if you have never heard this album before have you truly listening to underground hip-hop? Madvillainy is the epitome of what you want your album to hear like. Hip hop artist and producer MF DOOM teamed up with super producer Madlib to drop one of the best albums in hip hop history in the year of 2004. MF DOOM is known for his witty wordplay, clever bars and rhyme scheme. Madlib is known for his jazzy boom bap hip hop tracks. When the duo released this album, it shifted the way hip hop artists constructed their songs. I remember when I was in middle school listening to this project, I can almost remember the exact feeling I felt back then. I felt highly inspired and knew that when I got a little older, I wanted to make songs like these guys. Rest in peace to the greatest to ever do it, MF DOOM.

beat of my own drum released August 15th, 2021. when I initially put this album together I wanted to branch out of my typical boom bap, mixtape sounds that I am always on. since I’m so used to it I was seeking to work with a producer that has a completely different sound than mine and that’s when I reached out to baby erf. we chopped it up and he sent over a beat pack about a year before the project released. it took me a while to get the project completed because I had to come up with new concepts and ideas for the album. baby erf is based out of san francisco, california and has that Bay area wavy hyphy sound. our collaboration definitely is one for the history books and in the near future I will drop some visuals for the album.
