Someone being "more disabled" than you does not mean that your disability isn't also real and serious. You don't have to be the most disabled person to be valid. And sometimes we DO have privileges over other disabled people worthy of discussion EVEN THOUGH we very much ARE disabled too.

Law students expect infinitely more coherence from the law than the law is able to provide.

Nothing about criminal law makes sense. Teaching criminal law is an exercise in pretending it makes sense just long enough for students to be able to write an exam about it.

My internal monologue during course preparation: “Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha, I hope my students don’t ask about this.”

It’s not that I don’t know the topic well enough to answer. It’s that I have a table of Supreme Court decisions where they give five different answers to the question.

And yes, of course, I can just tell them it doesn’t make sense. I can remind them that the system exists to reproduce racial capitalism, not to make sense. But that’s deeply dissatisfying to most of them. They want certainty, otherwise they feel like they’re not on track to becoming a competent lawyer.

Horns being central to tiefling culture, a point of pride, a symbol of heritage. You don't touch a tiefling's horns without permission, and permission is only given to close friends and loved ones.

Tieflings, a widely vilified race, sometimes being marks for poachers who murder them and display their horns in perverse glory.

A tiefling's life partner being the only one allowed not just to touch their horns, but to decorate them with rings and woven bands to symbolise their relationship.

Being a tiefling is hard. Being the first tiefling in your family is harder.

First of all, you *KNOW* one of your parents did something fucked up that has cursed you and all your decedents. So thats fun knowledge to live with. But second, neither of these two humans know what the hell to do with their tiny demon baby when horns start growing and the magic starts *happening* so you just gotta figure that shit out yourself.

ASKS ARE WELCOMED!!!!! (I love answering questions!!)

My name is Tethren Naïlo, the son of Duke Alek Naïlo and next in line to rule over the dukedom. Our family has been hailed for generations due to our service and loyalty to region.

The nobility of my country arent very fond of me, including most of my own family, due to��� well, my differences. Its hard to fit in when you have red skin, horns, a tail, crutches, and magic. But thats okay, I’ve found friendship with the outcasts of society here in the dukedom. They understand what its like to be the black sheep, and I understand what its like to not be wanted or welcomed. So I use my position of power to be a voice for the voiceless and advocate for the disadvantaged.

When Im home, most of my spare time is dedicated to studying, be it law or magic. Though of course, my magic comes with a cost. The more I use it, the more my legs suffer. On good days, I dont need my crutches at all, but other times, I can barely move without them. My crutches can also be an asset though! They’ve proven to turn me into a great mountain climber when my legs are functioning!

But despite the toll taken on my body when I use my powers, Im determined to master them. Really I must if I want to protect my claim to the title. Truth be told, I dont even want to be the duke. But I cant risk letting one of my more… nefarious relatives taking over. It would be catastrophic for both our family’s name and the people of the dukedom.
