——————
God, this was annoying. Jayce held his face in his hands, he could feel the heat radiating from his cheeks. It’d been forever since he had a mood this bad, why did he have to struggle so much with it now? He blamed the hexclaw. Ever since Viktor came up with the idea for it Jayce had been put in a mood. Not that he wanted it used on him, and not that he didn’t want that either, but its invention made his mind wander about a Vikclaw, if you will.
He also blamed the fact that he had a dream about Viktor wrecking him the night before;
~
“You really think you can take this?” Viktor taunted, already dragging his nails over Jayce’s bare chest. His body jumped as he choked back a laugh. He’d found himself spread across a bed, Viktor’s bed to be specific. His arms were cuffed above his head and each ankle secured with rope, pulling his legs in separate directions.
Jayce chewed on his lip, giving Viktor a sly nod. “And you’re ready?” His fingers swirled down his sides, already producing a titter from him. Jayce nodded more eagerly, a terrified yet ecstatic glint in his eyes. “I’m ready.” His voice quivered but that didn’t deter Viktor’s vicious hands. He slowly spidered his nails over his chest, taking his sweet-ass-time tormenting his sensitive skin. Jayce inhaled sharply before dissolving into a fit of giggles.
“That was fast.” Viktor mumbled just loud enough for him to catch. “Fuck off!” Jayce barked but his protest only earned him ten digits vibrating into his ribs. “I’m sorry? That’s not how you speak to me, now is it?” He made him regret his refute, relentlessly attacking his ribs till he made Jayce cackle.
“Nohoho! I’m sohohorry!” He cried but only got a chuckle from Viktor. “Nuh-uh, it’s too late for that now.” He scribbled down his sides, making Jayce arch his back against the bed and yowl. “You should’ve been sorry before you decided to talk back to me.” He shook his head, his head tossed back in ticklish mirth as he practically cackled his soul away. Viktor’s fingers crept closer to his stomach, making his laughter spike an octave. “Nohot thehehere!” He pulled desperately on his binds but he didn’t budge. His stomach filled with both thrill and dread, mostly the latter.
“Oho, yeah? I thought you said you could take it?” He swirled his nails around his tummy, causing Jayce to kick fruitlessly in his bondage. “Can’t handle a little tummy tickles?” He emphasized by scribbling on his stomach. Jayce was already laughing too hard to respond, all he could do was throw his head side to side and wail. His gentle pressure combined with fast pace was unbearably hellish for poor Jayce. Viktor’s fingers wandered south, stopping in the divots of his hip bones. He meticulously skittered his fingers, effectively breaking Jayce. Tears were already threatening to fall down his cheeks. He couldn’t even open his eyes anymore, his body was completely overcome with the sensations.
“Aww, what good boy.”
~
That was enough to jolt him awake. He woke up warm, tingly, and with a dumb smile on his face.
Of course it was hard for Jayce to even look at him in the lab after his brain made him endure that.
There was no casual way to tell someone you’re ticklish, let alone that you liked it. Liked was an understatement, he craved it. He literally dreamed about being reduced to a hysteric mess. If there was a way to send telepathic messages they needed to discover that soon because there was no way he could ever actually ask for something like that.
They were sitting at the desk, both working on their own respective tasks. Well, Jayce wasn’t getting much done, he was too busy fantasizing about Viktor nibbling his neck or tickling his tummy or squeezing his sides or anything else that wasn’t sitting in silence and working. It was hard to get it off of his mind, especially when it was much more enjoyable to think about than equations or formulas.
“Your mind is occupied.” Viktor hummed, not even bothering to look at Jayce while we spoke to him. The other snapped out of his trance, whipping his head towards his partner. “I- uhm-” He started to fumble over his words but was quickly cut off.
“What are you thinking about?”
“Nothing!” He was much too fast to defend himself.
“Only someone with something to hide responds that quickly. Plus, you bite your lip when you are deep in thought and to me it doesn’t look like you’ve got a lot of work to contemplate.” He gestured to the space on the desk in front of Jayce which only had his notebook flipped open to an empty page. He flipped the book shut as if Viktor didn’t already see his blank notes. He placed his forehead on the desk, letting out a frustrated sigh and running his fingers through his hair.
“I’m just thinking.”
“About what?”
“God, do you have to know everything?” He whipped back to look at his partner who was staring at him with a shifty smirk. “What’s so funny?”
“Something’s bothering you, I just can’t figure out what.” He leaned forwards, elbows on his knees, and studied Jayce’s face with a squint. The careful attention to his expression made Jayce even more nervous, his cheeks tinging pink as he looked away from his partner.
“You’re bothering me.”
“Is that so?”
Fuck. Why did Viktor have to be so goddamn teasy?
“I’ll let it go if you promise to stop being distracted.”
No, don’t let it go. Keep pushing. Find out what was driving him insane and break him with it.
“Promise.” God, he was an idiot. Luckily Viktor knew to keep an eye on him after they ‘returned to work’. Jayce spent the next five minutes sulking with his empty notebook again, occasionally jotting down a doodle or letting out a disappointed huff. Viktor couldn’t say he was any more productive though, he spent those five minutes watching Jayce lose himself in his dream-state. He couldn’t bear to watch him pout, besides, investigating this could potentially be more productive than work.
“Jayce.” Viktor sang, seeing Jayce’s blush go all the way to his ears.
“Leave me alone.”
“So moody.” Viktor scoffed. “You’re not getting any work done.”
“Neither are you.” Jayce retorted, keeping his head turned away from the other.
“TouchĂ©,” Viktor rolled over to his side, “but you also promised me you’d focus.” He scooted all the way up beside him, trying to peek over at his face. Jayce stubbornly turned himself away from Viktor, making him groan. “Seriously, what has you so worked up?”
Jayce’s eyes flicked around, desperately scrambling to come up with an answer.
“I just
had a dream that bothered me.”
“A nightmare?”
Jayce’s hesitance gave him all the indication he needed.
“Ah, an arousing dream then?”
Jayce scoffed, finally turning to glare at his partner. “No.”
“So then what was it?”
Jayce groaned, getting frustrated with his own inability to speak. They really needed to start working on telepathy.
“Did you write about it in your notes?”
Viktor reached around Jayce for his notebook, making him jump in the process. They both froze, Jayce’s face turning a delicious shade of red.
“What was that?” Viktor inquired as he sat back.
“Nothing!” Jayce waved Viktor off but he wasn’t going to back down. He reached up and grabbed Jayce’s chin, forcing their eyes to meet. Viktor smirked at the flush that enveloped his partners face. He gave him a glare that said, ‘oh, really?’
“I just
got scared, s’all.”
“Scared?” Viktor chuckled.
“Yes! I thought you were gonna
” He couldn’t find anything to say. He wasn’t about to admit what he was actually thinking but he still couldn’t come up with any backup lies.
“What? Do this?” Viktor reached out and squeezed his side. He didn’t give it much thought, he figured he could use a more playful gesture to ease his partner up.
Jayce went into shock. This was actually happening. His limbs fumbled around for a moment as he tried to figure out what the hell to do. He settled on an awkward arm defense that left him so obviously vulnerable.
“H-hey! Ha- stop!”
Take the bait.
Viktor could see how Jayce was blatantly leaving himself exposed and tilted his head, why would he defend himself so poorly? He knew he was capable of a lot more than that. That was when it clicked for him. He was trying to get Viktor to tickle him. Holy shit.
“I’m sensitive, Viktor!”
Take the bait.
“Oh?” He retracted his hand, a smirk still plastered on his face. The tone of his voice made Jayce wince, please, take the fucking bait. Unfortunately Viktor knew it was much more fun, and brutal, to play dumb. “My apologies, I didn’t know.” He sat back, prolonging eye contact as he turned back to the desk. He picked up a pen and pretended to go back to work.
Jayce felt his stomach drop. No, this wasn’t how it was supposed to go. Of course Viktor was too nice to provoke him further. He panicked knowing that he was losing his opportunity. An involuntary groan escaped him, making Viktor turn his attention to him once more.
“Can I help you, Jayce?” He hated the way Viktor gave him his full attention. One more groan came from Jayce before he turned to look at his partner. He’d have to get it out somehow.
“I, eh, had a dream about
you.” This was humiliating. He couldn’t even focus his eyes, his face nearly felt like it’d burst from all the blood rushing to it. “Oh? Do tell.” His damn mocking was making Jayce even more lightheaded. Somehow Viktor knew that ignoring Jayce would get him to spill his own beans, he was just too impatient and needy to be taken advantage of.
