This is how I block acrylic yarn when the object is bigger than my mats.

I set it out on towels, then direct steam from my iron from 1-6" away. As I steam each spot, I pull the knit (blanket, in this case) into shape. I go over it in rows from edge to edge, then go back to adjust any areas that look like they need extra help.

My goal with steam blocking acrylic is to "kill" it, which basically means removing some of the structure from the acrylic and giving it a softer drape. I don't always bother, but this piece in particular was made with cheaper and stiffer acrylic than I would typically use.

Be careful doing this! You can melt acrylic yarn if you touch it with the iron or spread the steam from too close. You also don't want to put your fingers in the direct path of the steam; steam burns suck.

Continuing my work on my Islet Tee! It's fully seamed, and I have picked up for the neckline. I'll get a good picture when I cast off. It's a lightweight linen shirt that will be great for spring.

It's turning out just perfectly, and I am thrilled.

I've uploaded the entire booklet for anyone who wants it. No charge, just have fun! Sorry about the terrifying corn man. There's nothing I can do about him.

Enterprise became Lily's Sugar and Cream, so any of their dishcloth yarns will work perfectly.

Quick Tip: The booklet says to use a 2mm hook unless specified. This is absolutely stupid. Your hands will fall off. Use a 3.5mm. You'll get the tight gauge, and the items will only be about an inch larger. By my estimation, it adds about 20-30 yards for any main color, which is a fair swap for being able to use your hands when you're done.

squares progress: 46/300!

i got another shade of purple so now ive been able to make some squares with the blue thatll be the end of the spectrum. ive been having a lot of fun with color combos and the ◇ shape and diagonal stripe patterns recently.

ive made at least a square a day every day since i got my loom so progress has been steady!

Finally finished my Biblically Accurate Sweater Vest Nd I'm really happy with how it came out. I want to get some more detail shots of it once it's finished blocking, but I was too excited to not share it.

I'm considering doing the work to make it into a publishable pattern, is this the kinda thing anyone would be interested in making?

Sheep are one of my favorite animals, but Valais Blacknose sheep is maybe my favorite out of them. I created this small cross stitch pattern to be used as a patch. If you like it and want to make your own I have the pattern available here.
