Peryton WIP
(Very unfinished)
For mythical deer in Mythos, I’m planning to inspire each one off of more unique species of deer instead of just using a White-tail all the time like most media does LOL. I thought it would be cool if I based Mytho’s version of Perytons (aka mythical winged deer) off of Tuft Deer! The little hairdo they got going on would be perfect for a feather crest!
For the bird half, I might inspire aspects off of these, but idk just yet LOL.

Harpies WIP 2 electric boogaloo
(Ignore the lopsided text LOL)
“Breeze” is their Sky element sub-group btw. It’s noted because there are also Harpies with the Night element (who of which have the “Stars” sub-group!)

Male and female Tarand redo
This is what they look like on default when they aren’t constantly changing their color and patterns.
On default, they are always a shade of green or yellow with the males having a sort of tiger pattern. however, their big blotchy stripe can be any color shade, no matter the sex of the animal (I just used red and blue for the male and female here)
ALSO, females may not have a tiger pattern by default, but like the males, they can make any pattern they want really when changing color and whatnot.
Tarands In mythology are Greek deer who can change the color of their fur to match any environment, basically making itself invisible. They are also described to be able to also change color depending on their emotion!
For Mythos, I based their design off the moose and made it to where Tarands are probably the biggest species of deer in Mythos (I also made them live in jungles). Thankfully, like how they are described in the legend, these deer are actually quite playful and mischievous and are not as much of a danger and out for blood compared to actual moose LOL.

Redoing the Tarand altogether-
This is a female (because, as you can see, they have no antlers)
Haven’t colored them yet, but I used a lot of moose images trying to get the proportions to look better (because this world’s version of this mythical deer are inspired by moose). It was honestly pretty exhausting to try and make look right… but I think I got it?
Due to the result of the pole, I’m going down the sexual dimorphism path by making the males have a mane and longer hair (and ofc giving them antlers).

Hmmm…
Tarands…
(If it helps, I gave them the Jungle sub-group of the Earth element, also keep in mind that the Tarand can change it’s fur color and patterns into anything)

Tarand
Tarands are a Greek wooly deer who can change the color of its fur to blend in with any surroundings.
Idk why but I wanted to make them a moose-like creature LOL.

(These are just messy concepts)
A male Sianache head (Sianaches are mythical carnivorous deer):
Thought it would be fun to give them antlers that look like hands!
Mer-folk:
They are basically the mermaids and mermen of Mythos, though as you can see, they are more creature than human lol

TLoM Concept Art 2
(NOTE: some are more developed than others lol)
Wendigo:
Kitsune (may redo):
Flame Kitsune (may redo):
Sea Dragon (still a WIP):
Kraken:
-their design is based on the Giant Squid, Octopus, Chamber Nautilus, and some Prehistoric Squid; who of which had shells similar to a chamber nautilus.
Leviathan:
-they are the biggest creature in all of Mythos and live in the deep sea.
-There are multiple Bermuda Triangles of the sorts in Mythos, these creatures are why because, occasionally, they may surface to shallower water.
-They are based on whales and Stoplight Loosejaw fish! Stoplight Loosejaw fish use a red bioluminescent light to cloak itself as most creatures in the deep sea cannot see red due to it being the first color to disappear the deeper in the ocean you go!

TLoM concept art 1
(NOTE: some are more developed than others lol)
Chupacabra:
-Chupacabras carry their babies in kangaroo-like pouches and hop around like kangaroos.
-They molt/shed their skin like lizards.
-They have a wasp-like stinger. it isn’t used to kill, but is instead used to stun their prey (mostly goats) to make them easy to kill.
-They have a powerful and deadly kick due to their sickle claws.
-They are mostly opportunistic hunters, rather running away than fighting. Their favorite food besides goats are eggs (they are known egg thieves).
Bunyip:
Jungle Wyvern:
Sea Wyvern:
Orcs:
-They are as sentient as humans and can walk on all 4s and bipedally
-They are based on Gorillas as you can see! Like gorillas, for the longest time, orcs were seen as blood thirsty monsters (like how they are in actual folklore) but in reality, they are actually quite peaceful!
Alicorns:
-Alicorns have multiple digit toes like prehistoric horses.
-Alicorns can’t open their eyes because they can turn people to stone.
-Alicorns (along side Pegasi) have bizarre and unique mating dances like some birds!
Pixies:

Notes:
1, TLoM takes place on a giant World-Back Turtle. In fact, “Mythos” is not only the name of the world, but the name of the Turtle everyone lives on. There are also no “planets” per se, but World Turtles can have orbiting moons and suns!
2, Space in this world is like an endless ocean with its own creatures and ecosystems!
3, Some creatures can create hybrids, these are called Chimeras! Hybrids between creatures of the dragon family have their own Chimera class due to the creatures of the draconian family being held so sacred. Naturally, these specific Chimeras are called “Draconian Chimeras”. One last thing about Chimeras to note, is that they can have multiple elements at once or can even be elementless!
4, Although elementless, humans are not defenseless and are not treated as such. Due to having no element, they focus on what they *can* achieve rather than what they can’t. Being the most technologically advanced and industrialized of all the creatures in Mythos.
5, Although the Cosmos is its own world entirely, the Cosmic element has no subgroups because they are considered the “Holy Element”. An Element only given to what the creatures of Mythos consider their gods.

Hello! This is a Fantasy World building project I’m working on! It’s still a VERY early WIP so don’t expect it to be consistent atm… but I hope you enjoy what I share here!
This world consists of Mythical Creatures, Cryptids, and more! HOWEVER, please note that these versions of the creatures are not exactly like the legends they are based on! Both in lore and designs!
