La muerte looked down at the emperor, curiosity and maybe a little amusement in her gold and red eyes.
"Costume, hm?" The goddess chuckled, a delicate hand hovering at her waist as she watched him circle her.
"Im afraid I dont have a makeup artist, mijo. My name is La Muerte, your parents speak very highly of you Kuzco."
[ @the-gravepainters liked for a random starter! ]
"Now THAT is an excellent Kuzcoween costume. Talk about super detailed, and that coloring?--" He lets loose a low whistle, finger tapping against his chin as he circles around her.
"--Very clever. I miiiiiiight need to borrow your make up artist."

"Mmm....maybe simple fermented fruit wouldnt do any harm instead of products of man like true alcohol?" The goddess hummed thoughtfully
"I do love a good dandelion... though I'm not sure that would do me much good in the way of avoiding the original problem. I mean, I'll try anything once regardless, y'know, but-"

"If you havent dabbled in dandelion wine I highly recommend it."
They should invent an alcohol that doesn't kill crickets in one shot. I feel like I've earned that.

La Muerte is much more one to simply watch the lives of living beings, especially those in which she has wagers.
Her dear HUSBAND on the other hand is much more the type to get involved and meddle in the affairs of man and creatures alike.

It was Día de los Muertos, the most celebrated night of the year; and yet La Muerte didn’t feel much like celebrating. Not in her usual way at least.
She had noticed the amount of her subjects that were being forgotten had grown…and it made her extremely sad. So this year, she decided to do something about it. Not just simply visiting. Leaving her castle, she went to the shanty town to invite these people, who had no one that had put up their photo in the land of the living, to come celebrate the holiday with her.
The goddess actually greeted one of the residents of this place right outside the archway leading to it with a smile.
She knew all of her subjects by name, and he was no exception. “Hola Héctor. Are you enjoying Día de Muertos?” Today she didn’t want to be treated like a goddess, but as a friend to her subjects. She knew today may be hard for the residents of shanty town, hence why she was here.

“Well there are plenty of beautiful sights to see in this city! It’s one of my favourite places to come with my husband just to have a nice day.” She smiled. “If you’d like to rest for a moment, youre welcome to rest here while I wait for him to come back.”
“ You don’t have to call me ma’am, by the way. My name is Catrina, what do you call yourself?”
the-gravepainters:
“Well I imagine you wouldn’t part with it! It suits you quite well.” She smiled down at him. She hadn’t expected to meet such a…well dressed cricket while waiting for Xibalba to return! Him speaking came as a secondary surprise, considering he was wearing clothes.
“Where were you off to in such a hurry?”
“Doesn’t it?” He doesn’t mind preening from time to time and the Fairy had put a lot of magic into this whole getup (’a lot’ might be a bit of an exaggeration, but never mind that). It deserves to be appreciated! Most humans don’t bother noticing.
“But I wouldn’t say I’m - I don’t think I’m headed anywhere in particular, exactly,” though he sounds a bit uncertain. He’d been following along in the wake of some tourist group or another in a bid to see as much as he could before catching the next train. He’s convinced by now he’s lost them, though, and that leaves him somewhat without a destination.
“I’m just sightseeing, ma’am,” he settles finally. “It’s just that we crickets are always in a hurry! Short legs, and all that.”

La Muerte didn’t get time to relax often, especially not with her precious husband. Their previous visit had been cut short due to things happening in the land of the remembered that required her attention --- though now they were back.
She turned to look down at the werewolf with a smile on her painted lips. “Ah! Hola! It has been a while, I’m glad we got to return after cutting out last visit short.”
Indeed, this time she wasn’t alone. Standing with her was an even taller figure; Xibalba. He didn’t verbally greet Wade, just raising an eyebrow in slight intrigue at the others approach.
@the-gravepainters has liked here for a starter (for La Muerte).
Wayne noticed a familiar face as he seemed to get a break from his kids. “Hey, it’s been a while since we’ve last saw each other! How are ya doin’?” He beamed with a hint of exhaustion and kindness.

“Oh no, boy, none of this is a hallucination I can assure you.” The god replied. A chuckle accompanying the words. He was never the first to greet new arrivals and for good reason.
“Considering you’re dead, you’re supposed to be here.” He was not known for his delicate touch, for those who died unexpectedly or suddenly. Though he was in a rather good mood considering with Ernesto’s early death, the wager him and La Muerte had was his win.
@the-gravepainters said: “Hm. I didn’t expect to see you in this realm yet.” (Xibalba for Ernesto)
❝ AAAAH … sí , about that … i’m not supposed to be here … and i knew that tequila i downed before the concert for good luck was a baaaad idea , but surely ⸻ i must be hallucinating now . it’s the … it’s my exhaustion catching up to me ! sí … ❞ is the chuckle he pushes forth convincing enough ? one moment he’s belting his money note at the end of remember me before a vast audience for a charity concert , and now he’s in this strange , colorful world adorned with marigolds and thousands of brilliant lights ; glorious and strange creatures of every color flying in the sky in the distance . ❝ dios mio … es como un cuento de ada … ❞ he utters under his breath , brown eyes wide in disbelief .

leaderintitleonly:
It was strange he was here, that was certain. “I was tol’ when I die, someone woul’ be waitin’ in The Field o’ Rest by The Meetin’ Tree. Usually it’s yer spouse.” He looked around, confused. These weren’t the fields he had been told of. It wasn’t the perfect blue skies or the ancient tree that had seen warriors pass by. Nothing of the sort. “I ‘pose m’very lost.” That wasn’t unusual for him. He had been lost before but this type of lost was different… and frightening. How far had he fallen as a bee? Where had he tumbled down? Why had he slipped through? “Is there… is there a way back? Uh…G-goodness… I ain’t… I ain’t know the way to address ya. M’so sorry. It’s been quite a day…!” He bowed profusely. Maybe this would remind him that he had met far too many beings to try and cling to his feelings now. He couldn’t deny it anymore even if he wanted to try.
“I imagine you’ll find out if those stories are true when you die.” She chuckled. “Considering you won’t belong to my realm, I can’t confirm if your stories are true.”
She stood to her full height, adjusting one of the marigolds tucked into her hair.
“You can call me La Muerte, it’s my name after all. You don’t need to find your way back anywhere, other than your way home. You’re alive and well, just a little turned around it seems. ”

She imagined loving him would feel like falling in love with darkness, frightening and consuming yet utterly beautiful when the stars came out.
