I think like a lot of new parents in their situation, defining what they are comes second to their baby. Right now she needs all their love and attention, so defining their relationship beyond co-parenting falls last on the importance scale.

She’s relatable, and beyond that, she’s incredibly intelligent, articulate, dignified, honest and always been consistently authentic in how she expresses herself. That was the whole point—he’s the one who needs them to manage his public image, and he’s likely been calling them this entire time.
