“You look ridiculous,” Regulus lied, eyeing his older brother. He was wearing combat boots and a leather jacket, a torn band t-shirt with tight, dark wash jeans, and he looked really, really good.

Sirius met his gaze and waggled his brows. “Too muggle for you, Reg?”

Regulus hummed, gaze finding the rips in the front of Sirius’ shirt, the way his tanned skin peeked through the tears. “You look like a slob, actually.”

“This?” Sirius gestured to his shirt in absolute disbelief. “This shirt is a classic!”

“It looks like a dishrag,” Regulus said with a scowl, making Sirius gasp. He had to bite the inside of his cheek to keep from grinning at Sirius’ response.

Sirius tugged his jacket off and gestured to his shirt once more. “Do you want me to change it?” He criss crossed his arms and grabbed at the hem of his shirt, pulling it swiftly over his head.

Regulus swallowed hard, trying not to let his eyes gloss over at the sight of his brother’s bare torso, but he knew it was no good. Sirius knew exactly what he did to him.

“Pants too,” Regulus said hoarsely, nodding toward Sirius’ lower half, hoping he would understand Regulus’ intentions.

Sirius threw his head back, laughing. “You want me to take my pants off?” he asked, stepping forward and brushing a finger down the curve of Regulus’ jaw.

Regulus only smiled back at him and reached down to undo Sirius’ button for him.

“Always.”

when I started shipping it if I did: Like 20 years ago, they were one of my first HP ships alongside Sirry (I read so much on HP Literotica back then, lol). They were also my first incest and the first HP ship I finally wrote this year, so, nostalgia.

my thoughts: These two are everything that makes a brother ship so fucking delicious (granted, I wouldn’t turn down a wider age gap, but the closeness in age does have its perks). Shared childhood trauma, pureblood expectations, all the forces of the universe working to drive them apart. There is so much juicy innate conflict, from their personalities to their sortings to their ideologies. Sirius is brash where Reggie is subdued. Sirius fights where Regulus cowers. Sirius rebels, Regulus obeys. That said, I do enjoy more aggressive/assertive characterizations of Reg, too. But I think his betrayal of Voldemort was probably the first time he broke away from his parents’ ideals / thought for himself and was brave enough to act on it, and the fact that Sirius wasn’t there to see it is just devastating. He would’ve been so proud.

What makes me happy about them: I see them very close and very sheltered growing up, so for all Sirius’ curated rebellion, he and Reg share a lot of similarities. They’ve got that sort of ride-or-die bond but in a toxic way, like neither of them experienced love so they’re sorta building the plane (or in this case broom) as they’re flying it? I think they’d see possession as love, and it may not be healthy but it makes for some damn delicious shipping. They share a sense of humor, too, no matter how serious Reggie pretends to be.

What makes me sad about them: ESTRANGEMENT, BETRAYAL, PRISON, DEATH.

things I look for in fanfic: I think this post pretty well covers it! I love jealousy between them, I love protective Sirius, I love Reg feeling replaced by James, I love the unbreakable bond and (as with all incest ships) both being ashamed of their feelings to the point it almost destroys them before they finally explode and admit to each other. On a lighter note, I also think they have like, Drarry-level banter potential, which is why I especially enjoy them from a humorous angle.

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: I’ll give one to the Jegulus shippers. :P Honestly, there’s no one I can plausibly imagine Reg ending up with, but Sirius of course goes to Harry, or before him, Remus. Much as I love Prongsfoot, fate does not.

My happily ever after for them: They don’t have one. :( I suppose you could operate under the premise that Reg never died but went into hiding (or was trapped somewhere all those years), and when he comes back, they reconcile. But it would have to be Starcest/Harry OT3 because, well, it’s me.

who is the big spoon/little spoon: Same answer as here. ^_^

what is their favorite non-sexual activity: I think they’d play (“play” being a generous term) the most vicious pickup Quidditch. I imagine them playing music together, I think they were raised with the classics and maybe Sirius teaches him guitar later on. And I bet they like to gossip, but like, in French. Leftover childhood habit. There was a post about it once and it became my new HC, like they’ll just sit in the common room aggressively going off in French and onlookers think they’re having some sort of heated intellectual debate but really it’s just did you fucking see Abbott’s new haircut?! Who gave the giant squid a pair of scissors?

I don’t think Regulus understands the extent of what Sirius would be able to do for him, I don’t think anyone other than Sirius himself could. It terrifies Sirius and it thrills Regulus. Regulus wants to find out his brother's limits and Sirius dreads ever knowing for sure that there's none. He'd do everything for Regulus and so he tries his best not to give Regulus a chance to ask for things he's afraid to do.
