Some reasons why Rookie historian Goo Hae Ryung is a fantastic historical kdrama

1) Female lead, Goo Hae Ryung, is a badass girl doing whatever the hell she wants, says whatever she wants in a male dominant culture and job. More importantly she is not afraid of anyone (not even the king).

2) Male lead, Prince Dowon, is a damn cute prince who treats his subjects like friends, write romance novels and is not bothered by Goo Hae Ryung being bold working woman.

3) No matter how serious the situation is they always add some really funny scenes to make it light

4) Even if it's historical setting the drama feels like it's ahead of it's time.

5) Women in the show are all talented and powerful be it a queen or a clerk

6) It is primarily focused on the female lead which might look like a no big deal but it really is when you really compare it with other dramas.

7) Great cast and characters. Especially, Shin Se Kyung.
