I think that whenever an actor is fired for making racist/sexist/homophobic tweets, it should be written into the series. None of this recasting nonsense or pretending that the character suddenly died or moved away. In the very first scene of the series, one of the characters is like “wait, where’s Dave?” and someone else is like “oh, he’s racist. We don’t talk to Dave any more,” and then literally never mention Dave again.

(also, 2 more things: 1: if that photo has multiple fictional characters, all of the fictional characters in that photo will be your roommates. 2: for characters that can only live in certain conditions, those conditions will be ignored, and they’ll still be able to live.)

i had a thought and i haven’t fully formulated it yet so bare with me, but i think the reason some people think trans men often “pass” better than trans women is because men are allowed to look however they want, fat/short/tall/masculine/feminine/balding/etc and still be considered men while women are supposed to fit a very narrow mold of femininity that often excludes women of color, fat women, disabled women, lesbians, women with lower voices, jewish women and gnc women (including cis women) and this in turn makes it incredibly difficult for trans women to fit in and look like how we think women are supposed to look. obviously not every trans man is going to look cis or be viewed as men because transphobia exists for all trans people, but their male privilege grants them leniency in gender presentation that is not afforded to trans women. it really is misogyny, and transphobic “feminists” need to realize that they’re hurting all women by setting up impossible standards that none of us can meet.
