Green screen tattoo: a new trend?
Chroma keying is a visual effects technique for compositing two images or video streams together, based on color hues (usually green or blue). The technique has been used heavily in many fields to remove a background from the subject of a photo or video – particularly the newscasting, motion picture and videogame industries.
And now it seems to be getting into the tattoo world as well. Apparently it started with a TV tattoo done by the artist Josh Herman, followed by the “cartoon lady” from Velle Worthy.

It just recently start to get a lot of attention after Roy Rowlett posted a Rick and Morty tattoo he did. His tattoo is being shared all over instagram and even got featured at the official Rick and Morty instagram page. I reached Roy and he says he saw the style before, but didn’t know who was the original artist at first, the idea came from his client Wayne Krauth. Roy has been a tattoo artist for 14 years and says he has a few more green screen tattoos lined up, so stay tuned on his instagram! What do you guys think of it? ✨ Read more tattoo articles here.
