A Place To Call Home: Season 4 starts September 11
Tumblr media
FOXTEL IS PROUD to announce Season 4 of A PLACE TO CALL HOME will air from Sunday, September 11, at 8.30pm AEST only on showcase.
The 12-episode season focuses on two contrasting social issues in 1954.
The first is the conservative wave of fear generated by the "Reds under the beds" scare surrounding The Petrov Affair.
The second is the wave of liberal change that opened up new social and moral choices for Australians at the time.
Season four’s cast includes Marta Dusseldorp (Sarah Nordmann), Noni Hazlehurst (Elizabeth Bligh), Brett Climo (George Bligh), David Berry (James Bligh), Abby Earl  (Anna Poletti), Arianwen Parkes-Lockwood (Olivia Bligh), Craig Hall (Dr Jack Duncan) Frankie J. Holden (Roy Briggs), Aldo Mignone  (Gino Poletti), Sara Wiseman (Carolyn Bligh), Jenni Baird (Regina Bligh) and Deborah Kennedy (Doris Collins). Guest cast are Tim Draxl (Dr Henry Fox), Mark Lee (Sir Richard Bennett), Brenna Harding (Rose O’Connell) and Robert Coleby (Sir Douglas Goddard).
A proven ratings success for Foxtel, the Season 3 premiere episode of A PLACE TO CALL HOME attracted half a million viewers, making it Subscription TV’s 7th highest rating episode of all-time.
The S3 cumulative audience was 418,000 viewers - the second biggest for a drama series after Game of Thrones.
The series has won international fans and critics. The Wall Street Journal listed APTCH in its Best Television of 2015.
"A Place to Call Home is a captivatingly filmed, deeply romantic drama of immense intelligence distinguished by a uniformly superb cast", said the WSJ.
"An impossibly addictive series set in early-1950s Australia has developed an impassioned following, with its story of the upper class Bligh family, and for good reason.
"It is period soap opera powered by hefty themes like class, money, religion and the long shadow of World War II, not to mention the stellar cast.”
A PLACE TO CALL HOME is produced by Seven Productions for Foxtel. Foxtel’s Head of Drama Penny Win and Seven’s Head of Drama Julie McGauran are Executive Producers. Series Producer is Chris Martin-Jones. The series is created and written by Bevan Lee (Script Executive) and Katherine Thomson is Script Producer. Directors are Shirley Barrett, Kriv Stenders, Catherine Millar and Tony Krawitz.

LOL. That’s exactly how I felt after season 3 :D
Tumblr media
What is this show!!!?????!!!!???
I don’t like calling women hoes but Regina is legit the definition of a conniving hoe
And as bad as I feel for James because I know how hard it is to live in the closet and to not feel accepted, going off and having an affair with the hot doctor isn’t the answer, ESPECIALLY when you freak out and flip off when your wife has an indiscretion. Listen, bud,it’s not all about you
When will Gino stop being a dick? He shouldn’t speak ever and he should be a supportive husbanding he should stop selling stardust and maybe he should pick up a book once in a while and be happy that his wife is so beautiful and smart and ambitious
And can’t Carolyn and Jack be happy for once
And when will Elizabeth get some peace? Let her go to Egypt with that old man!!!!!!! That’s the dream!!! (Minus the old man imo)
AND WHY CANT SARAH AND GEORGE BE HAPPY WHAT KIND OF TWISTED HOE RAPES HER HUSBAND AND GIVES THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE RAT POISON I CANT EVEN WRAP MY HEAD AROUND THAT IS THERE ANOTHER SEASON OF THIS WILL I EVEN BOTHER WATCHING IT

Return of A Place To Call Home gives more than one lesson in history
Tumblr media
A NEW season of Foxtel’s wildly popular drama series A Place To Call Home will give fans another history lesson when it returns to showcase channel at 8.30pm, Sunday on September 11.
Across the 12 episodes, relationships between the key characters will explore two contrasting social issues from 1954 — the reds under the beds communism scare sparked by the infamous Petrov Affair; and the social and moral challenges which liberalised life for Australians.
But the extraordinary wardrobe work of costume designer Lisa Meagher will also provide a dazzling display of that period’s fashions — as modelled here by the show’s leading ladies Marta Dusseldorp, Abby Earl and the ever elegant matriarch, Noni Hazlehurst.
Viewers will be alert to the latter’s return to form in this first release photo from season 4 — after her character Elizabeth Bligh’s life was left in the balance, suffering a heart attack, in last season’s finale.
The gripping story of the Bligh family and its fortune has drawn record audience figures for Foxtel, which saved the series after it was dropped by Channel 7.
It is also winning overseas fans, including The Wall Street Journal which listed it in its best television of 2015.

A Place to Call Home // James & Henry, when it was all smiles and cautious flirting
Do you come down to Sydney very often?
Yes, sometimes.
You’ll dine with me… next time, I hope.
