What is beauty? An aesthetic quality that draws a creature to another? Or could it mean so much more than that? The true beauty of something is the purpose and true value something holds. As an artist it’s my duty to express my personal views and values to an audience so they can appreciate the essence of what the artist experiences. With that in mind, how can beauty be described under such an austere definition? It can’t. As a viewers job it is then your responsibility find the message and analyze what’s on the canvas to find the message and to find the beauty hidden inside. Often times when I paint I never picture anything in my mind except spatial and color ideas that appear spontaneous in my mind. In fact that’s how some of my better work appears is when I don’t think and just react. For me art is the intimate act of imbuing your soul for others to see. So people can see what words cant describe. If you truly knew me you would know I can’t physically express my feelings openly and I often bottle everything up. In fact I find the only way I can open up is through artistic means. People ask why are you so talented or how do you have the time to do all the things you do? The real answer is when you can’t tell people how you feel physically you tell them through different ways. Just like speaking a language you develop the skills to communicate with time and practice so do my talents.
