Three facts about this scene:

This scene is fucking nuts

The actors here did 3 months of firearm training with live ammunition, led by former British Special Ops.

This movie is said to have inspired a number of real-life bank robberies. Most notably, a copy of this film was found in the apartment of the robbers involved in the 1997 North Hollywood shootout, which killed 22, including the robbers. It is widely speculated that this scene served as inspiration for their heist.
