rabbit". I'd say that's a pretty good example of a situation where you would feel raw fear.

Now let's take a look at the lyrics snippet we got for RAWFEAR.

"Learning all that really matters is a slow and painful lesson."

This is very reminiscent of the Oldies Station lyrics, "Only consistency in your periphery is fear and the bridge of your nose, and as you move about, you learn to tune them out..." and "You've had your turns with relative pain...In a season of lessons learned in giving up you learn what you can and can't take."

So needless to say, I think this song is going to destroy me. I absolutely can't wait to see what the rest of the song has in store for us!

The first song on our list to get into is City Walls. From the teasers we got these lyrics, "I wonder where you are. I wanted you to show me.".

This definitely concerns me a bit because it seems almost certainly that he's talking about Torchbearer here. I could imagine this being Clancy's mindset after or during the jacket incident. It sounds like if he had been able to see him, maybe he would've done something different. As I wrote this I was reminded of these lyrics from Bandito, "Either way it helps to hear these words bounce off of you. The softest echo could be enough for me to make it through." .

I'm also a little curious about the changing of tense with the two sentences though. We have "I wonder" and "I wanted" , one of which is in the present tense and the other in a past tense. So what we can gather here is that Clancy is still holding onto some hope that Torch is real because he's still actively wondering where he is. His hope is beginning to fade though with the next line as he says he wanted Torch to show him, the implication being that it's a little too late for that now.

Another interesting thing with the City Walls lyrics is how reminiscent they are of a certain part in Polarize. In that song we have the lyrics, "I don't know where you are. You'll have to come and find me, find me.". I find it so cool how we're harkening back to previous songs because it really reinforces the fact that this story is a cycle.

I think it's very possible that we'll get references to other songs with the rest of the tracklist. My theory so far is that almost all of the new songs will have some tie to a song from Blurryface, whether it's lyrically or with the beats.

The last thing I'll bring up about this song for now is the title. City Walls is most likely in reference to the walls of Dema. That's where our story is taking place at the moment after all. The Banditos are at the city's walls fighting while Clancy is up in the tower with Nico. Though he's not at the walls currently, he has seen them from the inside before when he was stuck in Dema. Maybe we'll get a perspective from his experiences on both sides of the walls.

Hey everyone! Sorry I didn't post my thoughts about The Contract after I listened to it. 😅 I've been a bit busy with the move, turning 21, and trying to work on stuff for content creation.

With the tracklist release, the song teasers, and the official album release date being announced, I felt now was the perfect time to come back here. First things first, I'll share the email I received from Twenty One Pilots earlier today:

The thing that's drawing the most attention in this list so far is "RAWFEAR". It's the only title here that's stylized with all caps. Another interesting thing about it is that rather than the two words having a space between them like all the others, the title is all one word.

I won't get into theories about that yet. My plan is to make a post for each of the songs on this list so I can take time to analyze each of them properly. Whenever I make my way down the list to The Contract I'll actually talk about everything in the video that I noticed and pick apart some of the lyrics. Starting tomorrow I'll get to work on my tracklist posts!

Oh, I also want to share with y'all the Trench-themed cake I made for my 21st birthday. It wasn't perfect but I'm still pretty proud of how it turned out

It's The Contract release day!! I'm so excited for the song! Unfortunately I'm literally in the middle of moving today so I might not get to listen when it first comes out, but I definitely will find time later in the day. As for now, I wanted to share this email I got a bit ago:

Alright, let's get caught up on a couple things from the past few days.

Some fans got texts from the band by the same number as "An Evening with Twenty One Pilots". Unfortunately I didn't receive a message, but from what people were saying, it was a link to a YouTube video on the band account. In the video's description we saw this:

This is more likely than not about Torchbearer, our resident "hallucination". We know he's actually real, but since Clancy can't see him anymore, he thinks Torchbearer was just something his mind made up and that he has been in this alone the whole time.

The day after we received a new video on the band account (in the style of the usual Blurryface videos we've been getting). It was deleted incredibly quickly, but some people were able to screen record. This time the voice said something like "but now I plead, just take the deal. I promise you".

I've seen people speculate that this line is from Torchbearer's POV, which makes a lot of sense. It definitely doesn't sound like the same POV from the previous videos. So what it seems like to me is that The Contract is gonna have at least 2 POVs and that it'll be Clancy and Torchbearer having a conversation with each other. Well, I'm not entirely sure if they'll be talking to each other exactly. It sounds like TB is talking to him but Clancy is just talking out loud about what he's experiencing. My hope is that my theory of Josh singing on this album will come true and we'll get to see that here.

Now for today's news. We got a tweet from the band account where the original caption was "THURSDAY" but was changed to "thursday |-/". It was the usual countdown with it now being at 3 days. Unlike all the previous videos, we heard one of the lyrics being sung by Tyler: "...and I'm just trying to stay quiet".

Something interesting though is that the version of the video posted on YouTube has Josh in the beginning as well as Tyler. I thought I had been thinking of the wrong video at first or just imagining it because none of the other versions had Josh, but he is there. I'm curious why the YouTube version specifically has him in it but the others don't.

