can i just. talk about how much i love the it lives series for a sec. it makes me so happy to see that it’s one of, if not the only, choices series that really tries to break away from the cliches that most of the other books seem to thrive on, while still remaining a popular and loved series. not to say that these cliches are always bad, but like, it’s so refreshing to see a book that doesn’t rely on them?

no snarky ‘bad boy’ lis, little to no forced male li interaction, no forced love triangles, and (for the most part) equal opportunities to spend time with a diverse group of female and male lis. the plot twists are always keeping us on our toes, and even though collectibles and lore documents cost diamonds, these don’t hugely influence how enjoyable the game is. the romance options are great, but even if you don’t romance anyone, your non-romantic relationships are still very valuable—in ilitw and ilb there’s your friendships with the gang, and in ilb there’s your relationship with elliot. minor characters are given their own chances to grow (e.g. lily, elliot, noah) and you can (for free!) influence their (gay!) relationships with other people (i.e. britney and robbie).

it has some of the best dialogue of any choices book, ranging from��‘when i get out of this chair, i’m gonna break my other leg kicking your ass!’, to heartfelt scenes discussing mental health and the effects of trauma. not to jinx it but i’ve never read ONE disappointing chapter from the it lives series and i’m really really happy that other people recognise how great this series is. anyway thanks for coming to my ted talk

Lena really is a woman who buys slaves, so she can free them, and train them to be in the highest position they can be, while also giving them emotional support and expressing they don’t have to do anything against their will. Plus she looks like if Gina Torres and Aphrodite had a love child. That’s the kinda bitch she is huh. that bitch .

Pb keeps trying to design scarier and scarier monsters for the it lives series but little do they know they’ve already designed the most terrifying creature imaginable…

okay but Tom arriving and kicking that monster’s ass immediately after it tried to rip MC’s leg off is such a good mirror image to ILITW when Tom could do nothing but watch when his best friend Andy got his leg fucked up by Mr Red’s monster???

Tom being able to save someone he cares about after feeling so useless last time??

I’m so here for Tom’s story this book, I love this boy

Getting to pick your sexual orientation, also being able to be ace, pb making zeph an aro-ace too, griffin a black guy being the MAIN guy, all the characters and LI’s being amazing, the art is stunning af, badass mc who used magic in the first chapter, intriguing plot,cute outfits and mc’s…The elementalists is truly an icon of the ages 🙌
