Events Mistlepath tossed a snake out of camp before it could bite someone. Lilybright recovered from greencough.

Relationships - Amberheart is sharing tongues with Russetfeather. - Tornpaw is happy to run into Velvetstar today. - Mistlepath overheard Tornpaw spreading a hurtful rumor. - Sparrowfreckle is impressed by Daisypaw's competence in any situation. - Daisypaw and Spottedtuft have a long discussion about goals and aspirations, and find that they both have a lot in common. - Russetfeather is developing a crush on Mistlepath. - Lilybright had a difficult conversation with Daisypaw and they now have a deeper understanding of eachother

Patrols

Sparrowfreckle + Daisypaw

the patrol catches the scent of a mouse nearby, but misses it.

Amberheart + Tornpaw

touring through the territory, Amberheart spots a thrush, and begins to quiz Tornpaw on what the best strategy is for catching it. Tornpaw rolls their eyes, and asks why they just can't try catching it. irritably, Amberheart replies that they're welcome to try, and the bird spots Tornpaw coming immediately.

Spottedtuft

Spottedtuft slinks through fawnclan's territory, low to the ground and watchful as they approach the wrenclan border. the moon hangs heavy in the sky, and their eyes dart around, taking in their surroundings - did they make it here unnoticed? they crouch out of sight and wait, still as stone. after a short while, there's a soft call across the border. perking up, Spottedtuft rushes forward, pushing their nose into the fur of a cat from wrenclan. tails entwined, they talk in hushed voices until the stars blink out. with a soft goodbye, each returns home, their clans unknowing of their secret.

Mistlepath + Russetfeather

as the medicine cats' patrol pads out into fawnclan territory, Russetfeather tells Mistlepath about the dream they had last night, and what the starclan vision could mean for fawnclan. Mistlepath shakes their head sadly. they can't make sense of the vision.

Lilybright + Weedfern

it starts snowing soon after the patrol sets out, trying to bring back something for the fresh-kill pile. despite the snow, the patrol manages to hunt succesfully, ambushing the rabbits trying to feast on the fresh grass of newleaf. as Weedfern leads them home there's a sense of security and competence driving them onwards.

Velvetstar + Rootspots

Velvetstar suggest this might be a good chance to practice new hunting techniques with Rootspots. unfortunately, neither cat steps up to teach. it makes everything feel awkward and a waste of time, and the cats give up and return to camp a little irritated.

Challenge rules

This challenge is by Kit | Pings ✔ in the clangen official discord Year 0 Allegiance

Start reading here the rules are copy and pasted here (and a bit modified to add the mod and my preferences)

Basics (Pelt Colors & Hierarchy Plus High Ranks)There are four levels of appearance in this challenge. From best to worst, they are: Beautiful, Pretty, Normal, Ugly

You can choose your own pelt tiers or use the ones below (I recommend 3 pelt types for each of the non-Normal tiers)

Beautiful: Tortie, Calico, points, vitiligo & dom whites

Pretty: braided, broken braided, marbled, rosetted & ticked

Normal: agouti, mackerel, broken mackerel, classic & spotted

Ugly: Single/Twocolour, Smoke

Leader & Deputy positions may only be held by Beautiful cats.

If one of these cats is moved down in the ranks for some reason, they should be demoted from their position and replaced.

Med Cats can be Pretty, or Beautiful.

Punishments for rulebreaking

Beautiful: gets away with their crimes

Pretty: will get a vote on wether or not they get away with it. if they do not, they will be striked.

Normal: will get a strike

Ugly: will be exiled.

3 strikes will cause in an exile

Moving Up in the Hierarchy

Cats may move up in the hierarchy (ex. Normal-pelted cat is considered Pretty) in a couple different ways.

Gaining a scar moves a cat up one tier (ex. Ugly -> Normal, Normal -> Pretty). They're a mark of what a cat has survived, and are highly respected.

To advance from Pretty to Beautiful a cat must gain two scars.

Cats with heterochromia move up a rank.

White spotting may move a cat up depending on the look.

If a Pretty cat has a litter of 3 or more that are all Beautiful, they are considered to have ‘blessed genes’ and are moved up to Beautiful.

If a Normal cat has a litter of 3 or more that are all Pretty (with 1 or more being Beautiful), they are considered to have ‘blessed genes’ and are moved up to Pretty.

Minimum Litter Example: Parent has 2 Pretty kits and 1 Beautiful kit in a litter.

If an Ugly cat has a litter of 3 or more kits and they are all Pretty or Beautiful, the cat is considered to have ‘blessed genes’ and promoted to Normal.

Moving Down in the Hierarchy

If a Beautiful cat has a litter of 2 or more kits that are all Normal or Ugly, they are considered to have ‘bad genes’ and are moved down to Pretty.

If a Pretty cat has a litter of 2 or more kits that are all Ugly, they are considered to have ‘bad genes’ and are moved down to Normal.

If a Normal cat has a litter of 3 or more kits and all of them are Ugly, they are considered to have ‘bad genes’ and are demoted to Ugly.

If an Ugly cat has a litter where half or more of the litter is Ugly, the cat is exiled alongside the Ugly kits.

Normal and higher kits may stay in the Clan, unless you decide otherwise.

This rule applies even if only one or two kits are born.

Mates & Affairs

Ugly cats cannot have mates within the Clan. Affairs with outsiders and their Clanmates are permitted, but not full mateships.

Normal, Pretty, and Beautiful cats may mate with each other freely. Affairs with Clanmates and outsiders are permitted as well.

In the case of an affair or mated pair having kits, evaluate the litter separately for both parents to see if they need a rank change due to the kits.

Accessories (OPTIONAL)

This section features different ways to treat accessories, as I've recieved several questions about it!

Neat Trinket: Accessories act as a "scar" as far as affecting ranking. (ex. Ugly -> Normal; Pretty Cat with One Scar + Accessory -> Beautiful)
