The draft should not exist. Drafting people into the military is a violation of human rights. You should not be able to force someone to risk their life. If you can't find enough people who care about a conflict to keep it going then it simply shouldn't keep going. You can't even force someone to donate a kidney using government power, why the fuck can you force them to donate their whole body and life to a cause they don't agree with or don't care about?

but she IS my oc, so i can give a bit of info on her!

- her name is carmine, shes also a domestic shorthair like orion (but ginger tabby instead of black fur)

- she was indeed on the opposite side of the pendulum swing in terms of troublemaking. she was the child in the family who lived up to the unfair expectations of the parents. strait-laced, excellent grades, never made a complaint, and mostly reserved. her and orion had a lot of resentment between them when they were younger since they were often on opposite sides. the golden gifted child and the troublemaker rebel.

- without elaborating on the events that transpired up to the present time, they're far closer now! carmine is a lot less uptight and participates in shenanigans with orion. she doesn't really hold herself to extreme standards anymore. in short, she is sort of "gifted kid that burns out and then becomes a bit of a menace"

- for some fun facts, shes bi!

- she also enjoys music a lot! hasn't gotten around to making her own songs and hasn't decided whether she wants to, but she likes doing covers.

- favorite artists include: paramore, le sserafim, mcr, billie eilish, panic! at the disco, glass animals, and ado. maybe also conan gray

- probably plays a sport of some kind! maybe softball. either way, she's always running around or doing something

his sister is not my oc, so i can't say too much on her! but, his sister is pretty much equal in troublemaking to him (she USED to be the opposite side of the pendulum swing, but that was a veerry long time ago). orion's definitely the worse troublemaker of the two!

ok so i got one of my front teeth chipped while playing some sorta game at this summer camp. i wanna say it was dodgeball but i don't remember. i also got this weird scar on my right hand's pinky knuckle because i broke a plastic hourglass. and at some point i had a scar on my arm because this boy dug his nails into my arm after i accidentally slammed into him while running

Evacuate.

I'm breaking character to speak very seriously. If you're in Florida, do NOT ignore evacuation orders. If you have Floridian friends or family, tell THEM to get out too.

I'm begging you personally.

Back during Hurricane Sandy, which made landfall on the East Coast as a mere cyclone, my stupid ass did not evacuate. I watched it roll in, trapped on the upper floor by rising floodwaters. Vehicles became wrecking balls in the current. Pieces of houses were ripped clean off. The glass on the windows bent-- if the wind was any stronger, they might have shattered.

The storm outside painted the world pitch black. It was like nothing existed outside those bulging windows except rain and chaos. I could only hear the roar of the wind, interlaced by an irregular din of crunching, scraping, and crackling.

It was only when the surge subsided that I learned that those noises were the sounds of yachts and house boats that had been lifted out of the harbor. Unmanned on the current, they crashed into telephone poles, dug trenches in the roads, and ripped through the walls of houses as if they were cardboard. That could have been me.

It was one of the most terrifying ordeals of my life. I survived because I was lucky.

If you've been ordered to evacuate, get out NOW. If you're not scared of "a little rain," you will be terrified by the time it's too late. It will be because you're trapped by an inky black ocean of rising water, surrounded by broken glass and shrieking wind, your little island growing smaller and smaller until you're swallowed whole.

And, for the love of all that is good, IF you're trapped in that situation, DO NOT GO OUTSIDE. Stay where you are safe until you physically cannot. Treat the water with the same caution as if it is alive and wants to kill you.

Be well. Stay safe. Keep your loved ones assured of your wellbeing.
