My favorite part of the exhibit: the very last quagga! The mare died on the 12th of august in 1883 in the zoo in Amsterdam, without anyone realising she was an endling. There are only 23 taxidermy specimens of quaggas, and a lot of them aren't on display due to their fragility

This is one of the two taxidermy quaggas in the collection of Naturalis, and has recently been restored

Now that I’ve gotten permission from the owners, and this little cutie has returned home, I can finally share her with you all!

I had the honor of working on this sweet little hen for a lovely couple who unfortunately lost her to natural causes. We decided to not have her attached to a base so that she could be swaddled in her favorite blanket when she got home ♥️

I hand painted her bill to get it as close to the original as possible. I’m proud to say this is one of my best ducks and easily one of my favorite mounts I’ve had the privilege to work on.

while not completely clean yet, I decided it would be a good idea to post this as its one of my newer additions to my collection. I didn't collect this one myself, but got it off another collector for a relatively affordable price. its my first full skull and I'm very happy to now have it in my possession.
