Explanation of the Astral Realm

“The Dreamer is the moon the same way the Realist is the sun. The moon cannot shine without the sun like how a lie cannot exist without the truth existing.”

The concept: There are two major entities in the universe called the Realist and the Dreamer. They are in control of all things, divided equally among the two. The two represent contrast, the Realist representing things and ideas such as logic, truth, and the sun, the Dreamer representing imagination, lies, and the moon. After the Dreamer sent down a gemstone that can transport humans from the place they live in(the mortal realm) to where the entities live(the Astral Realm).

People that are in close relations to their respected entity(met face to face) and worship them are called vessels. These vessels can be anyone as poor or rich, as powerful or as weak as they may be. Vessels can bring along messengers, people that connect to their respective entity through one of the vessels.

What is the Astral Realm: It is where the Realist and Dreamer live, a realm consisting of beautiful gardens of nature, love and beauty but also a school learning, strength, and logic. After their argument, the two entities split the Realm into two places.

The Dreamers side: It contains the Temple of the Dreamer(built before the story), La Ciudad de la Luna(1400s), Judgement Hall(1700s), and the Control room(2030s). The Temple consists of a beautiful garden and full of permanent residents of the Astral Realm and converts to the Dreamer. La Cuidad de la Luna is built by Dante Garcia in the 1400s and was meant to become a small place for visitors to rest. The Judgement hall was designed by Gabriel Violette, made to serve justice by one single judge(used to be Gabriel but then he got replaced by Serena).

The Realist’s side: It contains the Realist’s Library(built before the story), the Laboratory of Scholars(In the 14s), and The Wonder’s Forum(In the 2030s).

Terms:

Controllers: a Dreamist social class, consisting of ranked member usually 1-5. This social class was created on 2033 and lasted around 20 years. Wonders: a Realist social class, consisting of smaller ranks in between, not by number but by power. Ones ranked below are all in a group while ones ranked higher are also in a group. This social class was also created on 2033 and lasted more than 20 years.

Travelers: a Dreamist social class, consisting of people who travel through the Astral Realm for frivolous reasons. Made in the late 2020s.

Scholars: a Realist social class, consisting of people that have been studying in the Realist’s library, trying to gain knowledge. Made in the 14s.

The Genevieve journals: Written by Genevieve Auclair, the Genevieve journals consisting of 3 books, one for the Dreamer, one for the Realist, and one for the Astral Realm. These books are hidden from the public.

Theme: Major themes in this book are duality(mainly right and wrong), and differences. This book tells about how people cannot just pick a side sometimes and would have to choose both aspects from both sides. Also, it tells us that just because something is contrasting something else doesn’t make one side right and one side wrong.

Audience: I want this book to be deep and meaningful, about conflict and differences but I also don’t want this book to be boring and not fun to read. I want to focus on the more philosophical aspects of my book, what lies do to the truth and what is the truth but I want people to see that in a cool badass way with charismatic, entertaining characters that relate to the audience while still obtaining a whimsical aspect to them. As a 14 year old inexperienced writer, I’m still very early in development of this story but I want to make a difference somehow and I believe this story that I have already spent 4 years on can do that.

This story kind of has a whimsical vibe to it while still being in history. I guess each book has a different aesthetic since in book one, it has a very ancient feeling of characters in 400 BCE but in book five, there is a glamorous feeling of fame and fortune, completely contrasting the first book. I guess what im trying to do is to build up through each book, to symbolize the spectrum the Realist and Dreamer represent.

Origin story: I started during late 2020, when I saw Hazbin Hotel for the first time. I saw Valentino and thought “that’s a cool name” so I made a character by that same name. From them, I kept grinding, trying to make a story that actually felt like me. Even if Val didn’t make the Final Cut, his new (and very different) design did.
