FIVE YEARS WITH THE GODS: what I've learned
Don't fixate on the notion of being "called" by a particular deity or "claimed" by them. It'll only lead to confusion, misinterpretation, or disappointment. Instead, pay attention to your gut. What feels right? What names, symbols, or spheres of influence resonate with you or intrigue you?
Sometimes, we are presented with or drawn to gods we may not expect. In this case, we often need to look past the superficial aspects of a deity to understand why we feel drawn to them.
You will develop an insatiable appetite for knowledge, but let yourself digest information and experiences before proceeding to something new. Set aside time to reflect on your learning. Journaling is the perfect complement to research.
Make sense of your own perceptions and ideas before digging too deeply into the perceptions of others.
Our paths will inevitably wander into unfamiliar fields. Enjoy the journey. Make room for new modes of belief.
You will feel like a beginner for a long time. This is a good sign; it means you're growing something profound...and staying humble.
You are almost always overthinking things.
Feeling stressed out over your spirituality is not a good sign. Adjust accordingly and convey your thoughts to the gods as you go.
It's okay to release a deity from your practice. This does not make you a failure or a terrible person. Relationships change, and so do you.
You will need breaks from your practice. Spirituality is not a side hustle; let go of your guilt and rest.
Doubt and skepticism will be steadfast companions on your journey. Question everything.
In the end, your path belongs to you alone. No one else has power over what you practice.

I remember being a little girl with my friends looking at “spells” we could do to change our eye color, become a mermaid, do “light” or “dark” magic, see our auras, contact spirits, see how we’re going to die, create potions, love spells, perfumes and glamour magic, anything to instill magic into our lives.
Light as a feather stiff as a board, cat scratch, 80 days around the world, ouija boards, creating a ball of energy with our fingertips;
Girlhood is truly just a pipeline for being a witch in the future. Sometimes I forget what I was, simply because as an adult woman I chalk it up to just games. But there’s reality in it, there’s magic in everything we did. We were meant to grow up and hone our powers.
We were meant for this.

"you need specific permission from the gods to worship them!" "that god is NOT for beginners!" "you CANNOT make jokes about or with your gods, you CANNOT refer to them casually ever or they will GET you" "you can't reach out to this god without flawlessly recreating the conditions of temples several thousand years ago!" "the gods/spirits would never stoop to having a mundane conversation with a regular person" i'm going to bite you.
setting up these ahistorical and unhelpful expectations for new people is why we get so many people insecure that if they haven't received a certain kind of omen or communication from their gods that they're somehow gravely disrespecting their gods, simply by praying to them and leaving out an offering. this is how you get people who think they can't say "no" to a god who "claims" them, because the only way to follow a god "correctly" is for the god to approach them and tell them what to do; humans have no agency in this paradigm. this is how you get people who don't want to admit that they're a newbie, who rush into contracts and oaths and converting to a new religion, because they think they've been forbidden to experiment, to try anything that they haven't been outwardly "qualified" for by some kind of external source of validation. we set up the expectation that a person's spirituality has to be strictly defined and litigated by whatever are the most popular social mores in whatever (usually online) sect of our peers we happen to frequent. we set up the expectation that you have to be a special kind of person to have any interaction with our gods at all; is it any surprise, then, when people who are new and insecure in their practice claim to have been specially chosen, to have inherent psychic abilities and connections to the gods, to declare themselves Shaman and High Priest and whatever else? is it any surprise that cultlike atmospheres thrive in spaces where this rhetoric thrives?
if you feel defensive from reading this post, here are some discussion questions: what is it you gain from gatekeeping other people's spirituality? do you think you are helping, or hurting, people develop their intuition and their path? are you really just altruistically trying to keep people from harmful cultural appropriation and protect them from wrathful, slighted deities, or could there be another motivation for your behavior? what makes you so confident in making these sweeping generalizations about so many different religions simultaneously? do you really believe you have the authority to speak on behalf of the gods?

HAIL HERMES - LORD OF COMMUNICATION, AGILITY AND LANGUAGE. GREAT PSYCHOPOMP AND HOLY MESSENGER.
Today Hermes I wish to acknowledge all the good you have done for me. Thank you first and foremost for reminding me to nurture my body in order to nurture my soul. I have struggled a lot with eating lately, and taking care of myself. But it is important to do so in order to evolve in your spiritual practice.
I started working with Hermes in 2022, I had just performed a spell to become more comfortable being vulnerable with others. Initially the intention was to feel more comfortable not wearing a mask around others, and to become less self-involved and narcissistic. I wanted to be able to connect better with other people. A huge revelation came to me which explained a lot of the vulnerability struggles I was having; I found out that I was autistic this whole time. A communication disorder. A social disability. I truly believe that Hermes guided me to this conclusion.
I have kept Him in mind in my travels overseas, retail endeavors and housing situations. Although I worshiped Him with such loyalty I did still encounter harmful situations dealing with other people throughout these situations. I'm now wondering why? What did I need to learn from these situations? I think Hermes wants me to find strength in these realms of problems with people. Thieves who have stolen my money at work and in home environments, people who have made me feel bad and made me question my reality through manipulative language and lack of communication, overworking myself in jobs that treated me poorly, dealing with ableist attitudes, however through these experiences I have also played roles in acting in similar ways.
I have stolen things from people out of petty resentment due to feeling ignored, justifying it with my entitlement. I have been manipulative in my language and accusatory, being dogmatic, not leaving room for discussion despite saying that to people, I didn't truly mean it. It's hard for me to understand others' perspectives in the same way others find it hard to understand my own. I realise I am again struggling with vulnerability again due to the negative experiences I had dealing with people.
Dear Lord Hermes,
How do I communicate in a way that helps me make myself understood? How do I communicate in a way that facilitates change? How do I communicate as my most authentic self? How do I become a better magician? Please guide me with your divine knowledge.

Hii i was wondering if you could help me with a spell (or i guess two?)
I want to keep someone 1) as far away from me as possible and 2) make sure the don't talk shit about me or share any personal stuff about me.
Even just keywords to search for corresponding spells would be great (english isn't my first language and im not sure if i am searching for the right stuff)
thanks in advance!!
Banishing and binding seem like two keywords that would really help you! Banishing the person from your space/life, and binding them so that they don't talk shit. This could probably be done as one spell all together but I personally would do two separate spells, binding them first and then banishing them.
There's no particular reason you have to do it that way, though, I just feel in my gut that it makes more sense. Do what works best for you!
For binding spells I tend to prefer physical objects as the vessel so that I can keep tabs on it. For banishment spells I prefer something I can easily dispose of so that it can symbolize them leaving my life/the situation/ the space.
I hope this helps you get started on your spell-crafting journey!! :>