“We uhm
” He mumbled off.
“We? Did we do something together, Jayce?” He brought his hand up to his upper back, knowing how his nonchalant touches drove Jayce crazy.
“You’re making this so much worse.” He covered his face with his palms, grimacing at the laugh that came from the other.
“How so?”
“By talking to me like that.”
“Ah, sorry, too sensitive?” He emphasized that word, making Jayce’s mind stutter immediately. “I- you-” He fumbled. Viktor chuckled at him again, rubbing his hand in small circles over Jayce’s back. “Yes?”
“You’re messing with me.” Jayce groused.
“Yeah? How so?” He was about ready to strangle Viktor for his stupid taunting tone. The hand that massaged him began to move down, causing Jayce to arch instinctively. It didn’t tickle but god he fucking wanted it to.
“Just-” Jayce cut himself off, fighting his own willpower to speak his truth.
“Yes?” He ever-so-subtly curled his fingers into the side of his waist, making Jayce huff in desperation. That eliminated any doubt in his mind, yeah, he definitely wanted this.
“Fuck- just tickle me already!” The words came out unwillingly but there was no chance of recovery now.
“Pardon?” Viktor’s voice was laced with the mischievous smirk he wore.
“I’m not repeating that.” He was able to bring his eyes back to Viktor’s to give him a scornful stare, but that was a mistake on his part. It only made him thrice as embarrassed as before once he saw how much Viktor was loving this. He wasn’t even trying to hide how thoroughly entertained he was by Jayce’s despair.
“No, no, I heard you. I just think you have a little explaining to do.” He let his hand slyly continue to scratch his side, it wasn’t enough to make him laugh but it was definitely enough to make him feel threatened.
“What do you mean?”
“Well, where did this come from? Is this what your dream was about?” The question struck fear in Jayce’s heart. “Yes?” He looked away again, shrinking into himself.
“So you want me to tickle you because you had a dream about it?” Viktor’s casual use of the word made Jayce cringe.
“No- yes- I mean-” It was nearly impossible for him to get a sentence out when he was so flustered like this.
“Ah, so you wanted it before the dream?” His fingers crept forwards on his torso, tickling the spot where his side and stomach met. Jayce’s breath hitched, both from the question and the touch. It was also more of an observation than a question so Jayce literally could not refute it.
“I
guess so?”
“You guess so?”
“Viktor.” He snapped. “You’re being so mean.”
“What, I’m just trying to gather information!” He applied a little more pressure on Jayce’s tummy, drawing out a choked yelp.
“I’ve kinda
always liked it. And I’ve just been thinking about it more recently because of you and the hexclaw and that stupid dream-”
“Hexclaw?” He asked connivingly.
Shit. He didn’t mean to let that thought slip.
“What is it about the hexclaw?” He mocked, using his fingers to make a claw shape and wriggle against him.
“Stop that.” Jayce warned, his tummy flinching at the touch but his distress did nothing to slow Viktor down. “You’re not even fighting against me. And don’t go changing the subject now. The hexclaw?”
Jayce got clocked. He squeezed his eyes, trying to process the gentle tickles alongside his tease-overstimulated-brain. “I don’t know. It just made me
think.” His voice was strained.
“About?”
“You know what.” He growled, giving him a nasty glare. Viktor wasn’t having any of that though, he pinched Jayce’s side, making him shriek.
“Hey! That wasn’t fair!”
“You’re acting like you didn’t just ask for this.” He brought his other hand into the mix, clawing at both sides now. Jayce slapped a hand over his mouth and balled the other into a fist, slamming it against the desk.
“Aww, c’mon, don’t hide from me, Jayce.” He chirped, taking advantage of Jayce’s conveniently unprotected position by slipping his hands under his arms. That was already too much for him to handle. He slammed his arms to his sides but Viktor’s fingers were already where he wanted them. He wiggled into the skin, making Jayce topple over on the desk in cackles. “There you go.” He let Jayce giggle himself mad while he dug his fingers into his armpits.
“Ohohout!” He howled, kicking his legs underneath the desk. To his surprise, Viktor’s hands retreated. He looked back at him, expecting him to say their little jaunt was over. Instead, Viktor looked at him with a hunger he had never seen before. Jayce’s eyes went wide, his tummy felt like it was doing back flips. What? Why was he looking at him like he was his prey?
“How can we keep your arms out of the way?” He brought a finger up to his chin in thought, eyeing their surroundings for something he could restrain him with.
“Oh-” Jayce stopped himself, he should not be helping Viktor in a position like this.
“Yes, Jayce?” A hand returned to his side, meticulously toying with his skin. “Do you have a suggestion?”
“I- uhh
” He stuttered, eventually taking a deep breath, he didn’t have anything else to lose now, right? Other than his sanity. “The
hexclaw
” It was pitiful how he couldn’t even use his words properly. The smile on Viktor’s face was plain evil. “That’s a great idea!” He gave Jayce’s hip a pinch before standing up and patting his back. “Come on.” He was already making his way over towards the hexclaw which was stationed on a desk against the back wall.
Jayce found it impossible to walk himself over to his imminent death. He hung his head, still sat at the desk. This was happening for real this time. He could feel his blush spreading down his neck and his skin grew littered with goosebumps. Was he dreaming again?
“Are you going to come over here? Or do I have to get you myself?”
“Ah- coming!” Jayce shot up and rushed over, sheepishly walking up to the other. Viktor could see how his face flushed and body trembled already. “Nervous?” He teased, Jayce shooting him a blank glare. “No shit.”
“What, I thought you were dreaming about this.” He laughed, adoring how Jayce panicked. “You actually suck.”
“You really shouldn’t be saying things like that to someone who’s about to tickle you.”
Jayce couldn’t help how his body shuddered at the word. Before he could retort with his own witty remark, Viktor grabbed one of his wrists and pulled it above his head. He reached over and grabbed the remote to the hexclaw. A press of a button made the claw menacingly close itself around his hand, effectively trapping his extended arm. Jayce immediately began to tug on his arm but there was zero give. That’s when the panic really set in.
“Wahait, we can talk about his.” He giggled nervously, his unrestrained hand held out in front of him defensively.
“Laughing already? I haven’t even started!” Viktor took position in front of him, taking one last look in his dread filled eyes before he made him regret ever asking for this. Whose dream come true was this? Because it was starting to feel like both of theirs.
Viktor was going to take his sweet time, knowing the longer he taunted Jayce the worse he would break his mind. His nails barely grazed his wrist yet it had immediate effect on him. Jayce gasped, his eyes following every movement of Viktor’s hands. As soon as his touch started descending, a string of nervous titters escaped his lips. “Nohohoho
.” His protest was quiet, knowing it fell on deaf ears anyway. Viktor used both hands to claw down his bicep, making Jayce yelp with ticklish anticipation.
“This is already doing it for you?”
“Oho my gohod, shut up!” He whined. Viktor shrugged, if he had to shut up then someone else had to start laughing. He used both hands to claw at his armpit, he let out a hearty bark before crumbling into giggles. His free hand held onto Viktor’s shoulder but he made no attempt to shove him away. Cute.
“So easy
” Viktor muttered to himself, conveniently loud enough for it to have an affect on Jayce. He whimpered through his laughter, his face somehow getting even redder than before. Viktor decided it was time to change spots, quickly switching his attention over to his tummy and pouncing on him. He prodded and scribbled on his tummy, leaving no space neglected. Jayce screamed, his entire body convulsing at the touch. His laughter became increasingly more frantic, panicked shrieks slipping in between his cackles. Viktor chuckled at how deranged he had become already, and all over a little tickling? Pathetic.
Viktor bounced back and forth between scratching all of his fingers on his stomach and drilling into his armpit. His laughter was grating and inconsistent; getting loud, then squeaky, then silent, and then full of hiccups and squeals.
“Is this what happened in your dream?”
“Ohoh shuhut up!”
“I’ll take that as a yes.” He dug his thumbs into Jayce’s hip bones, making him buck. Viktor laughed at him. “That was good wasn’t it?” He have gave him a few more squeezes before going back to his underarm. He used one hand to tickle his armpit and the other to prod his hip, watching how it made Jayce throw his head back and howl. Jayce’s hand finally migrated off of his shoulder and gripped tightly onto one of Viktor’s wrists. He fought the urge to push him off, but fuck was it difficult.
“Jehesus, Viktor!”
“What? What’s the matter?” He replied smugly, his fingers never once slowing.
“Yohou’re tihihickling me!” Jayce squealed, desperately tugging on his arm but the claw held it firmly in place. Fuck, he really was at the mercy of Viktor who, so far, wasn’t being very merciful.