As I was writing this post, a tweet from Blurryface came in, posting another video. We hear some sort of lyrics at the start but it's not very easy to make them out. What I heard was "...feeling numb". There was then some sped up instrumentals, definitely from The Contract. It ended with the same vocals of Tyler singing as the video from the band account. It's very possible that the lyrics at the beginning were a combo of the lyrics we've gotten before, just all sped up. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case.

With that, we're all caught up! All I can say is that the song sounds awesome so far and I'm unbelievably excited to hear it.

Breaking news!

The closer we're getting to the release date of The Contract, the crazier things are getting. I've just seen reports that the Blurryface account has been DMing people on Twitter with a new video. This is unprecedented behavior.

Sources have been uploading the video for others to view. I've reviewed the footage and from what I could tell, it sounded like the voice said "I want to get out there, but I don't try". This seems to be in reference to the previous videos where the voice mentioned hiding in his house from the necromancer outside.

All we can see in the video is Clancy from the waist down with someone (most plausibly Josh) sitting at his drum set.

In additional news, we got a post from the band account showing us a timer going from 10 to 9 followed by "9 DAYS UNTIL THE CON-TRACT" and some blurred footage.

Though the hyphen is most likely due to the spacing of the text, it did raise a question for our investigative team. Could this hyphen be an intentional decision to create the separate words "con" and "tract"?

Let's look at the definitions of these words.

First up we have "con", which as most of us know, is a word for deceiving/persuading someone of something untrue.

This could have to do with Blurryface lying to Clancy about an agreement/the contract they have with each other.

Then there's "tract". The definition we'll be looking at for this is the one pictured above. By now we're all aware of the religious imagery within the lore, so "tract" having some religious context to it immediately caught the attention of our investigators.

Perhaps in the new song Blurry will be showing up at Clancy's door to give him some sort of pamphlet full of misinformation about the Dema organization in order to convince him to join them.

So on top of the Blurryface post on Twitter this morning, we've gotten a post on the official band account's Instagram

The images in the post are three of the ones from the video earlier. We've got Clancy with the mask and stole over his eyes, as well as Clancy with a blurred face.

What's most intriguing to me is that the caption says "stay quiet." and once again we have the silent part of Paladin Strait attached to the post. The last time they added the silent part of Paladin Strait to an Instagram post was 6 days ago.

Now that Blurryface is back from his weekend off, it's time for another creepy video with song lyrics!

The lyrics we got today were "I have a feeling that necromancer's outside and I'm just trying to stay quiet".

So now we finally know who the "he" is from the lyrics we got on Friday. Our narrator (Most likely Clancy) has been hiding from this necromancer. He knows that he'll be coming for him but he's unsure of what's gonna happen this time when he does, so he's staying quiet and hidden in his home. I feel like it's safe to assume the necromancer we're talking about is Blurryface.

Then we have the visuals for this video. Most of the images were black and white but the last two are red. We also see Clancy wearing the skeleton hoodie with his eyes covered by his stole in 3/5 of the images.

We've gotten a lot of imagery to suggest that Clancy is dead, but I'm not entirely sold on the idea yet. I think he's at a very low point and if something doesn't happen soon in the story he will die, but he's not quite dead as of now. Blurryface seems to want us to think that Clancy died though, most likely to lower our morale.

The fight isn't over yet. Clancy hasn't fallen and Torchbearer will be there to ensure that he doesn't.

Another day, another analog horror-esque video from Blurryface! Today it sounded like the voice said "I check the clock, wondering what he will do this time.". It definitely seems to me like we've been getting snippets of song lyrics that'll be in The Contract. Considering the possible lyrics we got yesterday, this song sounds like it has to do with paranoia. Paranoia about if and when those feelings of self doubt and insecurity are going to rear their ugly heads. I definitely think this will end up being a song that ties into the lore.

It also kinda sounds like they're talking about us in a way. We've been getting these posts from Blurry's account around the same time every few days so some of us probably are "watching the clock" in order to see what happens. We find ourselves "wondering what he (Blurryface) will do this time".

One thing is for certain, we definitely have "all eyes on Breach" now, as their Instagram caption has instructed us to do.

Edit: I've seen some people point out that in the Instagram post, there are some vocals in Lavish that sound like Blurryface. Can this man not leave anything of ours alone?! 😭

Here we are again with some cryptic posts!

First we have our post from the band account. The caption mentions how "The Contract" is gonna be coming out in 2 weeks. In the video itself, we start by hearing Josh talk about how there were 3 shows left of the Clancy tour at the time they filmed that segment. He then goes on to say, "...and that's it for The Clancy World Tour! And then who knows? All I know is that there are 3 shows left and that's it!" and "...because who knows what's happening after that? Because that's it.".

There's a little bit of blurry footage of Josh playing drums and shots of the crowd until they start chanting "Clancy". We then once again see the scene from London N2 where Clancy walks past Torchbearer and doesn't take his jacket, followed by him covering his eyes with his stole. There's a shot of Torchbearer standing in front of Dema burning, but it's such a zoomed in view that it doesn't really look like Dema is what's burning. He looks blurry here as well.

