i know that “EW” is the actual acronym used for “extinct in the wild” but it’s really funny to imagine that this thumbnail is shaming this poor tiger

Hey. People in my inbox saying you relate with intersex experiences because you were put on hormones as a kid for a hormonal condition.
Perisex people aren't put on hormones as children for a hormonal condition. You are intersex. You've been told your intersex traits are a disorder and you have been deprived of your community. I encourage you to learn more about the intersex community and participate if you'd like to. This community saved me.

Sometimes I do wonder if men actually get sexually assaulted and abused at a similar rate that women do but a lot of them just don’t know that’s what’s happening to them

my first queer experience was when i was 17 and playing spin the bottle at a party and it landed on a girl. the thing is, the version we were all playing was a seven mins in heaven one rather than a simple kiss one.
the girl was all for it, i was not. i was in no way homophobic, or so i thought, at the time. my brother and aunt were both queer, so to me it had never been an issue. but the thought of a pretty girl being all game to kiss me in the closet of my best friends bedroom made my skin crawl.
spoiler alert: i had a big fat crush and didn’t know how to deal with it.
and so i panicked, and went into the closet. we both started talking at the same time. she let me go first, i rambled and thought i had really fucked up when she simply put a hand on my arm and asked if she could kiss me. i let her.
we are both now 24 and 25 and have been living with each other since last november. i still sometimes struggle with my internalised homophobia, but she’s there through it all and i’m so grateful for her. i’m going to ask her to marry me sometime this year :)
anon are you living in a fanfic because oh my god that is so sweet

You don’t have to answer this but I’m really pissed because my sister no longer supports Alice Oseman because she believes that Nick and Charlie’s relationship in the later books is cp and I just don’t know how to explain that that opinion is just plain wrong and stupid and aaaaaaghhhh it’s really pissing me off
nah actually i wanna talk about this and how dumb it is.
teenagers have sex. not only that, but teenagers have complicated and interesting thoughts about sex. teens have things to say. and when writing about teenagers, it makes sense that it would come up.
and even with like the later books… osman is really tame. like insanely so. there is no actual panels of them fucking, just illusions and discussion. there’s no pornography at all. and in that, they’re either 17 or over 18, right? thats like. thats fine. and even if there were…. i mean osman doesnt really do thst stuff anyway so it’d be off brand, but then like you don’t have to read it. then it’ll be a book containing sex scenes that you dont want to read.
i feel like we really need a distinction between “teenagers have sex in this show/graphic novel because its a part of their relationship and the narrative” and “the creator thinks kids fucking is hot” because like. whats the conclusion here. osman is a pedophile? her works are pedophilic? these are 17 and 18 year olds in a romance. the audience is younger queer people. the actors are adults and the most they do is kiss. the book is fucking drawn. what like. what is the problem. no one can really find one.
also obligatory “child porn is a real and actual thing where real live children are assaulted and abused and sold, not when an author utilizes sex in their story of minors”. stand with survivors and victims before rallying against some author.

One thing I think about sometimes is how many "cishets being weird about queer stuff" might be queer people who chickened out.
Example: When I was 18, the first day at a new, very macho job, my manager shared that she had a girlfriend. I was so surprised that anyone would share that in that environment, so I choked on my drink and stammered "girlfriend?". I thought about outing myself as nonbinary, but she was my boss so I stayed quiet. I couldn't even think of a save. It probably came across as homophobic. She was very cool towards me the entire time I worked there.
yeah true

Me: Yes sir I understand that the office door cannot be closed when two colleagues of opposite gender are alone together due to sexual misconduct concerns but as an openly bisexual employee I have to ask if leaving two colleagues of the same gender entirely unsupervised isn't a double standard
Me: Like. I feel I should also have my ass covered if a same-gender colleague accuses me of shit, you know
Bossman: Nahhhhhhh it's good
The morally grey cathedral goblin that lives on my shoulder and judges the value of my kneejerk impulses: If you grabbed his ass right now he would learn such an important lesson forever but we don't roll like that bro
Me: (out loud) Okay
