Laughter - Your Laughter
In this poem, the author is talking about their love and telling them not to take away the things that they love the most about them. He talks about how after a long day of being tired, his love’s laughter is what makes him feel better. He also says that the laughter brings out his love. This was important to include because love is enjoyment. Love is supposed to bring out one’s good side and it's always supposed to make the people involved feel like they are happy and care for. Everyone has good days and bad days and it’s important for your loved ones to be there to support you during both. This poem looks at the bright side of a relationship and how important having a significant other is to have in order to feel happy and secure.

Quote
Take bread away from me, if you wish, take air away, but do not take from me your laughter. Do not take away the rose, the lance flower that you pluck, the water that suddenly bursts forth in joy, the sudden wave of silver born in you. My struggle is harsh and I come back with eyes tired at times from having seen the unchanging earth, but when your laughter enters it rises to the sky seeking me and it opens for me all the doors of life. My love, in the darkest hour your laughter opens, and if suddenly you see my blood staining the stones of the street, laugh, because your laughter will be for my hands like a fresh sword. Next to the sea in the autumn, your laughter must raise its foamy cascade, and in the spring, love, I want your laughter like the flower I was waiting for, the blue flower, the rose of my echoing country. Laugh at the night, at the day, at the moon, laugh at the twisted streets of the island, laugh at this clumsy boy who loves you, but when I open my eyes and close them, when my steps go, when my steps return, deny me bread, air, light, spring, but never your laughter for I would die.

Lust - Sonnet 129
In this poem, Shakespeare is talking about lust and implies that it is very shameful. He explains that after people are done having sex with one another, it is despised. I think that in love, intimacy is important as it brings two people together, but often times it is the only thing that brings them together. In today’s society, women are always sexualized and girls are almost always used and manipulated by guys these days. Girls are always made fun of for having sexual desires as it is considered un-lady like according to the norms of society. Girls who are sexually active and enjoy sex are looked down upon. An example of this can be seen in Thirteen Reasons Why as the main female characters are stigmatized by their sexual behaviors and are called “sluts” because of it. Relating this back to Shakespeare's poem, sex is considered a sin and even though people experience joy while having it and despise it right after.

Quote
Th' expense of spirit in a waste of shame Is lust in action; and till action, lust Is perjured, murd'rous, bloody, full of blame, Savage, extreme, rude, cruel, not to trust, Enjoy'd no sooner but despisèd straight; Past reason hunted, and, no sooner had, Past reason hated, as a swallowed bait, On purpose laid to make the taker mad - Mad in pursuit, and in possession so; Had, having, and in quest to have, extreme; A bliss in proof, and prov'd, a very woe; Before, a joy proposed; behind, a dream. All this the world well knows; yet none knows well To shun the heaven that leads men to this hell.

Loss - The Last Letter
This poem addresses the loss in love. It is evident through the words and theme that the author has lost a loved one. First, it talks about remembering the times two lovers spent together and then it talks about how difficult it has become to do things because there is an absence of their loved one’s presence. By the end of the poem they accept that their loved one is gone and say that they too will no longer live. This is sad a poem and I have chose to include it in as loss is a part of love. It is true that nothing good lasts forever and despite love being so beautiful, it too does not. I have lost a loved one before so I can kind of relate to the poem and it can be hard to accept that someone is gone. Things become difficult as its hard to not think about the fact that someone you might have just seen yesterday is now gone forever. The author talks about remembering things and this makes it even more difficult to move on but it is really important to accept it. I think that in the poem, because the author could not accept that their loved one is forever gone, they say that they will not be there to write another letter because they will die. This shows they were unable to cope with the loss and have chosen to kill themselves as well. Even though this is something that can be hard to deal with, one must understand that death is a part of the circle of life and that everyone will eventually be gone.

The Last Letter - p>Its difficult to live now, Because you are not there. It’s impossible to breath now, Because you are not there. My heart fells down, all hopes lays down, Because you are not there. I still remember the last night we met, I still remember the whispering you made. I still feels the touch of yours, I still get the presence of yours. I knew that time that you are a lier, I knew that time it will be over soon , I knew that time this story has no end. Because you will not be there.. Honestly, I don’t wanna live now, I don’t wanna breath now All your sins are blessings to me, All your doings are lessons to me, I will not complaint anything, I will not blame anyone, Because you are not there.. Whatever the situation was, whatever the feelings was, the truth of now is you are not there. This is all i have to say, this is all i wanna feel, this is all i wanna write , This is my last letter to you Because from next moment, I will not be there to live..

Lasting - What is Love?
In this poem, Shakespeare is addressing that love does not change. He talks about how if there are changes in the lover, there should not be changes in the love. A lot of people nowadays only love the external things of their significant other. The author says “Love is not time's fool though rosy lips and cheeks within his bending sickle’s compass come,” which means that overtime beauty is lost but this should not affect how much one loves another. I think that the message this poem gives is important and extremely true. Love is unchanging and infinite and in today’s society people do not understand this as they are quick to change how they feel about someone based on assumptions and little things that do not always matter. If one loves another they should be willing to work through their problems and any obstacles that come in the way of their relationship. But, sometimes loving someone is not enough to be with them as some issues can not be dealt with. Despite this being true, often times after two people seperate, they start to talk bad about one another and hate on each other. I think that this is wrong because if they truly loved each other, they would not be saying the things they are. Going back to the poem, true love does not change no matter what happens and this is something that people in today’s society need to acknowledge and implement. I have included this poem because I think that love that is true is lasting and that even if two lovers don’t work out and move on, their love for each should still exist.

What is Love - Let me not to the marriage of true minds Admit impediments. Love is not love Which alters when it alteration finds, Or bends with the remover to remove: O no; it is an ever-fixed mark, That looks on tempests, and is never shaken; It is the star to every wandering bark, Whose worth’s unknown, although his height be taken. Love’s not Time’s fool, though rosy lips and cheeks Within his bending sickle’s compass come; Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks, But bears it out even to the edge of doom. If this be error and upon me proved, I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

Loneliness - Come to Me
This poem is about two lovers who are a part from each other. The author is explaining the emotions that they are going through while they are at distance. They compare the drug ecstasy to love and say that the the exquisite torture of delayed ecstasy is how they feel. This implies that love is a drug and without it they feel tortured. The poem also implies that both the mind and the body aches for their lover. The author used words like with hunger, crave, ache and yearn which are all similar terms that describe the feeling of being separated from something that means a lot. This poem is directed mainly at two lovers who are in deep love and the feeling of not being together for a certain period of time induces emotions like sadness and sorrow. I chose this poem because it is one of the feelings that one may experience when they are in love with someone. No matter how much time two lovers spend together, it is impossible for them to be with each other at every moment in every day. There is always going to be distance between the two and one may feel loneliness after being away from their significant other for long or any period of time.

Quote
Come to Me- When you’re away from me I long for you... in my thoughts, in the center of my soul. I yearn to see the affection in your eyes... blue depths of love for me. I crave the safe warmth of your arms around me... my cave of comfort, ease and peace. My body aches with hunger for you... the exquisite torture of delayed ecstasy, coming soon, coming soon. I long for you, I yearn for you, I ache for you... Please, bring all that I crave in your incomparable self. Come to me. Come to me.
