July 17, 2018
The closer I get to this day the more I realize I haven’t done much of the things I wanted to do in life. Consider this my early midlife crisis. According to the research the Crisis is early 40s. So, here’s the thing. Sure, I’ve accomplished most the things I set out to do in 2017. I made some pretty adult goals; work on bettering my credit, buying a car I actually like. Things of that nature.
I feel as like the thing to do in this first post would be to address who I am as a person and what made me start this list. I’m not big on talking about myself. It’s weird. You’ll get a lot of perspective of who I am by this blog. I want it to be authentically me. I don’t plan to dress it up so that people will enjoy it. I just want to share what I want to do with my upcoming year. Turning a decade older is a big deal, right?!
A little bit about myself:
I’m a part-time bartender (pays fulltime bills), full-time student and parent of a crazy almost 5-year girl, natural hair wearing black “girl”. I’m single and not actively looking (whatever happens, happens)
That said, I’ve made a list which I’ll elaborate on and I will address then as I pursue them in the year to come.
Things to do at 30:
Start a blog: DONE. To be held accountable for the things I want to do. If I put it in the atmosphere I have left myself NO CHOICE.
Be more patient with my daughter: I’ll later explain in a post, soon.
Grooming School: pursue my future career path
Work under a groomer: for experience
Start a business: I want something that is my own
Pole Dance class: This just looks like fun
Tough Mudder: a physical goal I’ve wanted to train for and tackle for YEARS.
Join cross fit gym: to help lose weight and to be able to achieve above goal
Learn ASL: I have always felt like American sign language would be interesting to learn
Pottery classes: I’m good with my hands. I think this is totally doable (egotistical)
Guitar lessons: Something else I feel like I would pick up on…. Maybe too much guitar hero back in the day.
Drink more water: EASIER said than done.
Apply for passport: everyone I know has a passport
Leave the country: actually, use the passport
Scuba lessons: I’ve been a swimmer my whole life, it only makes since to learn how to do this (BUCKET LIST)
Pay of majority of debts: This has been a yearly goal for me not to have too much debt. I just recently got my first credit card, so I don’t owe too many people except late past due bills from being young and irresponsible. BLAH
Meet new people: despite me being fairly social in school and being a bartender I’m pretty much a homebody.
