Seeing her come through the door made Qrow want to shrink away, to become something small enough to hide under the bed and out of sight. He almost shouted at her to leave, kept only in check by biting down on the inner corner of his lip. His hand was shaking from how hard he was clenching onto his knee.

"This is different," he insisted. "You didn't choose to have those terrible things happen to you. I chose to drink myself sick." This was by Qrow's own doing. He deserved to be miserable and alone, to suffer for his actions. "Time to pay the tab I built up." He felt sick. He wanted to puke if he couldn't get something warm and biting in his stomach.

Although he had asked her to step away, Aurelia couldn't bear to see him like this. He hadn't needed to say anything to her directly. She had noticed a a couple days ago that he was no longer leaving after sunset to spend his evening in the local bar. There were no more hidden bottles of whiskey in the closet or scattered throughout their temporary Vacuoan home. She was unsure of when exactly his last drink was, and although she never partook herself, she knew that right about now, must be the peak of his withdrawal symptoms.

It was a risk to go against his request, but one she needed to take. Walking into his room, she shut the door softly behind her, not wanting to wake Weiss, and took a seat beside Qrow at the edge of the bed. "Hey, it's going to be okay, alright?" She assured, placing her hand on top of his. "Forget about everything else we have been. We were friends first, right? Best friends." A gentle squeeze. "You saw me at my absolute worst all of those years ago and supported me through it all. It's my turn to support you at yours, okay? I'm not going to go anywhere. We'll get through this together."
