Clara and her nutcracker 💗

I love The Nutcracker so much I had to draw some art for it this year! I was inspired by the Pygmalion & Galatea myth (Clara bringing him to life) and also the “true love’s kiss” trope in fairytales.

(I hope the story is clear from the drawings- essentially Clara kisses him and he comes to life. He kisses her back but it surprises her because she didn’t expect him to actually come to life!)

Hello love your artwork😍, specially doom and gloom they're so cute, in nefarious way😈, I wanted to ask is there any post about doom and gloom and their other animal accomplices, like their personality backstory why they got into crime? things like that

Hmm I haven’t made an official post like that or anything, but I’ve sprinkled things here and there over the years. Maybe I should do a “meet” series for them!

After we got some snow last week, I watched The Nutcracker Prince with my baby. She loved it, which made me smile since it's my favorite version of The Nutcracker (especially since it's very faithful to the original book.)

Finally finished this one. Posted the WIP a few months ago. Also edited it down a lot to keep it simpler. Still got carried away with it though.

Trying to imagine a world that was starting to empty of spirits just as Jack arrived. How not all spirits have human shapes (note to self- never make it a whole environment AGAIN! Had to slap colors on the whole thing! Gah!). How hard it was, from the beginning, for Jack to have interactions even with others of his kind.

Looks like non-humanoid spirits have terrible communications skills. I’m looking at you, moon!

Might have to disappear for a few weeks-months (?), due to work. Possibly mostly just reblogs for a while.
