Biography
The name Någå∞Någåmé means Most Perfect Vision.
Born in St. Louis Missouri to a Liberian father and African-American mother, Någå grew up connected to two cultures and developed a love for music at a young age. He is trained in auxiliary percussion and classical voice, and is also a self-taught guitarist and songwriter. Någå auditioned and was accepted in Howard University's School of Fine Arts.
In his youth he traveled extensively with Akbar Muhammad, an international ambassador for the Nation of Islam. He draws on diverse travel and cultural experiences to fuel his lifestyle and creative pursuits.
Någå has created a vocal style reminiscent of John Legend, Ceelo Green, and Jeff Buckley - delivering dynamically powerful vocal performances over sweet and simple acoustic guitar melodies. Receptive audiences span across America and in Ghana, West Africa. Någå presented “Why am I” written during the height of the protests ignited by the police shootings in Ferguson, MO. The song continues to be well received, as it speaks to the sentiment of young African-American males and their vulnerability on American Streets.
After moving to Los Angeles in 2012 Någå set out to "fine tune" his creative form, producing a unique hip-hop oriented musical style he has dubbed "lyrical theatre." Någå maintains active status in the mixed-medium collective: Ubiquitous Love Tribe which is based out of Santa Monica, California.
Currently, Någå resides in Berkeley, California and is an alumni of Oaksterdam University, America’s first cannabis college. He is pursuing the necessary certifications to become a professional in the industry as he pursues a music career. Någå has extensive knowledge of the cannabis plant and other plant systems. He plans to devote his time, voice, and passion for knowledge to educating others about the medicinal benefits of the cannabis plant and plant-based lifestyles and eating habits.