We end the video with a very close up shot of the side of Clancy's face and then the text "June 12th". My best guess would be that they're trying to hint at us what "The Contract" is gonna be about and set the scene for us.

Moving on to the most cryptic thing we got today, the post from Blurryface's account.

It's a dark video where we can't see much besides little glimpses of Clancy. As for the audio, it's a deep voice saying "I check the doors, check the windows, and pull the blinds" he repeats "and pull the blinds" a few times. This definitely sounds like lyrics to a song, most likely The Contract. As for who the voice is, I wanna say it's Blurry but it does sound a little different.

Overall it just seems like they're trying to hype us up for The Contract coming out soon and it's totally working. I can't wait to listen to this song!

So...I thought we were safe from cryptic stuff for at least a few months, but it looks like we're back in the building again.

We've got more posts without captions on Twitter

The red and blue lighting here stood out immediately. In the blue images we can see Clancy without a mask on. We also see him gradually getting further away from Josh until there's just a picture with him by himself, looking defeated. A small thing I noticed that I don't know if it means anything is that in the image of Clancy by himself, there's a bit of yellow lighting we can see in the sea of all that blue.

In the red images Clancy has a mask on in all of them except for the one where he's lying on the ground. In the pic where Josh is present, his face isn't visible at all. It's just kind of a dark void like we saw in the video they posted, "Happy 10 years to Blurryface". This seems like another indication of Clancy being at a point where he can't see Torchbearer.

We got a post on Instagram as well where the only caption was the logo |-/. Once again we're getting blurry photos and several where their faces are either blurry, darkened, or covered. Something that really threw me off is that they added the song Paladin Strait to the post. They don't generally add music to their posts so this might be significant. Maybe it's a little nod to the fact that we're at that point in the story now.

Kind of a side thing, as I was thinking about how we've been seeing images of Clancy with his mask a lot, it reminded me of these lyrics from Message Man

A loser hides behind

A mask of my disguise

And who I am today

Is worse than other times

Anyway, that's all the observations I have for now, but I guess our job isn't over yet. I'll keep an eye out. 🫡

Well, May has been a very exciting month for Clikkies everywhere and the fun continues today with the 1st anniversary of Clancy!

It's hard to believe that it has already been a whole year! It's even harder to believe that we got an announcement for a new album before we even hit the 1 year mark from the last one. I'm so thankful for all the content we've been given lately. This music has been such a huge source of comfort for me over the years.

I remember the first time I heard Oldies Station. It was great of course, but I didn't fully absorb the song at the time. Then one night as I was listening to the album, I really listened to the song and took it in. It's now one of my favorite TØP songs they've come out with. It hit so close to home. It was as if the past few years of my life were being laid out for me in a way I'd never taken the time to process. To add to that, Tyler said that song was for us so we could know how he's doing currently. It makes me so happy to know that we've both managed to make it through, and even though we'll make mistakes, we're ultimately in a better place than we were before.

As always, I could talk about these songs and this band for hours, but I'll spare you all from that today. Maybe once my YouTube channel is up and running I'll do some more in depth videos about it all. For now, happy 1 year Clancy anniversary!! ♥️💛

Y'know what, there's still a chance my theory of Josh singing somewhere on the album could be true! It'd be great for the story and wrapping up the final chapter of it. Whether it's a duet of Torchbearer and Clancy having a conversation, a song from Torchbearer's perspective, or just Josh on backing vocals like during Navigating at the concerts, it would be amazing.

Now that I'm fully awake and able to form thoughts, let's talk about Breach. First off, I wanna say congrats to the people who decoded the word and theorized about it being the title. The Clique is full of geniuses I swear. Also the album is already available for pre-order on the website if anyone didn't know yet!

Now let's look at the definition of the word "breach"

Something here stuck out to me immediately: "a breach of confidence". Yesterday we got that tweet from Blurryface where he said "broke your confidence".

We can also see that a breach is a breaking of an agreement or a failure to observe it. There is such a thing as a breach of contract, and what is the song title they've given us so far? The Contract.

On a different side of things, a breach can be a gap in a defense, especially one made by an attacking army. The Banditos are attacking Dema during the Paladin Strait music video and maybe they'll find a gap in the Dema defense somehow. There's also the possibility of the Dema army breaching the Bandito camp, which is definitely not ideal (⁠ꏿ⁠﹏⁠ꏿ⁠;⁠)

So those are my thoughts on the album title so far. We've also got the cover art to focus on.

Of course there's Torchbearer offering Clancy his jacket like we've already freaked out about from the infamous London N2 incident. We still have neither of them looking directly at each other : (

Something interesting I noticed when I looked at the bigger picture is that they're forming a skull here. The jacket looks like the nose socket and the guys are the eyes. The shadow of the jacket is looking like a mouth and the red lighting is forming the shape of the skull.

I'm still kind of in shock about the album color being red. It makes sense in hindsight with the story focusing on cycles so us cycling back to the Blurryface color is a smart choice.

So, even though I love my color theories, I'm not upset about being wrong. I still had a lot of fun coming up with the ideas and hearing your thoughts about it! This is the most I've ever posted on Tumblr and it has been an absolute blast to engage with the Clique here.
