As of this morning we stand at 68% completed - that’s a whopping £15,720 funded to create more of The Holmwood Foundation! We are overwhelmed by everyone’s love and generosity but please remember at this stage that we are an all or nothing project.
If we don’t hit our goal, the money doesn’t go to us, and we can’t make the project.
We have only 6 days left to make the remaining 7,280 we need
Please like, comment and share with all your friends and family and see if we can make the last of the money we need!
Please help us pay our cast and crew and put more Jeremy/Jonathan, Mina/Maddie out into the world!
Please find the Kickstarter here!!!

(Not so) fun fact that people updated with Hi Nay may know is that I wrote Hi Nay in response to real life Philippine fascism, with our main character Mari, a warm, sweet woman who seems relatively cheerful in the face of all the Horrors, having lived through fascism and having had to do monstrous things to combat it. It all comes back to the Duterte presidency.
The real horror is fascism, and the apathy of the rich and powerful, but we keep living, and despite it all, we find surprising moments of queer joy.
That's what drives the story of Hi Nay. It's why we've never shut up about politics and global issues even if we're an indie fiction podcast. I'm glad so many people have resonated with it in some way.

Reposting Hi Nay art for new listeners!
Here's our resident hyper-competent, charming, seemingly unbothered gay supernatural Detective Murphy, and his lover, the bi conman fake guru with real magic powers, Ashvin.
Murphy may or may not have some secrets that keep him up at night…
art by @ abelkorp on Twitter!
[Image ID: Art by @ abelkorp on Twitter - a scene bathed in bluish-purple light of two men in bed together. The window behind them provides some yellow light from the outside. One of the men, Murphy (light skinned, half-Asian, black haired, handsome) lies awake, looking troubled at his boyfriend Ashvin (slightly darker skinned, Indian, hairy but beardless, with longer black hair, wearing a small pendant of Hanuman). Ashvin sleeps peacefully, unaware of Murphy's restlessness. /End ID]

I’ve been yelling about this over on my personal socials and the next step seems to be either posting about it here or standing on a rooftop with a megaphone so keep an eye on rooftops near you!
The nominees are such impressive lineups of incredibly talented writers and illustrators, and I’m so proud just to be mentioned this list 😭❤️
(What if I started pitching Tell No Tales as “written by a Carnegie-nominated author” what then?)

Okay so weird question: what’s your favourite mythological/folkloric creature and why would they make a TERRIBLE housemate? (I promise I have my reasons for asking)

Last-minute podcast Halloween costume ideas (very scary):
Wet mouth sounds (extended cut)
"Content Warning: Mature Themes." [Do not elaborate]
The episode that is twice as long as any before it
The 80 decibel difference in volume between podcast and advertisement
Sound of distant emergency sirens
"This Episode is No Longer Available"
Live action adaptation

Better Place for sure runs an ad campaign every June that’s just a bunch of couples eating salads in perfect houses and saying stuff like “I sure am glad we got rid of that pesky ghost. Now there’s nothing standing in the way of our gay marriage”
And Frank, archaic fruit that he is, really thinks they’re Doing Something there
There’s also a meeting room full of Better Place marketing assistants desperately trying to think of some way to use “slaayyy” in their copy
nothing will ever be funnier to me than the idea of the Evil Capitalism Companies TM from podcasts participating in rainbow capitalism. does Goddard Futuristics make their logo rainbow for the month. does LMG go above and beyond to put queer people in their advertisements for the month of June. Does Overhead make Gordon help them post during pride as he is their Gay Employee. because I personally think it would be hilarious

Planning to host a week called #BIPOCtober where we celebrate BIPOC audio dramas!
More info soon, but if you're a BIPOC led or BIPOC majority audio drama that we can spotlight for that week, feel free to drop your titles and @ in the replies or reblogs.
Inspiration taken from @podcastgirlsweek ! The tag will be used for posts, fanart, fanfic, etc, of your favourite BIPOC characters or audio dramas. We'll use it to hype BIPOC audio dramas that don't get as much attention and traction as their White counterparts.
Cheers!
P.S. will likely make a sideblog specifically for this! Will link it when ready.

#BIPOCtober Week 2024 - BIPOC AUDIO DRAMA CELEBRATION
Celebrate BIPOC audio drama this October with the hashtag #BIPOCtober!
We'll be spotlighting BIPOC created/led audio dramas and their creators from October 13-20, 2024.
If you'd like to be spotlighted, feel free to send us your show title, a description/summary, some promo materials, and which characters (or creators!) are BIPOC.
BIPOC = Black, Indigenous, People of Color
The Rules:
Use the hashtag #BIPOCtober to share art, fic, features, and other creative posts centred on your favourite BIPOC characters in audio drama, as well as BIPOC voice actors and creators.
Make sure to add a short description of the character or podcast you're spotlighting so that others can learn about them! The aim for this week is to get people interested in the characters and shows they come from.
Try to keep the posts all-ages, but if your work or show has adult elements, ⚠️Place it under the cut (Read More) or add a warning/disclaimer!⚠️ If it's a fic (presumably on AO3), ensure a proper rating and warnings are reflected. We won't exclude adult or mature works (since the founder of this is a horror podcast) but we want to keep things safe for everyone :)
CREATORS ARE ENCOURAGED TO HYPE THEIR OWN SHOWS if they are BIPOC.
But most importantly, have fun! Feel free to ask questions and reach out.
-Motzie (The Hi Nay Podcast)

Oh hey so something happened over on Twitter today that I feel like I should share here too
So yeah, I wasn’t going to start using the new name publicly for a bit to avoid confusion but you guys are smart it’ll be fine! I’ll still be Leanne on the show credits etc until I know for sure, but elsewhere — hi, I’m Leon!
(But also if you’re trying out a new name, I recommend using it to support Wanderer’s Journal’s crowdfund because that graphic was a beautiful way to see it written down and go “oh, yeah that feels right”)
#also fun fact around the time that I was mentally calling myself Leon for the first time#I started listening to greater Boston#and every time Leon got mentioned I was like ! hey! that’s me!#so I suspect that’s a sign it’s going to stick