“I am doing no such thing!” He sounded offended but he didn’t make any effort to stop tickling him. If anything, he started getting more intense the more Jayce mouthed off. “Now stay still, you’re making this very difficult.” He used both hands to vibrate his fingers into each side of his rib cage, sending him into a helpless fit of laughter. His mind and body were both on the brink of breaking. It was unbearable yet exactly what he’d craved. Viktor tried to pinch at his hip but Jayce’s hold on his wrist stopped him.
“Ack- difficult?! Yohohou have mehehe rehestraihihined!” How could he be difficult while he was immobile? Viktor shook his head. “Yet you’re still proving to be difficult.” He clasped onto Jayce’s defending hand. “Perhaps we need to get this other arm out of the way?” He stopped tickling for a moment and attempted to lift his free arm up but Jayce clamped it down as hard as he could.
“I’m sorry, aren’t you the one who wanted this?” Viktor teased, letting his other hand slowly claw at his ribs again, he loved the way his words made Jayce cringe and go red. He let out a pathetic, giggly whine. “Fuhuck, V, it’s too muhuch!” His plea made Viktor laugh.
“Is it really?” He tilted his head. “You said yourself you’d been dreaming about this, no?”
“Stohop bringing thahat uhuhup!”
He leaned in close, getting right up in his ear. “This is exactly what you wanted, isn’t it?” Phew, that made Jayce’s head spin, they both knew the answer yet Viktor still had the audacity to ask. He couldn’t say anything, he let his answer reside in the exhausted laughter that poured out of him. Fortunately for Viktor, his teases distracted Jayce just enough to bring his guard down.
Jayce whimpered out a cry when he felt Viktor grab his other wrist and raise it above his head. He could hear the mechanical fingers uncurling as his hand was brought to meet the other one. Just like that, he was restrained by the hexclaw once again but this time he had zero freedom.
“V-Vik
” He panted, hardly able to open his eyes to even look at him. “Fuck
please
” He was breathless and so visibly distraught. Viktor loved how distraught his ruthlessness made Jayce get. He didn’t want to give him any longer of a break than he already got, he was ready to put him back in misery.
Viktor pulled the hem of his shirt up and slipped his fingers underneath. Jayce gasped at the skin contact, suddenly becoming dizzy again, this was about to get so much worse. Viktor gripped both sides of his waist and squeezed wildly. Jayce was thrown back into his desperate cackling, but this time he couldn’t hunch over, the way his arms were held taut made any wiggles or struggling nearly impossible.
“I cahahan’t!”
“You can’t what? Stop it? Oh, I know.” Viktor’s fingers danced over the middle of his stomach. Jayce thought it was over for him. His body was so pleasantly overwhelmed but it was hard for him to enjoy the sensations while he was also fighting tears. Viktor crawled his nails up his tummy, stopping at his ribs and digging in between his bones. Jayce’s body writhed and his laughter became nonsensical.
“Am I correct to assume the more you panic the worse it tickles?”
“Nohoho!” He kicked his legs but it got him nowhere. His hands were clenched as tightly as they could and he squeezed his eyes shut, succumbing to his fate. Rib tickles turned back into tummy scratches which turned into hip squeezing and then a combination of everything. Jayce’s mind was on its brink, he truly believed this could send him into mania.
As soon as he opened his eyes they were blurry with tears. Fuck, he wouldn’t break like this.
Viktor focused on his stomach again, flipping through a variety of ticklish tactics. He noted what evoked the strongest reactions and used it to his advantage. He skittered above his waistband, making his tummy twitch rapidly. He noticed the slower he teased his skin, the more cries Jayce produced. He tickled him unethically slow, effectively turning his mind and body into slush.
Jayce hiccuped out a sob as a tear finally rolled down his cheek. No, this couldn’t be happening. He wasn’t that weak, he could take a little tickling, couldn’t he? Another tear followed and he let out a genuine sob. He couldn’t believe he was actually crying, it was humiliating in most provocative way. He continued bawling as all of his spots were exploited. This was it for him. Jayce Talis; dead by tickles.
“Aww, what a good boy.” Viktor cooed, caressing his cheek and wiping away some tears as he did. Jayce got a flash of his dream from the night before, did he manifest this into reality? Or maybe his dream was a forewarning of the day to come. Either way he hardly had the effort to process Viktor’s words with the way his mind was scrambled. His other hand continued to violate his tummy, following its bouncing as he laughed.
Jayce panted, dropping his head forward as he sobbed. He was pleading incomprehensibly, shivering while Viktor’s nails grazed his skin.
It was addicting for both of them. Jayce had an itch to get destroyed like this for years and as overwhelming as it was he couldn’t get enough of it. As for Viktor, he was obsessed with a lot of this; the way Jayce’s face scrunched up, how his body recoiled at the slightest touch, his variants of laughter, and how needy he was for it. It’d be hard to get both of them to stop craving this.
Jayce looked up at him depleted, distressed, and desperate. His laughter was silent, tears flowing down his face. He was beautiful like this, all flushed and breathless. They would have to ‘experiment’ with this some more. As cute as he was, they both knew he was far beyond his breaking point.
“Alright, alright, I think you’ve had enough.”
Viktor truly only stopped because he could see Jayce’s face start to turn purple, which didn’t seem like a good sign. If he didn’t put an end to it though they both might’ve gone on forever. He quickly grabbed the remote to release his arms and as soon as he was released Jayce crumpled to the floor.
“Jayce!” Viktor cried in worry but the giggles coming from his partner proved to him that he was more than okay. Still, it didn’t hurt to ask.
“Are you alright?” He knelt down to the other and placed a hand on his shoulder which shook from the residual laughter.
“Mmh soho mehean
never agahain
” Jayce heaved, wiping the tears off of his cheeks.
“You don’t mean that.” Viktor combed his fingers through Jayce’s hair, feeling him relax into the touch. That was insane, for both parties. They had reached a new level of intimacy they had yet to cross before but now that the door was open they knew the lab was about to get a little more interesting. He smiled admiringly at the man in his hands as he melted into his scratches. Viktor chuckled,
“You really are too easy.”

Ask For Help
Tumblr media
Summary: Viktor has a problem and Jayce has to encourage him to ask for help
Word count: 3,872
A/N: I return from the depths of the cave I reside in hello đŸ€Č Lee!Viktor (I love our canonically ticklish little thing) (pt2 is already in the works mwuahahaha) (takes place s1 ooo lab partners oooo)
_____________________
It was another day of countless hours in the lab. As exhausting as those days were, Jayce and Viktor always found it to be the best way to spend them. It was late in the afternoon, their window allowed the sun to shine directly onto the desk they sat at. They’d been bouncing ideas off of one another for hours, only a few actually snowballing into something bigger. They’d traveled back and forth between the desk the chalkboard at least two dozen times, a dance they were all too familiar with.
Of course Jayce noticed Viktor walking a tad slower today, he wouldn’t call himself a good partner if he couldn’t pick up on things like that.
“You alright?” He couldn’t hide the concern in his voice.
Viktor knew he really meant ‘I can tell something’s wrong, what is it?’ He chuckled. “You’re too attentive, Jayce.” He continued walking towards the chalkboard but instead of setting his cane aside like he usually did when he stood, he was leaning against it. That’s when Jayce knew something was really up. “Does something hurt?” He was met with silence, followed by the scratching of chalk. “Vik.” The other still didn’t reply, only shaking his head dismissively as to say ‘just leave it.’ But they knew each other better than that; Jayce knew something was up and Viktor wouldn’t tell him without prying, and Viktor knew Jayce wouldn’t leave him alone no matter how ‘fine’ he pretended to be.
Viktor couldn’t even write in peace without feeling Jayce’s eyes burning through his scalp. “You’re so pushy, you know that?”
“What’s wrong?”
“Proving my point.” When Jayce didn’t reply he knew he was practically talking to a wall. One glance at him and Viktor could see the stubbornness in his face. He rolled his eyes back to his work and sighed. “My back hurts. There, was that just as exciting as you’d hoped for?” He bantered.
“Did you do something to it? Is it because you haven’t been sleeping in a bed? We need to make sure you’re-”
“It’s not that, Jayce.” He cut him off with a chuckle.
“I’ve just been walking more than usual. It hurts when I get on or off my chair.” He gestured back to the rolling chair that sat by the desk. “One of the wheels stopped turning and I haven’t had the time to deal-”
“Viktor!” It was Jayce’s turn to cut him off. “Why didn’t you tell me?”
