ok wait there’s a 22k maya fic? 👀👀👀
also i like that thought too! that it was most likely from her dad/parents. i just really like the idea that it has something to do with her ~early years~ in performing. it’s super heartwarming when you put it that way.
going off of what you said though... what if her parents gave her a present (that was wrapped in that ribbon) and in the box was the dvd of arrie where claudine acted in ya know what i’m sayin......................
does anybody else think about what the ~backstory~ is regarding maya’s bow and why she wears it? (*cough* tell me your headcanons…)
part of me wants to believe that she just wears it just ‘cause. like there’s no sentimental story to it or whatever. it just looks good yknow? it adds a nice touch to dress up a regular hairstyle. and yknow how maya is not really a visual artist? so the least she could do is make her hairstyle pretty by adding this small creative element…
but it’s also fun to think up of more meaningful ones. i like to think she has kept this hairstyle since childhood.
what if it was part of her costume during her very first stage play, and just decided to keep it for remembrance/good luck charm?
maybe she looked up to an actress/a character from a play who had that hairstyle too and decided she would wear her hair like it because they inspire her a lot.
maybe one time during rehearsals they had ribbon lying around as props, and it just so happens that she needs to tie her hair for practice, and so the hairstyle was born. and it just kinda stuck.
etc etc~
i mean, it might be weird to kept the same strand of ribbon since childhood, but who knows. i would also say it’s as important to her like how karen & hikari’s hairpins are to each other. she even wears it despite having a ponytail on.
i may also be over analyzing this… but it reminds me of a crown? i know it’s not where crowns are usually are… but it gives off the same vibe yknow. the whole “i am worthy so of course i have a pretty headdress” kinda thing. also bows/ribbons are always related to gifts/anything that is polished and perfect. and all of that in relation to maya is… well… i don’t even have to spell out how fitting it is.
anyway. this post turned out way longer than expected but idk guys i just love that maya wears a bow!!!

i am like. so incredibly happy that we’re getting more maya related content soon in the 2nd bluray. and that they brought to life a part of the ghost in the theater chapter by doing that new song. i might be biased because maya is my favorite, but her chapter in the overture really got me. i felt like it was the perfect story to help ground her character ‘cause i know she may come off as this perfect being. when in reality she has her own flaws and fears, and is learning how to conquer them.
anyway i’m not even 100% sure if the new ova will have Actual Maya Content but that song exists so. and i mean i doubt that the new ova will go Deep™ but there’s so much evidence saying that they’ll mention that play and if/when they do i’ll lose it. and if maya makes an appearance or something i’ll explode. i won’t even care what they’re gonna talk about—i just want them to mention it. (isn’t the ova title “discussion”? lmao)
now all i need is for december to roll faster so that the new ova can be out. and then we can even freak out more after
#i just love maya so fucking much damn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!#rambles#idk what was the point of this post i'm just so excited#ok bye

hmm i actually saw this tweet and it seems like the art for the bluray has all of them. and god i love this group illustration everyone looks so adorable. it looks like it matches the whole ~ghost~ concept and done in watercolor too.
and now i’m thinking if this hints that the song is actually sung by the whole cast? i heard the arrie song from the first bluray was, so maybe they’re doing that again. and momoyo and mimorin just recorded their part in LA or something. like maybe they have a verse together idk.
it’s funny ‘cause in the illustration, since maya’s character color is silver, she’s the one who looks like a ghost compared to everybody. and i find that fitting 'cause her overture chapter is the ghost in the theater. anyway idk if that actually means anything but there is that link yknow.
maybe in the new ova there’ll be some mention of the actual the ghost in the theater stage play they did. where maya played stephanie? ‘cause yeah they mentioned arrie in the past ova. and did a song on it. so maybe.
ok guys so you know how momoyo and mimorin recorded a song for the 2nd bluray
and it’s titled you are a ghost, i am a ghost, ghost in the theater (or something. not sure what the last part is and google translate can fail sometimes you know)
and like…. did anybody else think it was odd that maho-nee wasn’t recording? ‘cause like……. maya’s chapter in the manga is called a ghost in the theater. her entire character chapter is about her being associated with ghosts ……. like.
or maybe it’s not related At All and i just really want more maya content but wasn’t the song that came out in the 1st bluray titled My Friend Arrie—that play claudine was in—which they talked about in the manga ??
#i do think maya is in the new ova tho#i feel like i saw it somewhere that maho-nee talked abt the 2nd ova but i forgot where. but i swear i saw it#or maybe im just insane man#idk anymore we just gotta wait for now#rambles

