I had a few scenarios for Neil venting to Todd after a rough day. Since they both have a few rough days, they take turns hearing out the other <3

1. Neil ranting about his Father, so Todd lets him vent on his lap. He gives Neil head pats to help him feel better. It's a normal conversation but Neil usually just needs Todd to help him think through his thoughts.

2. When they're finally alone, Neil likes to get his emergency cuddles/hugs to recharge from a rough academic day. Todd thinks this is Neil's sweetest "vent" stage because all Neil wants are hugs and attention. These are Neil's lesser rough days, but more of stressful days than when he feels horrible

3. When Neil's having some sort of depressive episode that gets really bad, he confides with Todd while snuggling up to him to soothe himself; It's a combination of 1 and 2 so he's getting more comfort. Todd's presence (In my HC) helps be keep stable and disassociate less. Plus I feel like since Todd is sympathetic and empathetic with Neil, he cries with him too so they just let themselves me vulnerable together
