My Fault - Chapter One

TW- Blood, injury, talks of death

Donnie didn't understand how they got here. Mikey was hurt. How was he supposed to fix this? He's no medic. Then... then he should go get one! Leo can't be too far away and he could feel Mikey's breath getting shorter. He couldn't be the one to let Mikey die! He's too important. Donnie needed him.

"M-mikey, I can't keep carrying you like this. I need to get help!" He said, hesitant.

"But you c-can't leave m-me! Please! They might still be out there! I don't want you to leave. Stay where it's safe! With me." Mikey pleaded.

"You're hurt. Severely hurt. I need you to stay here so I can go get our brothers. It's safe here. They can't find you." They can't. Donnie wouldn't forgive himself if they did.

"B-but what about you?! You can't leave me! You're hurt, too!" His eyes were begging and filled with tears, and it hurt. None of this was his fault. It was Donnie's. It had to be.

He wanted to stay. He wanted to stay so badly. He wanted to keep his younger brother safe. But Mikey was starting to get tired. And pale! When did he start getting pale?!

"This? I'm fine!" he said frantically. He pointed to his arm, covered in blood. "Blood spreads very quickly. And if I can still move my arms, I should be fine!" he lied. He didn't want to worry his little brother over his own mistakes.

"But..."

"Listen, Mikey. I understand your worry, but I've already checked Leo's location and he should be nearby! It's fine! I can fix this!" he lied. Most of his tech was destroyed in the fight, including his goggles, so now he can't call for anything else! Not even a new battle she'll. Oh God, it hurt so badly. He could feel sweat dripping off his tail. Or was that blo- Why is he thinking about this? Mikey's the one who's hurt. And by his mistake no less. He was the one that hurt him; the one who's going to be responsible for his demise if he doesn't hurry!

"Donnie?"

It was so hard to breathe. Why couldn't he breathe?!

"Donnie, are you okay?"

"Y-yes Mikey, I-I'm fine."

No, he wasn't.

"Just worried is all."

Worried was an understatement.

"Listen to me Mikey. If anything happens, if anyone other than out brothers finds you, you send a distress call, okay? I can fix this. That part of his tech wasn't destroyed. It was important. They were important.

Mikey gave a little nod. It was time for Donnie to go.

WOW this took a long time for no reason. I honestly don't think I was enjoying making it until I started coloring the last page. I don't think I like using flat colors 😅 BUT now that I have figured out what I do and don't like, I should be quicker.

Also, I have a little game for you guys. This au was actually inspired by a song. Can you guess what it is? Send me your guesses in my asks pretty please :P you probably can't guess anything rn but like...it'll make more sense later. Also @manniganbee DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT TELL THEM >:(