i will be forever bitter that revue starlight decided to gloss over the maya vs. nana revue because. this was the last revue in the first timeline. and the last one is always the most Intense ‘cause after that, someone is finally crowned top star.
y’all remember how dramatically intense hokori to ogori and the first part of hoshiboshi no kizuna is, right? maho-nee’s voice showed full command, and moepii’s harmonization is so hauntingly beautiful. their songs are so goddamn powerful that we feel so intimidated. the instruments are also very swift and loud, demanding us to pay attention.
now. imagine that intensity with a maya vs. nana duet. fucking picture this song with me guys. it can start out with maybe a few slow piano or violin strings, and then as we're 1 minute in, it just suddenly ramps The Hell Up. maya is singing first, as she establishes her dominance. the song would be in a normal-ish speed (like how the first few lines of hokori to ogori goes). about 15 or so secs in, the sounds would slowly start adding more drama here and there, ever so slightly. and then nana begins to sing her verse, and it would be about how much she wants to furiously protect their memories. then the pace completely changes. cue Full On Intense Music. cue their alto voices projecting to their Fullest Extent. they might even end up “shouting” (’cause their voices are That Mighty) at each other in a dialogue-like sense (kind of like this part in the star knows). and god, don’t even get me started on the amount of drama the instruments would have. i imagine it could be the kind of performance that when the orchestra is finally done, their freaking fingers/arms/mouths are out of breath and are in need of a break because of just how violently passionate the song has become.
i would even say the song ends very abruptly. remember this?
the song would be Completely over as soon as nana’s sword slices off maya’s cape. and you see that freaking drop of sweat on maya’s face? that’s how high the stakes are this time.
there’s even a lot of pauses as they proceed to their post-revue dialogue. it’s as if they were both trying to digest Everything that just happened.
maya even sounds more serious than usual. this is when she really starts processing how brutally determined nana is in getting her dream stage. it’s also the moment where nana realizes her wish is probably too high for her to reach, but still gives it a go anyways.
oh and i love these shots of the curtains falling fast, that they dismiss maya even before she expresses her full concern to nana. in these scenes, we (yes—the audience) are maya, since we’re just as shocked as she is that nana beat her.
so yeah. just imagine everything that happened before this scene. and how insanely powerful these two characters (and singers) are.
#maya tendo#maya tendou#nana daiba#revue starlight#shoujo kageki revue starlight#ok wow when did this post get long i was just thinking abt a what if situation why do my thoughts always freaking end up like this#i think about this every time i listen to hoshiboshi no kizuna#anyway it's legit midnight time for bed#rambles#my analysis#idk where to dump this since it was supposed to be a ramble but well

okay but can y’all imagine for a sec that the songs they sing in the live stageplay are performed by their characters in the anime? let’s say their class is doing a performance for another event.
now. imagine how Gay the practices would be for GANG☆STAR. like. can you imagine them coming up with that choreography? gay-ass comments would be thrown left and right. so many nsfw things would be coming out of kaoruko’s mouth, LOTS of mayakuro teasing happening etc. i can’t even imagine the commentary they would have after reading the lyrics for the first time. their practice sessions would be such a hub for gay content i swear.
GANG☆STAR is such a blessing. and it’s no damn coincidence it’s sung by a couple who is extremely whipped for each other (futakao), and a couple who have built so much tension/such a slow burn between them (mykr).
#futaba isurugi#kaoruko hanayagi#claudine saijou#maya tendou#revue starlight#shoujo kageki revue starlight#someone PLEASE WRITE THIS FIC OR COME UP WITH MORE HEADCANONS I JUST KNOW IT WOULD BE SO GAY OKAY#rambles#please tell me i'm not the only one who keeps thinking about this

