Mental health refers to a person's overall emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and behave, and impacts our ability to cope with stress, make decisions, and form relationships. Good mental health involves a state of balance and resilience, where a person is able to effectively navigate the challenges and stresses of everyday life.
Maintaining good mental health is important for several reasons:
Quality of life: Good mental health can improve overall quality of life, allowing a person to enjoy their daily activities and relationships. The less you procrastinate, the more you get accomplished, the more you accomplish, the more satisfied you feel. So, how do you do it, set up just about 3 to 5 tasks for the day on your to-do list, do not go to sleep until to complete all the tasks, make sure to include some form of exercise, meditation and skincare routine into your to-do list.
Physical health: Mental health can impact physical health, with poor mental health increasing the risk of physical health problems. According to research published by The American Heart Association, it is important to have an average of 150 heart points or 3 hours of a workout to be done in a week to improve the quality of your sleep, your mood and your appetite. The easiest and the simplest thing that you can do is to walk for 30 mins twice a day, how to amp it up, walk in a park, the woods or anywhere in between nature to drastically important your mood and to set your day to success.
Work and productivity: Good mental health can increase productivity and work performance, allowing a person to effectively manage their responsibilities and achieve their goals. This is where meditation plays a major role, the more you can focus, the more work you can get it done in a short period of time, as explained by Cal Newport in his book Deep Work, active work is always better than passive work, 2 hours of fully focused work will let get more things done than half-assing your work for 8 hours and having a burnout. Also it is recommended to work in a 50 minutes block with a 10 minutes rest period.
Relationships: Good mental health can improve social relationships and increase the ability to form and maintain healthy relationships.
Resilience: Good mental health can build resilience, which is the ability to bounce back from challenges and adversity, and cope effectively with stress.
