Cries echo from the vents, a nightly occurrence as of late. Someone looking for something…or someone. The cries can go own for seconds, minutes, or maybe hours. But they always stop in the morning.

The source of the cries, a small child, with black hair, curled in a ball, they’d given up searching for the night and decided to curl up and cry.

“Where could they be..” was all that could be heard through the child’s small sobs
