Texture A Mug - Then Turn It On The Wheel
To discover your true purpose, ask yourself these three questions. How did you engage in play during your childhood? What books do you enjoy reading or which videos captivate you? What activities bring you deep joy? As a child, I adored playing in the mud. I read pottery magazines and watch pottery videos. I enjoy reading about pottery as much as I like making it. Pottery Video Inspiration I…

Taking A Break From Pottery - Painting Christmas Cards
I took a break from making pottery and painted a few watercolour Christmas cards.
Last winter, I had intended to paint Christmas cards using watercolour paints. As the saying goes, ‘the best-laid plans often go awry.’ Ultimately, I didn’t end up painting any Christmas cards. In hindsight, that turned out to be a fortuitous decision. Canada Post went on strike just when holiday shipping began. As a result, those Christmas cards wouldn’t have gone anywhere this year…

Yummy Butter Tarts - Homemade
What food would you say is your specialty? Not to brag, but I make delicious butter tarts. The surgery’s buttery filling runs down your fingers as you bite into the flaky crust that crumbles in your hand, finger-linking good. I made butter tarts for a friend who was a chef in his past life. He said my pastry was better than some pastry chef’s pastry.  The crust is as important or more than the…

A Home is Not Brick and Motar
What does your ideal home look like? A house is what we live in. Houses come on all sizes and shapes from a one room apartment to a 10,000 square foot mansion. A home is how we treat each other. Proverbs 21: 9-10 describes a home. ‘Better to live on a corner of the roof than share a house with a quarrelsome wife or an abusive husband. The wicked man craves evil; his neighbor or family gets no…

No Problem
What is a word you feel that too many people use? When I say thank you to a server, often under 35 years old, they say ‘no poblem’ instead of ‘your welcome’.  I feel like responding,’It is no problem that you are doing a job you are being paid to do.’ I find this statement to be rude.

Start with Paper Templates - It's Easier to Change then Tar-paper
How I created a square ceramic dish
I come from the generation that shopped in physical stores and have transitioned into online shopping. Online shopping is convenient, but sometimes it’s too easy to overbuy. I like the convenience of online shopping. I don’t have to drive to town and wander the stores searching. While wandering stores, it’s easy to buy extra items. I guess this is the same as online shopping. It often takes…
