Prétear: A magical girl anime with a reverse harem
SYNOPSIS
Prétear (新白雪姫伝説プリーティア, Shin Shirayuki-hime Densetsu Purītia), also called Prétear - The New Legend of Snow White aired in Japanon WOWOW from April 4, 2001 to June 27, 2001. High school freshman Himeno has begun a new life with her father and new stepmother, but her world is more of a nightmare than a fairytale. That is, until she is crowned the Prétear by a group of handsome knights. But this is not a story of a damsel in distress! This princess is strong, stubborn, and she has a world to save!
TRIVIA
In the redub, Himeno is called "Birdie" by her father, because her hair hair looks like an upside-down tulip.
Kei's appearance was changed from the manga. He sports a different appearance with paler skin. His hair being short, but parted in the middle with a wave going outward from his face.
PERSONAL THOUGHTS
Now this entry might be the shortest out of all them, not only is the trivia hard to find but it's always one of my least favorite ones I've watched imo.
I can't really feel engaged about what's happening with the story, though it's interesting in most parts like the power system and the blossom romances, I can't really seem to care about it all that much. Probably because I'm too exposed to the magical girls genre and harems regardless if it's reversed or nah is what I dislike the most so I really contribute to that factor lol!
I love Kei honestly especially with his design in the anime, honestly it's giving diva like yes king, slay! My gyaruo king! I was surprised to find out that's not his canon appearance because he honestly looked interesting in the anime tbh.
Speaking of romance, I think the main couple is just the typical anime fashioned couple I see alot, nonchalant guy with cutesy girl that everyone loves, probably another factor as to why I just don't like it that much than what I was expecting.
Thanks for reading my 3rd and shortest entry so far! Lol ┐( ˘_˘)┌

POWERPUFF GIRLS Z: The Powerpuff girls adaptation you didn't know about.
SYNOPSIS
Demashita! Powerpuff Girls Z (出ましたっ!パワパフガールズ Z Demashita! Pawapafu Gāruzu Zetto?, They've Headed Off! Powerpuff Girls Z) or PPGZ aired in Japan on TXN (TV Tokyo) between July 1st, 2006 and June 30, 2007. The plot of the anime differs much from the original series. Professor Utonium was experimenting while his son Ken Kitazawa/Utonium created Chemical Z (a variant of his father's Chemical X) when a local restaurant specialty fell into the Chemical X. Ken uses the chemical to destroy an ice glacier and avoid an ecological disaster. The impact causes white and black Z-Rays to fly across the skies of Tokyo city. The white lights hit Momoko Akatsutsumi (Blossom), Miyako Gotokuji (Bubbles), and Kaoru Matsubara (Buttercup) transforming them into the Powerpuff Girls.
TRIVIA
The series was first announced on April 1, 2005 (a month after the original show ended), many people & fans a like considered it to be an April Fools' Day prank at the time.
The original creator of The Powerpuff Girls, was not involved with the project outside of one meeting with the Japanese producers before the series started, making this the first piece of Powerpuff Girls-related media not to have him involved. The second being the Dance Pantsed special and the third being the 2016 reboot.
This series is a AU (Alternative Universe) from both the 1998 and 2016 ones.
An prototype of the show was presented at Tokyo International Anime Fair 2005
In the second to last episode, Girlz, Beyond Time and Space! / Only a Matter of Time, the original Powerpuff Girls make a little cameo alongside the Giant Fishballoon.
Momoko's personality from her original counterpart (blossom) is the one that's vastly different compared to the rest, she's also directly inspired by Usagi Tsukino from Sailor Moon in how she loves sweets and is crush crazy.
The only adaptation of the Powerpuff girls where none of the girls are directly related to each other
PERSONAL THOUGHTS
As you can tell from my profile, this is the theme/mascot of this Tumblr blog lol!
This show is what got me introduced to anime as a whole, being obsessed with Powerpuff girls, I immediately got hooked onto the show and watched all of it on YouTube (surprisingly). It's one of the most nostalgic for me and I find it much more entertaining than the og source material lol.
My favorite episode in fact was when the rowdy ruff boys were introduced and it was a power trip to watch but very fun. The transformations are also some of my favorite parts of the show, I NEVER skip those honestly, the music, the choreography never gets old imo.
Although I don't really like that they swapped Bubbles' and Blossom's personality, Momoko is more like the og Bubbles while Miyako is more reserved than her og counterpart, this switch is probably due to magical girls tropes but I'm not a big fan of it as I like how they are in the original series.
I also like how it can be emotionally mature sometimes, that one episode where Miyako had a friend who was ill made me cry as a kid but I'm actually not sure if it's a real episode considering it's been so long since I've last watched it so I have no idea if this is a real episode or nah 😭
Honestly you guys should give it a try, this is a great adaptation/remake of the source material (unlike the 2016 one) [Link2WatchHere]. Thank you for reading my second entry in this blog \(◎o◎)/

SUPER GALS! (2001) : The anime about Kogal gals
SYNOPSIS
Super Gals! Kotobuki Ran (超ギャルズ!寿蘭, Sūpā Gyaruzu! Kotobuki Ran) aired in Japan on TV Tokyo between April 1, 2001 and March 31, 2002. It's about three kogal gals, Ran Kotobuki, the self-proclaimed "world's greatest gal" and her two friends, Aya Hoshino and Miyu Yamazaki, also have their own problems and circumstances.
TRIVIA
Three video games have been created by Konami.
In June 2021, GALS! collaborated with popular fashion brand CECIL McBEE, and they also collaborated with Egg Magazine in August of 2021.
So many of the items shown are available in Shibuya's stores.
PERSONAL THOUGHTS
Now I haven't finished the entire anime, I'm only halfway through the first season so take everything I say with a grain of salt ┐( ˘_˘)┌
Super gals is honestly charming in it's own way with episode premises that feel like fever dreams (in a good way). I got hooked on it immediately after finding out it's about the gyaru subfashion, kogal (I just love alternative fashion like gyaru lololol). I honestly adore Ran's character, her strong outspoken personality paired with her brash (and sometimes irrational) actions honestly makes everything entertaining, though she can be annoying sometimes.
The episodes sometimes feels like I smoked 3 packs of cigarettes and took benadryl immediately after, I can't believe Ran just STOLE someone's bag and flexed it to her classmates. Or the fact that there's an entire episode dedicated to Miyu and Ran's brother's relationship which I can't really care about considering that Miyu is around 16-17 while Ran's brother is a FULL GROWN adult which honestly makes me want to drop the anime at times but I stayed for how unironically interesting it can be.
I do have a lot of issues with this anime but then again this an anime from the 2000s, it's going to have A LOT of issues.
Anyways thank you for reading my first entry on this blog dedicated to 2000s anime (^▽^). Follow me if you want me to give out my opinions on other beloved animes from the 2000s era (人 •͈ᴗ•͈)