“It really wasn’t an issue for m-”
“Uhm, yes it’s an issue, you’ve been straining your body! When did it break?”
Viktor shrugged. “Ehh, couple of days ago? I really don’t mind, Jayce. I’ve had much more important things to worry about than a chair.” He proved his own point by returning his attention to the chalkboard and putting more marks down. “If you want to deal with it be my guest, but I’d prefer if you were working on something more productive.” By the time he looked over at him again, Jayce was already over by the desk, chair upside down on the table, investigating where the problem was. Viktor rolled his eyes once more, but he couldn’t help the smile that tugged on his lips. He could pretend to be annoyed but he admired his generosity. Nobody cared about him the way Jayce did, he wasn’t even half as perceptive of himself as his partner was. It was gratifying to have this much devotion from another person.
Within minutes the chair was fixed. Jayce walked it over to the other and gently slid it towards him, letting it bump the side of his leg.
A moment of silence was followed by a meekly “Thank you.” from Viktor.
“You can ask me for help, you know. Don’t be afraid to tell me you need something just because you think it’s inconvenient.” Jayce placed a hand on Viktor’s back, leaning over to look at his face, but he refused to look away from the whiteboard. “There’s people that want to help you, Viktor. Next time you need something just tell me, okay?” He wasn’t going to take any half-hearted acceptance from Viktor, he was serious. He needed him to know that he was there for him, no matter how big or small he felt his issues were.
“Okay.” Viktor had stopped writing to listen to Jayce. “Sorry, I think I just get caught up in our work. It’s easy to overlook
some things.” ‘Some things’ referring to his own health.
“I know, which is why I have to remind you to think about yourself.” Viktor finally looked at him, the two sharing a sympathetic gaze. “Thank you, again, Jayce.” He pulled the chair behind him and grunted slightly as he sat down, his body immediately feeling relief. “God, I’ve been wearing myself out.” He chuckled.
“How about we take a break?”
“Right after you fix my chair? Sorry, Jayce, but I need to take advantage of this for a little while.” Viktor rolled along the whiteboard, stopping at a prototype sketch for some new machine and diving back into work. “I’d appreciated if you helped me, though.”
It took seconds for Jayce to appear at his side with his own stick of chalk. They were slung back into their routine of ideas, notes, and travel between the desk and whiteboard. Minutes turned to hours and after they knew it the whole day had passed.
Their current objective was finding the correct formula for a hex-based-substrate, one of Viktor’s billions of ideas. Although his chair was fixed, his body was still sore from the days of misuse.
Just as he’d noticed his limp earlier, he could tell something was off with the way his partner sat.
“Is your back alright?”
Viktor wanted to curse him for being so observant. He didn’t even notice Jayce come up behind him until he felt a hand on his lower back.
“Ehh- uhm, yes.” He dismissed but a firmer press into his skin reminded him of their earlier conversation.
“Or, I suppose
no.” He set his pen down, reaching up to rub at a spot on his shoulder. “I’m still aching from all my movement over the past few days, but I can’t do much about it other than take some medicine.” His hands returned to his notes but he couldn’t pick his pen up. His body was too tired and his brain too scrambled.
“Let me give you a massage.” Both of Jayce’s hands wrapped around his shoulders and began squeezing before he could get any protest. Viktor, being the stubborn man he was, protested regardless.
“You really don’t need to-”
“What did I say about asking for help?”
Silence followed his question, Viktor had almost accepted defeat. He felt embarrassed enough to ask for his chair to be fixed, let alone a massage.
“I mean I don’t need it. I’ll be fine on my own, Jayce.”
“But it will help, won’t it?” That got Viktor to shut up for good. Jayce let out a triumphant laugh, letting go of his shoulders and pressing his thumbs on both sides of his spine. “Where does it hurt?”
Viktor let his head hang, mostly out of relaxation but partially because his face flushed as soon as Jayce’s hands had touched him and he was not about to let him discover that. “Everywhere.” He chuckled but he was only half joking. He’d been working his body to its maximum, and then some, for years. He’d be lying if he didn’t say everything hurt at least a little. “Just, eh, maybe up on my shoulders?” He wanted to give him some sort of direction so it couldn’t get any more awkward than it already was.
As soon as the words left Viktor’s mouth, Jayce’s hands were back up on his shoulders. He tried his best to feel for the tense spots and work them out. Viktor was already melting under him, Jayce could feel his body physically relaxing from his touch. The first groan that had slipped from him was mutually ignored. It was almost as if they could telepathically feel each others blush and decided it’d be better to leave it. The second time he made a sound he followed it up with a breathy “Fuck.” and a sheepish chuckle.
“Sorry.” Viktor laughed awkwardly again.
“Is this alright?” Jayce avoided asking ‘does it feel good?’, knowing how badly that’d fluster both of them. Viktor nodded, putting the back of his hand over his mouth to prevent any future sounds that would want to escape. Jayce took that as his sign to stop talking and keep going. He massaged in little circles with his thumbs, going across his entire shoulder blades.
Everything was normal until he strayed a little higher up his neck than he’d gone before. Viktor let out another sound but it wasn’t anything like the other ones he’d been making. It was a lot whiner and almost sounded painful.
Almost.
Viktor tried to adjust himself as subtly as he could to get Jayce’s fingers off of that spot. He tried to cover up his whimper as a cough but of course mister observant knew what was up.
“Viktor?”
Fuck. He was already squeezing his eyes shut, practically bracing for impact. He had gone this long without Jayce finding out about that and he wasn’t about to let that change today. Don’t ask. Don’t ask. Don’t ask.
“Are you ticklish?”
He could hear the stupid smirk in his voice.
“Does it even matter what I say?” The defeated tone in his voice made Jayce laugh. “Not really.” He touched the same spot on his neck but with his nails. A shiver ran through his entire body and he instinctively hunched his shoulders. Viktor was persistent in not laughing, but all his efforts started to fail him when those devilish nails started crawling up his neck.
“Jayce.” Viktor hoped that if he sounded threatening enough he’d leave him alone. Unfortunately for him that was a bit difficult to achieve while his voice and body were already trembling.
“Viktor.” Jayce returned in his own teasing tone, which elicited the most satisfying groan from the other.
“No teasing. And- ack! No tickling either.” Viktor nearly crumbled when Jayce’s fingers crept their way along his jawline. He smacked at his hands as if that’d do anything other than earn the chuckle it did from Jayce. If anything he just wanted to look like he was at least trying to fight it.
“No teasing? I thought you’d know me better by now, Vik.” He used all ten of his fingers to scratch at the spots behind his ears, soaking up the panicked yelps and jolts that he was producing from his partner. Viktor’s lips were pressed desperately tight to keep any titters in, forcing him to make awkward peeps and hiccups as one of Jayce’s hands played with his ear and the other skittered across his neck again. After a moment he swapped, tickling the opposing ear and his neck with his other hand. He switched back to using both hands on the back of his neck, never letting him get too used to his touch. It was driving him insane.
Jayce loved how he could hear Viktor breaking.
It was enticing.
“I- ugh! Fuck! You need to stop.” He pushed at his wrists but they didn’t budge.
“I need to? Says who?”
“Says the man you’re torturing!”
“This is torture?” He was hardly scratching at his neck, at least that was from Jayce’s perspective. If you asked Viktor he would say it was overhwelming and mean and hell. “Well, I’d hate to see what you think this is then.” His words sent a panicked chill through Viktor’s body, his struggling quickly becoming more frantic. Jayce dug his fingers into his ribs and wiggled them haphazardly.
Viktor let out an embarrassing squeal, folding over onto the desk in a fit of giggles. He felt his brain spinning but it was likely from fighting off the giggles for so long. He pressed his forehead down on the desk, clasping his arms over his stomach. Jayce started squeezing down his sides till he reached the bottom of his vest. His hands slipped underneath the fabric and started skittering back up. He couldn’t help but laugh at Viktor’s frantic kicking and horrified laughter as his hands crept higher up his torso. His panic became increasingly hysteric the further up his hands traveled.
“Jahahayce!”
“Your ribs are bad, hm?” Jayce asked as his fingers finally made it back to each side of his ribs. Viktor peeled with laughter, his arms squeezing tightly around his stomach as if he could crush his giggles before they escaped.
“Nohohoho!”
“No they’re not bad? I don’t know, Viktor, you might need to rethink your answer.” Jayce kept attacking his ribs, noting the crazed reactions he was eliciting from his partner. Even through his undershirt he was still terribly ticklish.
