Being a wizard is so cool. Imagine if calculus gave you the ability to throw fireballs.

I don't understand people who gatekeep being a wizard behind reading a ton of ancient tomes, or a decades-long apprenticeship under some old fool.
Being a wizard means discovering new spells, whether on the pages of old books, in the songs of the wind or the patterns in the stars.
Being a wizard means staying true to yourself. Being unapologetically weird or whimsical. Wearing a silly hat no matter what other people think.
It means seeing that the world is full of magic, and being unsatisfied with just watching this beautiful mechanism.
If you have the urge to discover the secrets of this world, to touch them with your own hands, to change things and see what happens... That means you're already a wizard.

Look, I know this is a contentious topic, but some of you really have to stop using magic to make all your meals. I understand, I really do, that summoning food out of the ether is convenient, quick and it keeps you fed, and I do it from time to time when my party runs out of rations during a long journey, but you shouldn't subsist only on conjured food.
It doesn't have all the same nutrients as the real thing, and it's also inefficient, since you're using your own mana to produce food. Get your nose out of that spellbook and head to a farmer's market, learn to make a couple simple meals or something, it'll be good for you!
Or if you can't, get a familiar that can cook, or even transmute some copper coins to gold and hire someone to do it for you (if the guards ask I did NOT give you that tip by the way) but by the gods please eat a proper meal every once in a while.
#finally someone talks about this!#conjured food is good in a pinch but making it the old fashioned way is so much healthier in the long run!#wizard tumblr#wizardblr#wizardposting

Now, I wouldn't necessarily say I support violence, the opposite in fact. BUT I do think that wizards are ironically dumb and skeletons are the absolute 100% coolest and if a skeleton kicked a scrawny little wizard into the sun, I would still take said skeleton out for tea.
Just sayin.
#>:(#i am not scrawny i am lanky there is a big difference#just try to kick me into the sun i dare you#wizardposting#wizardblogging#skeleton war

I don't cast "wretched little spells" I cast grandiose and powerful incantations. Which just also happen to be wretched

Teach a wizard to fish. You'll have a fishing buddy who's a wizard. Think about how fucking rad that would be.

... so yeah, life happened.
I've been really sick all summer, so I wasn't able to really do the best dressed and I'm so sorry for that. I'll get to it eventually, so yeah
I'm unsure if I should still host the halloween event, so lmk if there's still interest

How do you. How do you NOT expect a wizard to want to become immortal??? Like hi person with an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and wonder for the world and burning desire to know how everything works and recreate it. You only get max 100 years to experience it all. Sorry.
So OF COURSE wizards pursue immortality. Sure, you can talk about the loneliness of living forever and the boredom of not having an end but guess what else doesn’t have an end. Science. I’ll be very content travelling the world, helping people, and publishing my 39th paper on the solvent properties of moonflowers in potions while you’ve been lying in a grave for 200 years, thanks.
The problem is societal stigma against research into necromancy, which pushes young wizards away from studying ethical and safe methods of immortality and forces them to rely on untested, volatile myths about lichdom, inevitably creating yet another “evil necromancy wizard”. You think they would turn to such means if they had proper support? Proper resources?? You branded them as heretical and insane first! Why are you surprised that desperate, isolated, and stigmatized individuals become what you make them?
Wizards believe that life has more to offer than unfulfilled dreams and a sudden end. And the wizard is RIGHT.

You know, an interesting tumblr transformation that's happened gradually, and which I've seen no one talk about: ask-culture has essentially dropped off to nothing.
By which I mean, asks used to be WAY more of the tumblr economy. They used to be more common to send, and receive, and see. They were integral to the collaborative, forum-like behavior of old tumblr communities, not even to speak on the HUGE number of ask-blogs that used to exist to only be interacted with in ask-form.
I'm not saying this in a vying-for-attention way but instead in an observational way: I used to get way way more asks in like 2015, even with a fraction of my follower count. I wonder if it's due to the homogenization of social media sites? There's a lot more of this divide between "content creator" and "consumer" instead of just a bunch of peer blogs who would talk to each other. "Asks" aren't really a thing on twitter, are they? And as I understand it, the closest thing to an "ask" on instagram or tiktok would be a creator screenshotting some comment and responding to it in a new reel or video or whatever those content mediums are. Are asks just too tumblr-specific? Is that aspect of the site culture dying out as more and more people converge to using all their social media sites in the same way?
