Luna Nudo And Luna Gusta - The BNK Group

Team BNK was assigned by the Clients to help them upgrade from their own home brand to the St Regis brand. The product improvement plan (PIP) had a clear strategy to upgrade the current premise to the intentional luxury hotel standard. This plan also meant upgrading their F & B outlets. Luna Gusto was designed to be a high profile Jazz and performance bar in the evenings for international guests and corporate clients. By late night on weekends this would then transform into a high energy bar. To complement the penthouse party destination, an F & B outlet curated on a European menu was to be introduced at the upper level which would merge and become part of the bar by night as a private party space. This space overlooked into the main bar below and yet had an identity of its own.

From suspended picture frames of European art to gold customised lights, leather panelling and customised lighting to luxury lounge furniture added to create this upmarket party and fine dine avenue.

Team BNK was actively part of the PIP and worked extensively with Gayatri Ruia (director of the Phoenix group) to help her create this stunning premise.

Gunjay by The BNK Group

This house was designed inward looking than outward because of concerns of visual privacy being disturbed due to surrounding structures. This meant that the interiors had to give a lot of freshness and relief to the eye rather than having dark spaces with darker finishes. With three generations staying in one home, the marriage of material and colour across the home was the important factor while designing the interiors.

The climate being another consideration, small details like the use of wooden floors to create warmth on ones feet during the sharp winter temperatures, were also a strong point of consideration in the design. Security was another major point the client wanted us to consider as his past home had been broken in by thieves. Hence the clever detail of invisible rolling shutters which get camouflaged by the curtains of the home at night was a very key detail to ensure that the interiors didn’t lose its charm when the grills were brought down. From customized designer curtains and cushions to the choice of art, not one corner of this home was left untouched without detail and brought comfort to all three generations of this family.

Taj Hospitality Interior Designers - The BNK Group

The new Taj was designed as a city hotel which had a blend of modernism classical and Indo-Saracenic features. The concept of being the jewel of the Taj group of hotels we chose Ruby, Emerald and Sapphire as our key to design inspiration. These jewels translated into colour themes for different areas with coordinating colours through soft furnishings. The intrinsic ingenuity of detailing right from creating new motifs and making new Jalis, screens, floor patterns was a key feature of the design.

Customized cladding details to new concepts of room layout had to be addressed as the rooms were far smaller than standard Taj room size specifications. The challenge was to retrofit a luxury hotel brand design into an existing hotel structure that was designed for a 4 star category hotel. Right from rooms to suites and public areas, every zone and corner was detailed to the minutest perfection.

In the history of IHCL (Indian Hotels Company Limited), it was the first time a young Indian design agency was given this task and the design reflected the creative energy that team BNK possesses.

Luxury Modern Style House Design Ideas - The BNK Group

 Apartment by the Bay:

This luxury apartment was situated in one of the most prestigious buildings in Mumbai. The client had a clear brief to use blue and white through the house and create a great sense of luxury. Inspired by the colours of Santorini, the design used white as the major colour but in various mediums. From the faux alabaster to the leather, wallpaper, 3D moulded panelled ceiling, the white was introduced as an expression of form rather than colour. The clever interspersing of colour from cushions and rugs creates a serene yet luxurious environment. Handpicked art adds a third dimension to an otherwise neutral palette.

The highlight of the house is the corner seating by the window with a curated light from ‘Serip‘coming over the seating and creating a functional yet sculptural corner of the house. The detailing of this house went to great lengths where for example to camouflage the long corridor adorn with doors to clean up the multiple elements mirror was used effectively.

The dining area has a crockery unit that acts as a buffet replete with hot plates, bottle cooler and an ice cream bin. Carefully thought out wardrobes with inbuilt minibar facility was another new detail introduced into true design. Overall this project is a symbol of luxury meeting and serenity.