“Yes- fuhuck! I-” Viktor didn’t even know why he was trying to talk, any word trap Jayce put him in would be resolved with ticklish wreckage. Besides, it was nearly impossible to get a word out through his manic laughter.
“Oho, fuck, this is bad, isn’t it?” He mocked as he vibrated his fingers into his skin. Viktor could feel his eyes start to water as his body was reduced to a puddle. Jayce tormented the spot till Viktor let out a snort.
“Oh my god-”
“Dohon’t even.” Viktor threatened.
“I’m sorry, are you in a position to be bossing me around?” That shut him up. He laughed freely, his legs stomping on the ground every so often. Jayce traveled down his sides again, pinching and scribbling all across his skin, before going back up to his ribs and starting all over again. Viktor’s laughter changed depending on where he was being tickled and Jayce was trying to play him like a piano, relishing the sweet giggles to the hectic shrieks that came from his partner.
How could Jayce stop when Viktor was displayed out all nice for him on the desk like this? He was just too easy to touch, Jayce’s hands practically gravitated towards his body like magnets. He also noted how Viktor hadn’t been fighting much since he started, and he definitely wasn’t fighting right now. That was something he’d taunt him with later. For now he was focused on worming his hands through Viktor’s not-so-impenetrable arm barricade.
“Move your arms.” Jayce sing-songed as he gently scratched at Viktor’s hips. His hands left his stomach for a moment to push Jayce’s away but returned just as quickly as they’d left. Jayce groaned, this time vibrating his fingers into his hip bones. Viktor jumped and barked but refused to move his arms again, knowing what awaited him if he did.
“No.” His voice was muffled against the table.
Jayce was just going to have to come up with something else.
“Viktor.” He sang, taking his hands off of him. Viktor couldn’t see behind him and Jayce’s sudden absence made him panic because he didn’t know where his hands were.
“Noho.” He tittered, curling further into himself.
“It’ll be so much worse if you don’t help me out here, V.”
“No it won’t!”
“Yeah? How do you know?”
“I- uhh
” Viktor couldn’t find any words, his mind was flooded with thoughts of Jayce’s fingers darting across his skin, and the imminent threat of it happening again.
“I’m the one who’s making it bad, eh?”
Viktor shivered, he didn’t even need to be touched, this was torturous enough. He let out a giggly whine, half praying for it to start again so that the teasing was over with. Jayce noticed how Viktor trembled from his words.
“The anticipation seems worse than anything. Wouldn’t you say so?”
“Fuck you.” Viktor spat between gritted teeth.
That was all the fuel Jayce needed to dig in. He attacked Viktor’s lower back, making him sit up and arch. He pulled his arms away from his torso and gripped the edge of the desk. As soon as his arms were out of the way Jayce went in for the kill. He clawed at prodded at his stomach, sending Viktor into his trillionth fit of laughter. He screamed, his body slamming back onto the table. He was far too weak to hold himself up like this. Tears were falling onto the papers below him, his knuckles turning white from how hard he clutched the edge of the desk. He mumbled incoherent protests between the giggly sobs that flowed out of him.
“I’m sorry, can you repeat that?” Jayce ridiculed but was only replied to with bubbly cackles. Viktor didn’t even attempt to form a sentence, he knew he’d get teased to all hell for the mess he’d become.
Jayce reached down and starting squeezing both of Viktor’s thighs, making him jump with each grasp. His hands flew off of the table and gripped onto Jayce’s but he still made no effort to push him away. He kneaded his thighs, loving how it made the rest of Viktor’s body shake. He reached further to prod above his kneecaps which made Viktor let out an amusing screech as he kicked his legs fruitlessly. His hands frantically clutched onto Jayce’s yet he still wasn’t trying to fight him off.
“Ohoh my gohod.” He groaned, making Jayce chuckle and double down, continuing to squeeze along the length of his thighs.
Viktor let go of Jayce’s hands and brought them up to grip his hair, losing himself to his laughter. Jayce could tell he was still trying to fight the sensations. He squealed as his hip bones were prodded, pounding on the table with his fists. Jayce chuckled at him, it really was an enchanting sight.
Viktor couldn’t do anything other than lay limp against the desk and laugh. He’d exerted all of his energy days ago, his body didn’t have enough sleep to fight off this. Jayce went back to antagonizing his thighs and it was sending Viktor into mania.
“I cahahan’t!” He cried, his hands uselessly slapping the table in front of him.
“Can’t what?”
“Tahake it!”
“Aww, really? You seem to be taking it just fine! I can’t see what the issue is.” Jayce dug into his hips again. Viktor’s scream dissolved into giggles and he shook his head. No! He really couldn’t take it! He was going to implode if he didn’t die from the tickling itself. He balled his hands into fists and hit the table so hard Jayce was a little fearful he might break something, if not his bones. A few more squeezes to his hips made Viktor start to hiccup through his giggles.
Jayce only lightened up because he could hear how exasperated Viktor’s laughter was becoming, he refused to completely stop yet though. This was too rare of an opportunity for him to give it up now. He slid his hands under Viktor’s vest again, making him wail in defeat and frustration. The way his body couldn’t defend itself made him feel immensely helpless. Jayce started to tickle his ribs again, but this time much lighter than before.
“Ah- god-” Viktor gasped, he couldn’t say much more than that, he was still recovering from the torment he’d just endured.
“Feeling better?” Jayce taunted, crawling his fingers forwards on his rib cage.
“I sahaid my back hurt.” Viktor growled. “This is not my back.” He huffed, trying to shake Jayce’s fingers off of him with no success.
“You also said everywhere hurt though, right? I’m just trying to help!”
Viktor groaned, he was too witty.
“Yohou’ve been too dihistracted todahay.”
“Is this a distraction? I thought I was helping you.” His fingers scratched oh-so-gently at his rib cage, Viktor squeezed his eyes shut and let out a pathetic sob.
“Nohohot hehelpihing!”
“No? You seem pretty cheery for someone who’s claiming this doesn’t help.” He tickled his way out from under his vest and brought his hands up to scribble at the nape of his neck. Viktor cringed and slapped his hands over his neck but Jayce’s fingers were still able to find every inch of exposed skin.
“Hehey, wasn’t this suhupposed to behe a massage?”
“What do you mean? This is the massage!” Jayce exclaimed, leaning down to taunt in the others ear, “What, you’re not feeling relaxed?”
Viktor snapped his head to the side, his cheek pushed into the desk. He tried to give Jayce a mean glare but his smile was fighting its way through his mug. This was the first time Jayce was seeing his face since he’d started messing with him. His cheeks were flushed pink and he could see tears around his eyes. He’d made him cry. Jayce could feel his own face start to warm up, did he actually tickle him to tears? Did he really get so ruined by this? Jayce’s mind raced with a billion ideas of how to break Viktor with his fingers. He could hardly fathom being that sensitive, it was pathetic in the most charming way.
Jayce cracked Viktor’s mean face by pinching his sides, sending him into a giggly fit of whiny protests.
“Nohoho, plehease.” His voice was breathy and audibly exhausted. “Jahayce.” He begged with desperation. Jayce could see the despair in Viktor’s eyes. He couldn’t tickle him forever. Well

“Okay, okay.” He rubbed his palms on Viktor’s sides, still evoking laughter from him. “Jahayce!” Damn, he couldn’t even massage the feeling away? How sensitive was he? Jayce retracted his hands, letting Viktor work his way through the residual giggles on his own.
“You suck.” He heaved, his body collapsing further onto the desk. Jayce chuckled, opting to rub his back because surely that couldn’t tickle too.
“Jayce.” Viktor snapped, his body contorting as soon as he touched him. He put his hands up and moved off to the side. “Jeez, ticklish much?” He teased, earning the same annoyed glare from Viktor. After another moment of catching his breath, he sat back upright and began fumbling with his notes in front of him.
“What, that’s it? You’re just going to go back to work?”
“What else am I to do? Wait for the next round?” He caught him with his comeback. Jayce stayed quiet, letting Viktor flip through notes and try to settle on something to tinker with. A few seconds of page flipping went by before Viktor paused, the silence catching Jayce’s attention again.
“Thank you.” He wasn’t looking at him, rather, he couldn’t seem to take his eyes off of the desk.
Jayce was genuinely taken aback. He just thanked him? After telling him he sucked? Was he thanking him for stopping?
“For the massage.”
Oh.
Oh.
“You liked it?” Jayce tilted his head at the other who was determined on avoiding his gaze.
