Hi all
So I thought I was done with this place, turns out I'm not. I'm still lifting, I'm actually pretty good at it. I've taken up strongman - great. That's not why I'm back, though. I'm going to try and post stuff about lifting but honestly I just need to write, or type I guess. First things first, I started seeing someone and she is incredible. She's genuinely the best person I've ever met and I cannot get enough of her. Downside is, we aren't seeing each other anymore. She's got a lot of personal stuff on and she's not ready, which is cool, totally gutted but I understand. Now is where it really kicks off. She came round tonight and opened up about everything which I did not expect. Talking about how she cares and trust me, which in all honesty I didn't see coming. We've agreed to be friends and maybe give it another go when she's in a better place. I don't know how I feel about it or maybe I do? I've started to fall for her. Like, genuinely falling for a woman I barely know. I never thought I'd be the kind of guy that'd wait for someone, but I think she's worth the wait. I really don't fucking know where my head is. This piece of writing is disjointed as fuck which might be indicative of my current mindset. I'm telling myself it'll be fine, which is probably a lie, I know I'm going to keep falling for her and covering it up just got save face. Honestly do not expect anyone to read this, if you know me in real life, this stays here. I guess I'm just worried about what's going to happen.

I want to be one of the best ecologists in the country, maybe also get a PhD and lecture about ecology and ethology in the UK. I also want to have a shot at some amateur strongman stuff at some point too.

Log presses at the gym today, not much but it's the first time I'm pressed more than 40kg without severe shoulder pain in 12 months! 70kg for 3 reps - training log to follow tomorrow.

Deadlift day training log
Bit of a shitter today. My deads were sluggish and sloppy so I didn't do all that many, which is a shame as today was meant to be a max test. Deadlifts (kg) - 60 X 10, 100 X 10 X 2, 140 X 6, 180 X 6, 220 X 1, 250 fail. I was really pissed off about this, I think I'm going to do a technique session next week to try and remedy this week's cock ups. One arm rows (kg) - 20 X 10, 30 X 10, 45 X 10, 50 X 10, 55 X 6, 45 X 10 X 3, 25 X 15 very slow squeeze reps. Close grip lat pull down (kg) - 60 X 10, 70 X 10, 75 X 10, 80 X 8. Wide grip lat pull down (kg) - 56 X 10, 67 X 10, 78 X 8. I finished after this as I was too tired and pissed off to do biceps too. I was quite happy with the rows because my form was perfect, but to be honest if I have a bad deadlift I'm automatically moody. On the bright side I got a free shaker from the owner of the gym so I guess that's a win!

Feeling rough as hell this morning
I barely had 5 hours sleep last night which is no where near enough for me to feel half decent. I've now got to get read, make my meals for the day and drive 60 to get to work all in half an hour. I'm not feeling today at all.

Chest day log
I said I was going to start logging and here it is! All in kg unless stated otherwise. Flat barbell bench - 40 X 10 X 3, 60 X 10 X 2, 70 X 10, 80 X 10, 90 X 6, 100 X 6, 110 X 4, 90 X 6, 80 X 6, 70 X 6. Lots of volume today as I was too ill to bench much last week. Incline barbell bench - 40 X 10, 50 X 10, 60 X 10 X 2. Incline machine press - 20 X 10, 25 X 10, 30 X 8, 20 X 12. Cable flys (unknown unit so plate numbers) - 3 X 12, 4 X 10, 5 X 10, 6 X 10 + drop set to 4 X 10, 3 X 25, 3 X 25, 5 X 10. Flat bench pause reps (3 second pause) - 50 X 10 X 5. Struggling to explode out of the bottom of the lift so though these would help, I'm feeling a lot better about technique for next week. I'm training back tomorrow which means deadlifts. I'm looking forward to it to be fair, I felt too ill last week to deadlift so it'll be great to shift some weight tomorrow!

A 360kg leg press for today's session. Also managed to squat 160kg which is the heaviest I've dared go since my ankle/knee injuries. I'm looking forward to the next few weeks of training, I'm only going to get stronger. Also, I'm going to start posing training logs from next week!

I deadlifted again today.
I'm still a bit flued up but I had a great session. Worked my way up all the way to 230kg for 1 rep which was nice. I'm finally getting some of my strength back after my long hiatus from lifting. Hopefully in 6 months time I'll be at my best again!
