That's not the derivative though. It's f'(x) = x sec2(x) + tan(x) which looks like this:

And also, this doesn't cover the case g(x)=0 when x is irrational which would manifest as a straight line right on the x axis. I just don't see why that's scary. Like, under what context would you actually need to interact with such a function? If you're just poking around, then like, you're doing it for fun, which isn't scary at all.