Although Viktor couldn’t see his face, he could hear that dumb smile on Jayce’s lips. He felt his face heat up and decided it would be best to stay facing his notes. It had definitely helped him feel better, in whatever way that was. It might not have been a traditional massage but Viktor felt pretty relaxed after it.
Jayce took his silence as a yes.

It’d be so easy. Almost too easy. Viktor would kill him for it, probably yell at him for 45 minutes for breaking his concentration with something so stupid and childish. But it would be worth it just to hear the cute sound Viktor would make when Jayce finally dug his fingers in sides, crawling up to his ribs and playing them like a piano, maybe even drill his thumbs into his hips just to hear him cry–
“What about this one?”
Viktor’s voice broke through his concentration, and Jayce nearly jumped. The slim man looked over his shoulder at Jayce, bringing his arm down from the top of the black board. Viktor has been writing near the top of it for a few minutes now, working on an equation as he mumbled under his breath. His arm had been outstretched over his head so he could reach, and with his whole side exposed like that, his ribs and underarms were on beautiful display for Jayce to stare and daydream.
It was nothing short of a miracle that Jayce had only been thinking those thoughts instead of acting on them, with the way his fingers itched and curled into the leg of his pants just looking at Viktor like that.
Shit, he should probably focus now. Jayce did a quick once over of the equation, making sure he’d have something of substance to say in response. “Uh, yeah it–it looks fine.” Ah yes, a very substantial addition, Jayce Talis. ‘Idiot.’
Viktor quirked a brow. “Just
fine?”
“Yeah I mean it’s
” Jayce cleared his throat, looking over it once again and finally taking in what Viktor was actually doing. “I don’t see anything wrong with it. And once we get it fitted into our earlier calculations, it should be ready to rock-and-roll.” Jayce cringed internally, ‘Oh my god shut up.’
Viktor still looked suspicious, as Jayce rarely seemed caught off guard like that. He turned back to the blackboard, “Well I think it could still use some touch-ups. You should come and help me, my brain is frying from staring at it for too long.”
Jayce swallowed. Dammit. He’d been perfectly content to watch from behind, it was easier to hide his self-made fluster at that angle. But
right fucking next to him? Where it’d be even easier to reach out, pinch a bottom rib, make Viktor squirm and laugh and—
“Jayce. Any day now would be preferable,” Viktor deadpanned, not even sparing a glance as he continued to look at his equation.
“Right, right,” Jayce hopped to Viktor’s side, really trying not to be any sort of distraction in his state. Now next to Viktor, watching through his peripheral, he saw Viktor once again reach up and make a few scribbles with chalk. Above his head. Exposed.
Jayce bit the inside of his cheek, snatching a piece of chalk himself just to have something to hold onto. Why was this hitting him so hard right now? Usually, moods like this were so much easier to suppress, easier to forget about when he finally got himself lost in their work. But right now, their work was more mundane, small touch-ups on calculations they’d been meaning to get to for ages. It had been a very dull day in terms of their work, but inside Jayce’s head, a boring work day meant more time to think about Viktor.
Whether Viktor was
sensitive. Ticklish. What kind of laugh he’d have. Would he giggle? Voice light and breathy, gently squirming and batting at Jayce’s hands while his face flushed at the feeling. Or would he cackle? His body shaking through the force of his laughter, having to clutch onto his own stomach like his reactions were being ripped from him. Maybe he’d beg Jayce to stop, maybe he’d be laughing so hard he’d be unable to even form words around his giggling, maybe he’d wail—
“Jayce, are you quite alright?” Viktor asked, his brow pinched in suspicion as he gave Jayce the one-over. “You’ve been
very distracted today. Not that I don’t appreciate the reprieve from your usual yapping, but your behavior does seem a bit unusual this evening.”
Viktor had taken to leaning against the board instead now, which was a lot easier on Jayce’s overwhelmed mind to take in.
“Sorry, sorry. Just got a lot on my mind, I guess,” Jayce gave his nothing-answer and turned back to the board to make a few marks, hoping Viktor would brush it off like he normally does. Or at least, like he used to do.
He’d been more inquisitive of Jayce lately, actually asking personal questions and even answering some of Jayce’s own. They’d gotten to know each other a lot better because of it, which was great, but it was also coming to bite Jayce in the ass right now since Viktor was able to notice that something was so off with him.
Viktor turned toward the lab’s window, his gaze on the moon shining bright through the glass. There was no telling when it had gotten dark outside, they both tended to very purposefully not look at the clock when they were at work.
Jayce heard him sigh. “It’s late,” Viktor droned, rubbing a tired hand down his face. “I wouldn’t mind taking a break if you’re also interested?”
Jayce’s brows raised in surprise, a little smirk curling at the corner of his mouth. “You’re asking me if we can take a break? Where’s my partner and what have you done with him?”
Viktor gave a small blink-and-you-miss-it grin, “He’s off drowning himself in a river. His brain turned to mush after staring at one equation for nearly 3 hours.” He grabbed his cane that had been leaning against the board, before pointing a finger at himself, “New Viktor, however, just remembered the alcohol he stored in the kitchen months ago for dull days like this. And he’s inviting you to share a drink.” Viktor poked Jayce in the chest, before turning toward the kitchen.
Jayce smiled brightly. “New Viktor’s got some good ideas.”
—
They ended up drinking just a bit more than either had expected to. They weren’t drunk, per se, but their combined buzz had them talking a lot more open than usual. Their conversations felt so easy tonight, and Jayce was starting to wonder why they didn’t drink together more often.
“And the next thing I knew, I had a kitten stuffed down my shirt and a crazy lady passed out on the floor behind me,” Viktor chuckled around the rim of his glass, taking a small sip before continuing, “Little moments like that make me glad I got out of the Undercity when I did.”
Jayce snickered openly, clutching at his glass through the laughter. “I don’t know Vik, that sounds like a great time to me.”
“That’s just because you're a Piltie with minimal Undercity experience. Trust me, a kitten down my shirt was the least of my worries.”
Jayce’s laughter simmered, but his grin never left. He gestured with his glass, “So, what’d you do with it? The kitten.”
Viktor shrugged. “I carried it in my shirt all the way home. I didn’t feel comfortable leaving it with that woman, even at my young age,” He said, before giving a little chuckle at the new memory. “Actually, it was hell getting it back home. I didn’t take it out of the shirt because, before she collapsed, she said she had guys that’d be after me for it. I was naive to believe anyone would recognize the kitten on my walk, but I was young so I’ll give myself that grace.”
Viktor shook his head through a smile, taking another small sip. “But my god, if that thing didn’t tickle me the entire walk home. I must’ve looked insane. Some–hehe–some crippled kid with a lump in his chest, giggling to himself, ” Viktor couldn’t hold back his own snickers at the thought, but of course still scolded Jayce nonetheless. “Stop laughing, this was serious to me at the time.”
When that word, that one word he’d been thinking of all day, rolled out of Viktors mouth, Jayce felt his heart leap. His skin nearly prickled. And now he’s tipsy, and there was no way he could hold back on making sure they stayed on that topic for as long as he could hold it. “So what I’m hearing is, Boy Genius is too ticklish to handle a little kitten in his shirt.”
Viktor rolled his eyes. “I was a child. And I doubt you’d fare any better in that circumstance, even at your grown age.”
Jayce held his hands in surrender. “I never said I’d do any better. But it sounds like you think you aren’t ticklish anymore, which I think is total bullshit.” Jayce couldn’t hold back his smirk if he tried. “Actually, now that I think about it, you’ve just given me a way to get whatever I want in the lab. Maybe I should thank you?”
Viktor pointed at Jayce with the hand he held his glass, a small bit spilling onto the couch between them. “If you dare try something like that, I’ll go back and convince the counselors to have you arrested again.”
Jayce laughed, “Arrested for what? Tickling you?”
The corner of Viktor’s mouth twitched upward, “For a hate crime. You can’t just take advantage of a cripple like that and get away with it.” Viktor claimed teasingly, before growing suspicious of Jayce’s wandering glare. He was staring hard at the glass Viktor held between them, a little smirk on his face. “What? What are you looking at?”
Jayce clicked his tongue, “Hold on, can I just—” He interrupted himself reaching his hand towards the glass, and Viktor was so caught off guard by the action (and a little slower to thinking now, thanks to their couple of drinks) that he let Jayce take the glass from him without any protest.
Jayce took one long swig of the drink, sighing hard as he set it down on the table next to them.
Viktor’s brow furrowed hard. “What the hell was that?!”
“That was me getting your glass out of the way,” Jayce’s smile was wide and his eyes alight with mischief, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. “So I could test out a little theory.”
