minvember 2023 palette prompt 5: chance

happy new year! finally got around to drawing my concept for the "chance" prompt from last year's minvember: londo playing a game of chance involving cards, but in a more abstract way (since i never pay attention to any actual card symbolism), with the following fronts:

if the lie prompt's colors felt like the minbari palette, this prompt's colors felt like the narn palette. and who better to exemplify that than my fave of faves?

(but omg i drew so many busts of g'kars before settling on this one)

g'kar in londo's thoughts: "crowding" them, as it were. but at high levels, that might be to one's advantage...

(inspired by disco elysium's art style, particularly the Half Light card and that one abstract harry avatar)

tempted as i was to draw londo for this prompt, this really is the minbari color palette! a certain flashback about delenn's role in the earth-minbari war was on my mind while drawing this, and how much that added to her moral complexity (not that the ambassadors as a trio and as a rule aren't morally complex enough, but still - what a reveal).

trying out a new way of incorporating color + the 1st palette from this art challenge to draw my fav b5 character i associate with the prompt! :3

with a touch of the mystical to illustrate how g'kar might appear in certain characters' dreams (or nightmares), depending on what kind of answer he might be to their prayers

i heard nobody on tumblr can draw anybody over the age of 50 so here's a sketch of oliver in one of franck's outfits from the father of the bride movie. imo he could still pull it off

turns out if you don't back up your files, you will indeed risk losing them to the sands of time. rip to this but i'll try to redraw the squad eventually (especially now that i've seen the movie)!
