So when people argue for free speech restrictions by saying that we just want to harass people (ignoring that free speech law and harassment law are different) it puts me on guard. I want to defend myself. I want people to not be controlled

I really, really hope some people on this website read this article and wake up. Because when you say shit like "loli/shota is child porn" or "age gaps and height differences are pedophilia" this is the kind of horror and the kind of monsters you're giving cover to. You're devaluing words that should elicit the same shock and disgust that most people will feel when reading that article. Pedophilia isn't a word to throw around to win an internet argument about fictional characters' relationships. Child porn isn't a phrase to throw around because you want to see legal content you don't like banned. Rape isn't a word to throw around because some adults engage in consensual kinky sex you don't like.

Pedophilia is two men forcing themselves on their adopted children to satisfy unnatural sexual urges. It's finding out your husband is raping your son, and feeling jealous that he did it behind your back instead of including you from the start, then suggesting they start raping the younger son too.

Child porn is filming yourselves raping your children and distributing it online for other monsters to see. It's using those videos to advertise your children for prostitution.

Rape is forcing children who cannot consent to have sex with you. It's using them as sex slaves every single day. It's pimping them out to other men. It's getting caught and then claiming that it's really the kids fault for "coming on to you" and "not saying no".

That's what these words mean. And when you use them as easily and casually as you discuss the weather, you're making it just a little bit harder to find people like this and stop them from committing their abuse.

Way too many people have just the most glaring double standards for their most firmly held beliefs.

The same people who i've seen adamantly against gun violence will cheer on an assassination attempt against Trump or some CEO they've never heard before.

The same people claiming racism is wrong will excuse and ignore it when it doesnt come from a white person, or especially when a white person is victimized.

The same people who are outraged that "kids are in cages" when a republican is in office will be silent, or worse, defend it when a demicrat is in office.

The same people claiming sexism is wrong, that no one deserves physical and sexual abuse will ignore it or laugh at a man being victimized by a woman.

The same people (activists, politicians, news anchors) who insisted "rioting is the voice of the people" when the rioters are on the left will be outraged when the omes rioting for what they believe in are on the right.

The same people insisting that no one deserves to be profiled and punished more harshly for how they were born will have no problem with men being treated like criminals and jailed longer merely for being male.

The same people demanding actors only play characters that match their race will mock others who hold them to the same standard when the changed race is white.

The people who claim to support gender equality will openly ignore (or straight up perpetuate) issues and victims if recognition and support doesnt directly benefit women.

There are just so many examples. I genuinely cannot trust someone who claims to support a cause or is against an inequality because more often than not, there's an asterisk. And often worse, they will putright be part of the problem when the victim is not part of a group they care about.

It's all just so disingenuous, performative and regressive. From entire governments trying to raise their approval ratings all the way down to misinformed pre-teens trying to sound "woke". Nothing is going to change fornthe better if this continues.

Ragatha covers up her true feelings with a veneer of positivity and acts like nothing bothers her for the sake of avoiding conflict. Not only is this a coping mechanism to prevent abstraction, but this doesn't actually have the intended effect on her relationships with others.

While she dotes on Gangle and sticks up for her against Jax's bullying, Gangle sees through it; she notes that while she means well, it's difficult to tell when Ragatha is being genuine or when she's just trying to make someone feel better. Tellingly, when Stupid Sauce removes her filter, she speaks the most openly about others. She explicitly states her dislike of Jax but doesn't want him to dislike her, derides Zooble as a grouch, and even calls Gangle annoying when she's wearing her comedy mask, practically saying she prefers her depressed. In trying to maintain a perpetual state of positivity, Ragatha's kindness comes off disingenuous and doesn't actually help those around her.

Oh, she’s definitely gonna regret saying all that once she sobers up.