Viktor’s mind was working slow, but not that slow.
“Oh nonono , Jayce—Jayce, whatever you are thinking, stop thinking it.”
“Why?” Jayce wiggled his fingers as he scooted closer to Viktor, who cornered himself against the arm of the couch. “Nervous you’ll get caught lying?”
“Absolutely not,” Viktor said, “But I cannot promise you won’t get hit.”
“Ohoh that is a price I am more than willing to pay,” Jayce chuckled, before darting a hand out to sneak a quick pinch to Viktor’s side. The reaction was immediate. His partner choked on a sound in the back of his throat as he arched away from the fingers.
“Jayce I swear on everything—”
“C’mon, I never get to see you laugh. If it hurts, I’ll stop?” Jayce offered, and Viktor would appreciate the kind thoughtfulness of that statement had he not been too busy trying to push Jayce’s hands away from his torso. Unfortunately, the nervous smile on Viktor’s face during the entire tussle really took away any bite he tried to muster in his words.
“If it hurts, I’ll k-kill you,” Viktor’s voice wavered on the word as Jayce pushed a hand through and pinched his rib, latching on tight but not yet actually tickling. He just
held it there.
Viktor gripped onto the wrist at his ribs, pushing and pulling and trying everything to avoid his own humiliating downfall. He was already struggling to keep anticipatory giggles at bay, and Jayce was beaming at the reaction.
“You ready?”
“No, nonono, Jayce—”
“Three.”
“I’ll throw all your patents into the river!”
“Twoooooo.”
“Consider all your hard work a gross, soggy mush!”
“One!”
“Jayce, no-! aUgchk—n-nohohoho!”
Jayce finally put his fingers to work, gently pinching at that bottom rib incessantly. Viktor did exactly what Jayce thought he would. He giggled hard, arching in a way that curled his body around Jayce’s hand, and slapped at his wrist like it’d do anything to push him off.
“Y-You—You idiohohot-!” Viktor’s words faded seamlessly into another bout of laughter as Jayce brought his other hand around to squeeze nicely at Viktor’s side. Viktor squirmed in his hold, and Jayce thought he was going to melt.
Viktor looked so cute like this. Flushed from alcohol and laughter, smiling wide and desperate, squirming in Jayce’s hold like his every touch was causing a new reaction. Just cute cute cute.
“Nohot cute you freheak!” Viktor said around his giggles, making Jayce flush himself. Did I say that out loud?
Well. Might as well double down, right? “Only thing to make this any cuter would be a kitten popping outta your shirt, huh?”
Viktor visibly blushed a tinge darker, “Okahay okahay! Stohop! I cahaha-ahahah!” He couldn’t even finish his sentences. Jayce was hooked.
But he was also merciful. At his command, Jayce declawed from Viktor’s ribcage and hovered above as he watched Viktor pant and come down from his giggle fit. When Viktor caught his eye (and that doting look he got when Viktor did just about anything these days), he shoved Jayce’s face away playfully with an all too smiley groan. “I hope you got what you needed from that study, because you are never gonna try that again.”
Jayce snickered, leaning back to his spot on the couch. “Oh yeah? Says who?”
“Says the guy who’ll stick a cane up your ass if you try it,” Viktor leaned against his own respective arm of the couch.
Jayce grinned back. “Yeah, we’ll see about that.”
—
Hooked couldn’t begin to describe the feeling. Jayce was enthralled. Enamoured. He couldn’t stop thinking about that night, brief as it may have been. He didn’t want to go overboard with Viktor, of course, the man was weird about touch as it is. Jayce was lucky he’d been able to get his hands on him at all. But that hardly mattered. Because Jayce got to hear what Viktor sounded like when he felt ticklish, and now that he knows that sound, it might as well be on a record scratch repeat in his brain at all times.
Jayce’s leg shook anxiously under the desk. He wasn’t nervous, more just
unfocused, at the moment. Yes, partly from all of that, but mainly from the chaos of notes and blueprints and paperwork littered in front of him. That boring night must’ve just been the calm before the storm, because once they were able to get all those equations pieced together, the workload became fucking endless.
And of course Jayce loves their work, all the passion and hours they both devote to creating what is essentially their whole future. It’s a beautiful thing what happens in their lab. Astonishing. Awe-inspiring.

and also ridiculously stressful.
Jayce must’ve been working for nearly 24 hours at this point. His legs felt like lead, and his shoulders ached from the past few hours of leaning over this desk and working working working. He couldn’t count the amount of times he’s had to stretch his hand out from all the notes he’s written.
He’s fucking exhausted.
And what’s worse? Jayce knows that Viktor’s somehow been awake for even longer than him.
Jayce cleared his throat. “So uh
it’s gettin’ late, Vik. Wanna call it a night?”
Viktor was hunched over his own desk, goggles on as he meticulously worked over their project. Jayce knew if those goggles were off, he’d be able to see Viktor’s eyes trying their damndest not to slip shut from exhaustion. “Not now. This needs a few touch-ups.”
“And it can’t wait til tomorrow because
?”
“Because if I break my concentration, I may forget where I was in my progress by tomorrow,” Viktor said, before waving Jayce off. “Go, get some rest. You deserve it.”
“And you don’t?” Jayce could hear his voice get defensive, on Viktor’s behalf no less. The guy never gave himself a break, it was nothing short of a miracle that he’d been the one to suggest their break just two weeks ago. Jayce sighed, “I miss ‘New Viktor.’”
At that, Viktor paused. Lifting his goggles to his forehead and throwing Jayce an incredulous look. “Seriously, Jayce?”
Jayce pouted with a shrug, leaning against the back of his chair. “Yeah. New Viktor would’ve had a drink with me hours ago and then gone to bed at an appropriate time,” Jayce grinned. He gave an exaggerated, almost theatre-like sigh, “I guess this Viktor just isn’t as fun.”
Viktor pursed his lips at Jayce, clearly holding back a little smile at the banter. “I’m plenty of fun. This is fun,” he pointed to the contraption on his desk he’d been fiddling with.
But Jayce stayed with the bit, humming dreamily. “Ohh, New Viktor, how I miss him. He drank with me. We shared funny stories and laughed together,” Jayce smirked, getting a fun little idea. “Yeah, I remember him laughing a lot that night, actually. And it wasn’t just from the jokes he was telling.”
Viktor scoffed a half-laugh, shaking his head. “You sound sleep-deprived.”
“Noooo, my head’s pretty clear right now, actually. I remember it so clearly. Gah, New Viktor was such a riot,” Jayce sat his elbow against the desk and propped his head against his hand, giving Viktor the cheekiest grin. “He even let me tickle him. Can you believe that?”
“I did not let you do anything, don’t go twisting the narrative,” Viktor pointed at Jayce, his face losing the battle against the smile he’s been fighting. “You probably have 100 pounds on me, you practically assaulted a disabled man against his will.”
Jayce ignored him. “If I remember correctly–”
“You don’t remember a thing.”
“-he was very ticklish, even though he tried denying it at first. How silly is that? If you deny it, you know someone’s just gonna try it out and prove you wrong anyway,” Jayce said, before humming in fake contemplation, squinting and tilting his head. “Huh. Are you ticklish, Viktor?”
Viktor tapped his finger against the desk in a steady rhythm, now avoiding eye contact with Jayce. “You are ridiculous. We are grown, and I need to work.”
“Actually, you need to stop working and go to bed,” Jayce stood from his seat and walked to Viktor’s desk (who still refused to meet his gaze), leaning an arm against the top and towering over Viktor. From the new angle, he could see a little blush over Viktor’s face and ears, how he was biting the inside of his cheek to keep from smiling anymore. Cute. “You gonna do that, or am I gonna have to answer my own question since you avoided it.”
Viktor glanced at Jayce with a side-eye. “You know the answer. And you’re being childish. If I wish to work, you cannot force me to stop.”
“Actually,” Jayce grinned, before hooking his fingers under Viktor’s arms (which were so conveniently sat atop the desk, leaving his underarms open and exposed) and digging in, getting an immediate reaction from Viktor who flung his back against the chair and choked down a laugh with the funniest sound. “I think I totally can.”
Viktor squirmed, his good leg digging its heel into the ground as his arms shook against their spot glued tight to his sides. His head was ducked down to hide his face, but he kept making these choked off little sounds like he was trying his hardest not to laugh (even though they both knew how ticklish he was, it was such a useless battle that Jayce’s heart burned in adoration).
