Save a Gazan journalist's life.

I won't keep you long. Here are the facts:

Siraj Abudayeh @siraj2024 is a Gazan journalist and a father of three.

He and his family have been displaced 7 times.

They have survived multiple recent massacres in Khan Yunis.

They live in a tent that feels like a "convection oven".

He can hear tank fire across the street.

His parents and siblings escaped Deir al-Balah and are now homeless; he has to care for them too.

He needs to raise $5,000 CAD / $3653 USD by the end of the day.

He's probably gotten a hundred thousand notes on his posts at this point.

This has been meaningless. His campaign moves at a glacial pace.

The Palestinian genocide is the fault of the US, UK, Israel, and the imperial core in general.

When we in the imperial core do not donate to people like him, we perpetuate the genocide.

I am 23 years old. I live under the bombardment and constant aggression against Gaza. Here we struggle with a life of constant death and loss. I lost a large part of my family. We also lost our house in which we used to live. We were displaced more than 10 times from one place to another, searching for safety. In fact, there is no safe place. We had many ambitions and hopes. I graduated from university and intended to travel, work, and many other things. But the war came and destroyed all that. We also had a source of livelihood and clothing shops.🇵🇸🍉

The occupation completely destroyed and burned them all, and we no longer have any source of livelihood. We also lack access to food and drinking water. We suffered from many diseases, such as hepatitis and malnutrition due to the lack of a suitable environment for life, and I had surgery to remove the gallbladder. Here we live in hunger and fear. My mother also suffers from chronic diseases and we cannot find a cure for them. Our lives are in danger. Therefore, I hope you can help, even if just a little, as this will help us get out of death."🇵🇸🍉

Folks, I'd like to bring your attention to the fundraisers of the Resh family! Wafaa ( @wafaaresh ) and her extended family have already been displaced over ten times, and are desperately in need of a helping hand.

The money they are trying to raise will go toward such basic necessities as food and water for their young children, as well as medical care. Wafaa's mother suffers from chronic hypertension, and her brother Mohiy recently had an operation to remove his gallbladder, to treat the hepatitis and severe pancreatitis that developed from unclean drinking water.

To date, Wafaa's GFM campaign has raised €15,488��of their €100,000 goal

SIRAJ NEEDS TO GET TO 40K CAD BY THE END OF THIS WEEK

If you don’t know already, Siraj ( @siraj2024 ) is a devoted father to his three children and a writer and journalist from Gaza. He did a bachelor's degree and completed his master's in journalism and media just an year before the genocide began. He even wanted to get a doctorate! But his dreams were shattered when when the genocide started in October 2023.

In November 2023, the IOF destroyed his beautiful home which took ten years of love and labour. Ever since October 7th, he has been displaced seven times. Do you know what that has done to his three beautiful boys? In his words:

“My children have lost their childhoods among these makeshift shelters. They don’t know how to play or learn. Instead, they help with hard tasks like fetching drinking water from long distances, cleaning around the tent, and much more. They deserve better.”

One of his boys contracted a serious infection from the unhygienic conditions of the tent his family lives in. This is not how his children should be living! They should be in school, they should be playing, AND THEY SHOULD BE SAFE.

Forgive me for invoking her but within 24 hours of her candidacy Kamala Harris’ campaign raised a record breaking 81 million USD with the help of small-dollar donations. Clearly even the smallest amount goes a long way! If you can give your money to a candidate enabling a genocide, you can give your money to people escaping genocide

Please do not forget his family.

I'm running a piece for Ambrook Research on the decline of barn cats in American culture, and the reasoning behind the public's grievances with outdoor cats (and why some people love them). My personal feelings on the matter aside, I'm looking to find interviewees on both sides of this, so please reach out if you:

Previously/currently own outdoor cats, ESPECIALLY if you use your cats as a part of your farm (i had many of these responses, thank you!!)

Have researched impacts of outdoor cats / studies where impacts of outdoor cats were relevant, such as natural death statistics for a species of bird

Work with a conservation organization and are familiar with the impact of outdoor cats

Have experienced loss of wildlife on your property as a result of (owned, not feral) outdoor cats.

Sometimes I do ship something and it's not unpopular its just that fanon harbors enough popular misconceptions to make the content frequently unreadable. I am making this post to clear up some confusion regarding Momen's campaign that may have prevented people from donating because it made them sceptical about its legitimacy. This confusion is most likely caused by the failures of machine translation.

Momen is attempting to evacuate ten family members, with the cost of evacuation for each being €7,000. So far, the amount raised is only enough for two. The family members are:

Father (suffers from hypertension, heart disease, and diabetes)

Mother (suffers from hypertension)

Three brothers

Two sisters

Ahmed's (the eldest brother) children, Malak (newborn) and Muhammad (who has Polio)

Reham's (eldest sister) newborn, Amir

Their newborn babies are suffering from a number of respiratory issues. One of the younger members of his family contracted Hep C due to water contamination (and I apologise for spreading misinformation, as I truly did think it was his child, but it isn't). His hopes are to get his family evacuated so they can all receive urgent medical attention.

Momen is only 24 years old. He is bearing an unimaginable weight on his shoulders. He's essentially been begging for several months now since the campaign's creation to an uncountable number of strangers who have bared little to no heed to his campaign. His campaign has struggled to receive any traction. His blogs have been banned and suspended, over and over and over again. And honestly? Even with all this information in mind, I still don't know what it takes to get you people to donate.

Is it the lack of money? Well, that's not it! You people help raise thousands for AO3 yearly. Is it that you think he's a scammer? He's been vetted as number 125 on that spreadsheet, so that's probably not it unless you think Palestinians are scammers by default. Why are you letting yourself become desensitised to their pain? Why does every facet of their misery need to be posted for you to care, and even still you won't?

The campaign is behind on its short term goal. Severely behind, only €854/3724. The deadline is the end of tomorrow, and if we don't reach it then God help us, because then it will take even longer to fill the gap for the funds for each member's evacuation. Every campaign is urgent. Even the ones that don't list it as such. They're undergoing bombing, they're forced to evacuate from place to place while ill and terrified. You think they want to live another minute of this? Another day?

Every amount helps. I feel like a broken record saying this. Just donate. However, you much you can. 1, 20, 5, if that's the most you can. Share as much as you can.