first of all i LOVE this revelation, and you’re more than welcome to keep this convo going!! and holy shit you’re right. i checked those scenes again and they were playing elle est belle: utsukushii hito. now i REFUSE to believe this doesn’t mean anything. i love that the flora parts of starlight’s instrumental (elle est belle) are on caludine’s scenes whenever she is talking about reaching out to maya. like. that could not have aligned ANY better. yes yes, claudine ALWAYS, without a doubt, gets back up there there. literally a flora that climbs back the tower again. she’s a fighter. and like i said, maya is theoretically trapped in the tower of being the #1 top star. it’s lonely at the stop ya know.
to me the series made it very clear early on that claire = hikari / flora = karen, especially when they showed us an intro where they were the ones playing the characters. like from that point on it was directly telling us the starlight gatherer will parallel hikaren. and i mean we get to know pretty early too that maya played claire and claudine played flora, but mayakuro’s connection to claire/flora didn’t struck me with such important as hikaren’s. i mean hikaren’s mirroring of claire/flora is so much more obvious and spelled out in the entire show, but mayakuro’s relation to them got me thinking. and now i think my questions are answered by them sliding these tracks into their scenes.
honestly this makes me think of how that mayakuro french confession scene (lmao i’m calling it that) in ep10 was lowkey foreshadowing the ending of revue starlight... ‘cause ok. so maya = claire / claudine = flora. right. now remember how maya lost and claudine broke down? and it was her breakdown where maya had the courage to tell claudine that it’s not her fault—that she actually cares about her—and all that. making both of them be vulnerable, and accept that they can both shine together. ok now let’s flash forward to ep12 where the hikaren revue happened. hikari = claire / karen = flora. cue karen dropping the tokyo tower and telling hikari that because of you i am reborn etc. and that caused hikari to finally give in and do their rendition of the starlight gatherer, grabbing each other’s hands, ending the revues. do you know what i mean?? like...
the version of flora that gets up. that version of flora that makes claire realize that maybe she doesn’t have to be lonely. that maybe there is life outside that cruel trapped tower. it was all there.
ok i totally don’t know where my trail of thought is now but i hope you get what i mean... and i’ll stop typing before i sound like i’m giving a ted talk
OKAY UMMMMM has anyone talked about how bridge no ue de was the bgm playing as we see maya in her damn room in episode 3, just before the her revue, and how that song is literally the instrumental of hikari’s verse in starlight (revue song) ????????? LIKE
i was literally waiting for that track they used in maya’s room to play as i was listening to the OST. ‘cause i was like oh that’s probably maya’s theme or smth… and once it started playing i was like oh crap it’s starlight’s instrumental…
does it mean something? i don’t know. i mean maya did play claire in the 99th class’ starlight play. and that entire verse in starlight is all about claire being trapped, and how her promise with flora will never happen. remember how maya implied she had to give up claudine sharing her stage throughout her entire revue? and said, “even alone, i am a star”? could that association with the song indicate how (up to that point) believes that she and claudine (who, you know, played flora) could never stand on the same stage together, despite being a talented pair, because that’s just now how it works? like, we all know that maya tends to isolate herself/is isolated because she IS at the top. doesn’t that ring a bell to how claire is trapped in the tower, after she reaches for the stars?
that track was literally playing throughout that mayakuro flashback, while they were being claire and flora. when maya had her hand out to claudine, but she was like [grabs maya by the ear/her hair] “i won’t lose”. continuing their rivalry to each other. you can’t tell me there’s no connection in there… you just can’t.
or maybe i AM just stretching this thought a bit too far but Like
#literally though i kept asking myself there's gotta be a deeper meaning why mayakuro is claire/flora and here it is#reblog#my analysis#guess that's going in that tag now since we dug deeper about this#i rly need to listen to the ost more times now
