today is the three year anniversary of my sister’s death (me on the left, her on the right). she was my best friend and i still love and miss her so much. i’m doing fine- i’ve actually surprised myself with how well i’ve handled the grief. there are moments where it hits me hard but most of the time i’m good, even on the anniversary.

honestly the things that make me miss her the most are things i know she would like, such as movies and music and videos, that have come out since her passing. when i see things, i want to share them with her but i can’t and it’s disappointing. we also had tons of stupid inside jokes from things that only she and i were into, so our friends would be completely confused, and i still think of them and say them sometimes but don’t have anyone to share them with.

she was a huge dork- incredibly funny and smart and had a big heart. and she is sorely missed.

“ They offered me protective custody when they moved me here …”  Constance had begged him over the phone to take it , but he didn’t ; Tate knew that would mean almost complete isolation . Sure , this wasn’t the school ground , or the juvenile facility he had been locked up in previously . No , this was real life , real tough , prison . And Tate was sentenced to at least thirty years , and he doubted parole would grant him freedom come the day he was allowed to appeal for such .  “ Sort of weird , I guess . Knowing people like … know who I am . What I did .”  He use to be such a shy , reserved boy . Before his face was plastered all over every single news channel there was for about a week .  “ Everything this past year as felt really — fake .”

It felt the same for Kenny.  Ever since that night he was recorded through his webcam,  it almost felt like he had been moving through life in a haze-  a panic-filled haze but a haze nonetheless.  Almost like a dream.  A horrible nightmare that he could never wake up from.  “ They offered it to me too. ”  Clearly,  he had turned it down as well.  Not everyone around here knew who he was by name,  but most of them knew why he was here.  People like him did tend to be looked down upon as the lowest of the low;  even in prison,  he was an outcast.  “ My mum wanted me to take it so I would be safe,  but I-  I don’t think I could handle bein’ alone like that. ”
