I could not have done it without the help of locals. They thought me so much about themselves and their way of live. Taking the time out of their busy lives to help with my project. They have been by my side through all the ups and downs. They inspired me and I inspired them to try. All that I have learned and used in this project will be given back to the community. I’ll be visiting them in July to meet and work on this project together.

Should of taken more images when doing my boards but didn’t have the time. was cutting it really close. My product is about simplifying complicated designs and design them to be produced and maintained by locals. My boards have to represent that and all the models are there to back it up.

Thiru was a massive help with taking amazing pictures. took 3 hours of his time to take 600 images, but ended up only using 7 odd.

Deadline was getting really close. I have been sent many images to me by my contacts in Pakistan but they were all low quality. wouldn’t of worked for a hero image. wanted to edit my model into that scenery. the next best thing was going to heaton park which was quite similar to what we have in Pakistan.

I had two panels made some time ago and decided to have an exploded version similar to the frame and the later on combine them. Used parts from older models to make this.

Finally managed to make all the elements work. water turbine spins rapidly without the motor and both tubes now take in water equally which means it won’t flood again.

Had a few issues day with the water overflowing. only one tube takes out water at a time. I sorted it out by making them identical and suspend above water tank.

Had an idea about placing an interactive board which was connected to the AC motor. it will have a fan and a light. with a press of a button the light and fan turn on and next to them there will be information about how much power is enerated and how much things can be powered by it.

Had to make another scale model. the first one had a few small problems. it was a quick and easy fix.

Water test was a success. the wheel spins well without the motor. the water leaking won’t be a problem as the stage will catch it.

Rubber band is attached to a shaft which is connected to the wheel. the band would push the shaft to one side and stops the wheel on the inside from spinning. Best to separate the wheel from the shaft. wheel spins wheel from the water going in.

Added an ac motor, which will run the wheel. the model aim is to just show how it works. but the rubber band would keep coming off. to fix it, i need to secure the frame better to the acrylic.

Came together quite well. It is on the weak side. if not handled properly, it will break. One problem that i faced was the top part where the bearing and shaft goes in. clear acrylic parts where longer so i had to shorten them down to fit.

Quick example of how it works. each blue part is distanced by the clear acrylic. There are markings on the blue and clear acrylic to match them and they only fit in one position.

After a long wait, i finally got my parts for the floating frame idea. i have made it so that the frame is widened, nothing is shooting out. would be harder to make that.

Made a small section for water to sit. just an extra safety net.
