Francis has lots of literary crushes. He falls in love with them and he suffers with them and cries with them and is actually a fanboy. He, as in real life, falls in love with all kind of characters, but it’s always someone who, subconsciously, reminds him of Arthur.

Headcanon that Francis springs random trips on his ex-colonies fairly frequently. They won’t even know he’s there until he’s on his doorstep with groceries he’s certain they need, because “Goodnes, cher, you look thin, I made some proper soup for you, go on, sit, I’ll heat it up while you tell me about how you’ve been.”
