I actually really like bow and dough’s dynamic because we’re introduced to the concept of them as siblings as a gag from dough’s first appearance, but they end up actually being found family. dough was likely made inherently knowing that bow was supposed to be his sister, so he’s just confused when she denies it. then they end up being the only ones there for each other at the mansion till marsh and apple arrive, and even then there’s so little to do and the alive people have to sleep, so you just have to talk to each other and he eventually grows on her. even if she doesn’t show it until the finale, and maybe marsh influences her, but it gets to the point where bow, normally selfish, cares enough for him that she ends up trying to save him. dough was made to be bow’s brother but bow chose to be his sister.