“Viktorrrrr,” Jayce sung, his fingertips travelling just a tinge lower to Viktor’s upper ribs, and that’s what did the scientist in. Viktor let out a laugh that sounded like it surprised even himself, before tittering helplessly and falling into a giggle fit he couldn’t fight if he tried.
“Nohoho! Not again, Jahahayce–!” Viktor shook his head against his laughter, slapping at Jayce’s arm as deeper belly laughs started escaping him. Jayce could almost hear in Viktor’s laughter how he started to feel the helplessness take over, how he couldn’t get out of this if he tried. “Why?!”
“Because I care about you. You need sleep even more than I do, Vik, and you aren’t gonna do it unless I make you,” Jayce said, like he wasn’t tearing Viktor apart beneath him, like Viktor wasn’t coming undone under his fingers and squirming like a worm on a hook.
Viktor laughed harder at his words, “Cruel!”
Jayce couldn’t help but snicker himself. “Cruel? I’m helping you here. Just tell me you’re gonna go to bed and this is all over!”
Viktor shook his head, “Let me work! Evil fucking–ggahahaha shihit!” He lost his words as Jayce found his lower ribs right above his sides, Viktor’s hands grasping onto Jayce’s wrists like a lifeline.
“You are so stubborn,” Jayce chuckled. “I can go all night, y’know. You aren’t winning this.”
“Jdi do píči!” Viktor cursed in his native tongue around his giggles, and Jayce felt himself blush at the sound. Oh, Viktor’s gonna be the death of him.
“Gonna assume none of those words were ‘Yes, Jayce! Of course I’ll go get some well-deserved rest, thank you for helping me!’ Would I be right?”
Viktor didn’t respond, only laughing harder as Jayce slipped his fingers back up into his armpits. His head was thrown back now, and Jayce could see his Adam's apple bobbing through this laughter. His cheeks were flushed, eyes shut tight from the smile searing his face, and god the crinkles his eyes were making just made Jayce’s brain glitch. “C’mon, Vik. I know this is tiring you out.”
“You don’t know shit!” Viktor cackled, clearly confident he could withstand this. Well, at least before Jayce slipped one hand out and started tickling the side of Viktor’s neck and ear. Viktor seemed to stumble over his own laughter, his brain fuzzing around the new sensation as he slipped in and out of belly-laughter and high-pitched giggling. The side of his head slammed against his shoulder to block the sensation, but Jayce’s fingers were already at work, scribbling and scraping against those horribly sensitive spots that Viktor clearly couldn’t stand, if his incessant cursing in another language wasn’t enough to prove it.
“Oh? This a good spot?” Jayce teased, now bringing his other hand into the mix on Viktor’s other side. Viktor’s shoulders completely hunched up, his body so overwhelmed he didn’t know what to do with himself. He doubled over, clutching one arm over his aching belly while the other continued its useless slapping at Jayce’s arm. Jayce chuckled, “What? Does this tickle or something?”
“F-Fucker!” Viktor’s voice wavered, high-pitched and bubbly, before he finally resigned to his fate. “Okay! Okahahay! Bed–! I'll sleheheep!”
“Okaaay, I’ll trust you this time,” Jayce grinned. He stopped the wiggling of his fingers, but poised the tips of his indexes right at the curve of Viktor’s ear. It was a threat, and one that made Viktor titter and squirm and pull at Jayce’s wrists uselessly. “But next time I catch you without sleep for nearly two days like this, I’m not going easy on you.”
Finally, Jayce pulled his hands away, and Viktor slumped against the back of the chair with an exhausted sigh. “Have I ever told you how much I don’t like you.”
Jayce snickered, “Yeah. And I didn’t believe you then either.”
Viktor grinned, wiping a hand down his face. “I knew you’d do that eventually. I couldn’t expect you to find out something like that and not use it against me at some point,” He stood up on wobbly knees, and Jayce quickly handed him the cane that had fallen on the ground during Viktor’s squirming. “Just didn’t expect you to be so cruel about it.”
“Hey I wasn’t cruel–”
“Oh? You weren’t? Torturing a disabled man when he’s running off no sleep for over 48 hours isn’t what you’d call cruel?” Viktor teased, gathering things off his desk to bring home in his bag.
“Torture?” Jayce’s voice tilted up his grin. “You never even told me to stop.”
Viktor’s hands fumbled and he dropped a few pens. Jayce laughed as he bent down to retrieve them, their hands brushing as he gave them back. Viktor looked like a pouty cat, lips thin in a tight line with squinted eyes. Best of all, his ears were burning.
“It's a little hard to speak when you’re being forced to laugh.”
“But not hard enough you can’t slip in a few curses, right?”
Viktor had no rebuttal to that, merely scoffing like he had no clue what Jayce was talking about as he tossed his bag over his shoulder. “Goodnight, Jayce.”
Jayce watched as Viktor walked toward the door, completely satisfied with himself. He did it. And
it didn’t seem like Viktor even minded that much. In fact
hm. Maybe he’s reading too much into it. There’s no way Viktor liked it as much as Jayce. That’d be crazy.
“And um
” Viktor had the lab door pushed halfway open, stopping himself with his back turned to Jayce as he spoke. “Thank you.”
Jayce just could not help himself. “For tickling you?”
Viktor laughed at Jayce’s gall, “For making me get rest, you bastard,” He glanced over his shoulder to Jayce, who looked over the moon at Viktor’s honesty. “I know I need this, despite how I fight against it. So
though your methods are horrible, and undignified, and childish and stupid, and really show how odd your personality is—”
“Let’s get to thanks, yeah?”
Viktor smiled as he turned back around from Jayce. “...Thank you for looking out for me. I do appreciate the care.”
Jayce wanted to hug Viktor so tight their bodies melded together. Instead, he said, “Anytime. You know that.”
—
Viktor fell asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow. Jayce was right, as much as he hated to admit it. He’d lied when he said it was only two days without sleep. It was probably closer to four. Jayce just didn’t know that because the last time Viktor went home, he’d taken some of their projects and papers with him to work on in his own personal study.
So yes. His rest was needed, or whatever. And he did sleep really, really good. Almost 14 hours completely uninterrupted as he snoozed warm and cozy under the covers.
Only problem was
his mind ran a little rampant in his sleep that night. The events of the night before, with Jayce, and Jayce’s hands, and Jayce’s fingers, and Jayce teasing him so close to his ear he could feel his skin prickle with Jayce’s breath on his neck. All those thoughts that made his belly warm and fluttery were what he fell asleep to that night.
Which led to some
interesting dreams to think about when he woke up that morning.
“Does it tickle worse here? Orrrr here?”
“Jahahayce! No plehehease!”
“Answer the question, Vik. Your thighs or your hips?”
Jayce’s fingers were pressed deep into both spots, one hand tickling deep into his thigh first, before pausing so his other hand could wreak a similar havoc against Viktor’s hip. The feeling was overwhelming, and Viktor squirmed hard against the weight of Jayce pressed on top of him on the lab couch. Viktor was fully pinned under Jayce, unable to move and only allowed to squirm because Jayce thought it looked pretty when he did it.
“Hihips! Jayce, hips, plehehease!” Viktor wailed, and when Jayce paused, Viktor inhaled like he hadn’t had a good breath in years. His breath was labored, shaky, laced with leftover giggling from Jayce’s attack.
And Jayce just looked down at him like Viktor hung the moon that lit their lab through the window.
“I love your laugh.”
Viktor squirmed at the praise, shoving Jayce’s face. “Stop.”
“That’s the first time you told me to stop. What, am I embarrassing you?”
“Stop!” Viktor whined, shoving both hands over Jayce’s eyes so he couldn’t look at him in this flustered state.
But Jayce only chuckled, grabbing Viktor’s wrists and hoisting them up over his head to pin them against the arm of the couch.
“But you like it, don’t you?”
Viktor woke up with a jolt, his eyes wide and breath uneven.
Shit. Was he actually into this? What the fuck did Jayce do to him.

just gonna throw an idea out there
i dont know how many stoners are in the tickle community, but just imagine smoking a bowl and then getting the absolute snot tickled out of you.
everything physical feels incredible, and imagine the deep pressure of heavy tickling, the elation of heavy laughter. light tickles just send shivers up and down your whole body and you giggle until you cant breathe and it makes your head buzz and spin with endorphins and you feel like youre at peace with everything.
and, of course, after getting high everything is so much funnier, and i personally turn into a constant stream of giggles. imagine someone just gently wiggling their fingers in the air above a tickle spot and having you in complete hysterics. laughing long after theyve stopped tickling you because you just cant stop, and its hilarious that you cant, and now youre laughing harder, and
